[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] I was not contacted immediately upon notification of the leakage The leakage started on 6/19/ I finally received a call from Paul Conklin on 8/only after filing this complaint He states in his response that the roof was installed following manufacturing guidelines, but he told me he "fired" the foreman Kevin that installed it because of the poor job he did I will not be satisfied until the repair work is actually done, at this point, the contractor's word means nothing I still have not received the guarantee via email nor a hard copy in the mail I will not mark this complaint resolved until the actions promised are completed

We (Capital Home Improvements) installed a new [redacted] 50-year transferable warranty roofing system for Mr. [redacted].  We completed the project utilizing proper installation technique recommended by the manufacturer, and it was completed in a timely manner and without incident....

Immediately upon learning of a possible issue with the workmanship and/or installation through the Revdex.com, Mr. [redacted] was contacted and we are set to meet with him and fix any issues that have arisen.  Mr. [redacted] has also been emailed his [redacted] warranty, and his hard copy has been shipped from [redacted] as well - at our expense.  We will update this response once we have satisfied Mr. [redacted]'s expectations, as we aim to do with each of our customers.

July 2015 original scope of work:
1. Replace select sections of soffits and fascia
2. Case and trim multiple windows
3. Repair hanging gutters
Total $7,845.00
4. Repair 70+ year old, leaking roof
Total $2,995.00
Between 2015 and 2017: Capital Home Improvements roofers were called back three...

(3) times to
patch new leaks and seal an area of fascia (not previously repaired by Capital Home Improvements) to
keep birds from entering. Although the aforementioned repairs amounting to $1,300.00 and were
never paid by the customer, Capital Home Improvements roofers continued to return at the
customer’s request to repair newly developed leaks three (3)separate times.
July 2017: The general manager and lead foreman from Capital Home improvements drove from
Syracuse to customer’s home in Geneva to assess and repair yet another new leak around a dormer.
Upon a thorough inspection it was apparent the 70+ year old slate shingle roof was so brittle it was
beyond further repair. The General Manager explained the situation to the customer. He then laid out
an action plan as follows:
1. Have a certified abate team test the roof shingles for asbestos content
2. If asbestos is found the abate team would remove and depose of the roof shingles according to
state and environmental law.
3. Capital Home Improvements would then provide the customer a bid to install a new roof with the
understanding that Capital Home Improvements would absorb as much of the previous repair costs as
possible and represent that in the bid.
4. Upon receiving Capital Home Improvements bid, the customer would be free to collect completive
bids and work with the contractor of her choice, with no further payment obligation to Capital Home
Improvements regarding unpaid repair cost of $1,300.00 for the three previous repairs.
5. In the event that asbestos was found, Capital Home Improvements would provide the same bid
considerations minus the cost of removing and disposing of the contaminated roofing shingles that
would have be done by a licensed certified agency.
The customer agreed to the plan of action and indicated she would contact the necessary agency to
test for asbestos.
We feel that a refund in not appropriate in that:
1. We completed the original scope of work
2. We went back three (3) times to fix new leaks
3. We were never compensated for the new repairs
4. We offered to bid the new roof with considerations of the customer’s previous repair costs, dismiss
the outstanding amount due to us, and try to absorb as much of the previous roof repair costs as possible
represented in a written bid.
5. The customer made no further attempt to execute our agreed action plan. We have yet to hear
back regarding the test findings.
However, Capital Home Improvements is still willing to honor the action plan we set forth above.
Sincerely,
Capital Home Improvements Team
