I made an appointment to be tattooed here for March 6, at one o'clock to have a sleeve on my right arm completely finishedMy artist and I agreed we would finish it completely for five hundred dollars via text messagesOn the date of the appointment the artist was very late and delayed the start of the session by almost four hoursThe artist also took frequent breaks which resulted in only two hours of actual work being done within a five hour time stretchI was promised verbally that the lost time would be made up for later that week, however, on that date the artist failed to respond to my text messages or callsI had given him all of the five hundred dollars up front in good faith and am now left with an unfinished tattoo from an artist with a bad attitude I tried to contact the owner and at first he was helpfulHe said he would look into the matter and call me back yet he never didWhen I tried to contact the owner a second time I was rudely hung up on my the other ar

I am rejecting this response because:It was understood that my whole arm would be competed as I specified in my text message to the artist i.ebackground, additional flowers and shadingCompeted means NO further work neededAnd the artist agreed to complete itHowever, in response to the claim that the lower arm was the targeting for completion, it clearly is notAlso, no work was done to my upper arm whatsoeverAs the shop mentioned the artist and I had been working together for many years and the artist and I knew what was saidI'm sorry that he seems to be being dishonest with the shop owner to save faceAs to the mention of the messages on [redacted] , I'd like to elaborate that as wellI had messaged the artist the day of the second appointment with no responseThe next day after contacting the owner he replied angrily wanting to know why I had gone above him to his bossI have included a screen shot of thisSo it clearly shows that I had not yet blocked him through [redacted] which would have allowed him to message me back on the day of the second appointment.I have never paid per hour with this artist in the four years we have worked together and he failed to inform me of any such thingHe felt five hundred dollars was fair and that he'd be able to compete the job as we clearly agreed to via text message, and he did notI think it is fair that I am refunded 80% of the five hundred dollars since only 20% of the sleeve is actually doneThis complaint will not be resolved until I receive $400.I have also stated before that I do not wish to return to this shop because I am afraid that they will do bad work in spite of this complaint with the Revdex.comDiscount or not I have to live with a tattoo forever and will not step foot in the business ever again

I am rejecting this response because:This business has not gone "above and beyond" to remedy my complaintThe owner never contacted me about the situation until after I had sent him an emailTo which his response was unhelpfulThe email as well as the response above are untrueMy appointment was scheduled to finish the job for an agreed upon amountHowever, even if I had been charged hourly I deserve a refundAs I stated in my initial report, I was tattooed for a combined total of two hoursThe owner couldn't possibly know this because he was not present at the time and is going by what his employee is sayingFurthermore, there was never any mention of "borrowed money" as the five hundred dollars I paid my artist with had come from a recent federal tax return which I have bank statements to prove

Hello,we are very disappointed to see this issue come to the Revdex.com, as we feel we have gone above and beyond to Remedy our client's disatisfaction in spite of the fact that the client recieved more tattoo service (equaling an estimated one hour) than she paid for while our artist attempted to
accommodate her design changes and add-ons within a reasonable time-frameIn addition, the client continued to verbally harass and threaten our business via telephone even after being informed that the owner would need time to look into the matter further before making a decision - we feel the urgency and panic for this client to recover her refund was due to a verbal mention via telephone conversation with one of our staff that the money was borrowed from her boyfriend and she needed to pay him backWe have included copies of the text messages exchanged as well as our email response explainig our decision with evidence and attempting to remedy the situationI hope you will find this proves we were offering the utmost in fair customer service.Thank You,Capital Ink Tattoo

The three images of the lower arm is the unfinished lower arm sleeve that the artist understood to be completed for $500 (or roughly 3 hours of work). During the tattoo session, the client verbally expressed she wanted to add more background texture to the lower arm as well as more flowers and background to her upper arm (image 4) sleeve on top of the original $500 session. the artist tried to accommodate her as a friend by working on her upper arm in the time he had leftover before scheduling a separate appointment to complete the separate tattoo request (I.e. Upper arm) It is not the nature of the tattoo industry to have written invoices due to the creative process ebbing and flowing during the session to being the art to together; not to mention it is often difficult to articulate some images into a technical description. Hourly rates, time spent tattooing with multiple witnesses and industry standards of cost make it very rare for situations like this to even arise. It is beyond a doubt that the clientgot a excellent deal on exactly what she asked for and then some with an artist happy to complete this beautiful sleeve despite getting a new cell phone and being unable to recover messages. Not to mention, when the artist attempted to respond to the [redacted] message that the client claims he ignored, the client had blocked the artist on [redacted] hence preventing him from responding. In order to resolve this, our artist is more than happy to complete the clients tattoo below our shop minimum at $125/hour instead of $150/hour to accommodate for the miscommunication. We believe this is fair to both parties so that the client can get her arm finished by a great artist while saving $25/hr and the artist can be paid (even if it's less than standard) for his time, talent and supplies. Thank you,Capital Ink Tattoo[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:It was understood that my whole arm would be competed as I specified in my text message to the artist i.e. background, additional flowers and shading. Competed means NO further work needed. And the artist agreed to complete it. However, in response to the claim that the lower arm was the targeting for completion, it clearly is not. Also, no work was done to my upper arm whatsoever. As the shop mentioned the artist and I had been working together for many years and the artist and I knew what was said. I'm sorry that he seems to be being dishonest with the shop owner to save face. As to the mention of the messages on [redacted], I'd like to elaborate that as well. I had messaged the artist the day of the second appointment with no response. The next day after contacting the owner he replied angrily wanting to know why I had gone above him to his boss. I have included a screen shot of this. So it clearly shows that I had not yet blocked him through [redacted] which would have allowed him to message me back on the day of the second appointment.I have never paid per hour with this artist in the four years we have worked together and he failed to inform me of any such thing. He felt five hundred dollars was fair and that he'd be able to compete the job as we clearly agreed to via text message, and he did not. I think it is fair that I am refunded 80% of the five hundred dollars since only 20% of the sleeve is actually done. Review: I made an appointment to be tattooed here for March 6, 2016 at one o'clock to have a sleeve on my right arm completely finished. My artist and I agreed we would finish it completely for five hundred dollars via text messages. On the date of the appointment the artist was very late and delayed the start of the session by almost four hours. The artist also took frequent breaks which resulted in only two hours of actual work being done within a five hour time stretch. I was promised verbally that the lost time would be made up for later that week, however, on that date the artist failed to respond to my text messages or calls. I had given him all of the five hundred dollars up front in good faith and am now left with an unfinished tattoo from an artist with a bad attitude.

I tried to contact the owner and at first he was helpful. He said he would look into the matter and call me back yet he never did. When I tried to contact the owner a second time I was rudely hung up on my the other artists in the shop. I tried once more via email to let the shop owner do what is right by me in giving me a refund and he refused. So I have now been forced to seek another artist and I'm shocked that this type of business is being conducted legally.Desired Settlement: The tattoo was supposed to be finished completely and it was not. I fear that now after all this trouble, if I were to return to this establishment I would be treated badly. I am unhappy with the way the work turned out and do not wish to have any further bad work done here. It is extremely difficult to find artists who have the same style and technique and I have to live with this on my body forever. For all of these troubles I am seeking a full refund.

I am rejecting this response because:This business has not gone "above and beyond" to remedy my complaint. The owner never contacted me about the situation until after I had sent him an email. To which his response was unhelpful. The email as well as the response above are untrue. My appointment was scheduled to finish the job for an agreed upon amount. However, even if I had been charged hourly I deserve a refund. As I stated in my initial report, I was tattooed for a combined total of two hours. The owner couldn't possibly know this because he was not present at the time and is going by what his employee is saying.
