Review: I have been involved in an accident where I was NOT at fault. I was rear-ended by another vehicle on 5/8/2014. I called my insurance company (Capitol Insurance) on the date of the accident to file my claim. During that time I was on hold for over two hours trying to get in contact with a claims specialist. I was assigned to an adjuster who's name is [redacted] that did not contact me right away, I had to contact her numerous times in order to set a time frame of when my vehicle would be appraised for damages. My vehicle was appraised on 5/19/2014 which was 11 days after my accident. Capitol Insurance company has not provided any rental coverage during my period of loss. I have spent over $1000 on a rental vehicle out of pocket for an accident in which I am not at fault. As I write this complaint the date is 6/17/2014 and I am still without my vehicle because whenever I call Capitol Insurance there is no one available to speak with me. I leave numerous messages for the adjuster and other claims specialists to no avail. I have called them numerous times along with my boyfriend, and the auto body place where I am having my vehicle serviced. They have called them many times as well because they need the vehicle appraised again for damages that are missing in the original appraisal. The company did provide me with a check in the amount of the original appraisal but in order to get my car back I need the company to resolve the difference with the auto body shop. This insurance company is very unprofessional and does not give there policy holders any options. My car has been unavailable to me for an entire month an I think this is unacceptable. I am aware that there is a 45 day time frame to settle a claim but I have been without transportation for almost a week now because I no longer can afford to pay for a rental. During this entire process I have not been able to speak to any representatives to give me any information on progress. This is an unacceptable insurance company and the policy holders should not be treated this way throughout the claim process. I will seek legal representation if necessary to settle this never ending claim if I am not reimbursed accordingly.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is two-fold, First I would like this insurance company to pay the auto body shop the additional estimated fees for my car repairs. I also request a full refund of my rental charges throughout this process. I want to be completely done with this company and put this horrible experience behind me and ultimately help any other consumers.

Review: I've filed a claim on Monday 06/30/2014. I came out to go to work and noticed my vehicle was side swiped and the results were a lost driver side mirror and damage to the driver side fender. I contact Capitol immediately with an online claim. It took two days for anyone to return my call concerning my claim. And once an Adjuster finally contacted me,she appointed an appraiser to meet me at my work place on 07/01/2014 to appraise the car's damage. Unfortunately no one ever showed on the appointed date. The following morning I've begin to call repeatedly and they appointed another date to come which the appraiser didn't show as well followed by two more misled dates. It taken nearly two weeks for anyone to come out and appraise my vehicle. After they done so,they emailed me an online estimate for my vehicle repairs and then notified me via phone that I would be receiving a check via mail. Sad to say I have yet to receive that check for my repairs and I am forced to drive around with the damage still current on my vehicle. I contacted my Adjuster Carolyn L[redacted] last Monday 07/14/2014 and she assured me that my check was in the mail and it should arrive the following Tuesday or Wednesday. Well, today is Monday again and I haven't received anything. I contacted the claims supervisor today and he notified me that a check was never printed and that he was actually printing a check now. Their services are of poor quality and I don't recommend anyone to do business with this company in the near future. I am currently a newly satisfied customer with [redacted] Insurance Company; a transition I was forced upon a month early of my previous insurance term due to Capitols poor business ethics.Desired Settlement: I monthly paid Capitol Insurance $206 for the protection of my vehicle against theft, vandalism, and reckless drivers and in return they failed to provide those services. I feel disappointed, betrayed, and upset that a legitimized company can rip earnest living people off without care.

Review: On August 17, 2013 I purchased a vehicle from the dealership Ticket to Ride for my fianc. Despite the fact that I had a valid insurance policy for my other 2 vehicles including full coverage, they refused to let me leave the lot with the car for not having proof of insurance for THAT particular car although not required by law.Enter the salesman, suggesting he can get me an insurance policy to carry that car through the weekend from his friend and that I can cancel on Monday and receive a refund for all monies paid minus the usage of the policy for Saturday and Sunday once I had added the car to my current policy. I was agreeable to this. He then called a shyster at [redacted] Insurance agency who located a policy from Capitol Insurance. Without anyone speaking to me in regards to coverages I wanted or my driving history, the salesman provided them with my bank card information. I was charged twice, $60.00 and $102.00. Paperwork for the policy was then handed to me for this 2 days of insurance to sign. The policy did not even list nor cover my fianc, and when I called to correct this I was quoted close to 3x the premium. On August 19, 2013, well within 3 days grace period for a binding contract, I called Capitol Insurance Agency and was told that ironically an insurance company can not cancel their own policy and that I would have to call Options, which I did. [redacted] refused to cancel the policy without my signature, and further suggested to me if I wanted to cancel theyd require my documents from my other carrier which is frankly none of their concern. They were provided my signature and a cancellation request on August 21, 2013. Also, on August 21, 2013 I received a billing statement from Capitol which I marked cancel immediately, signed, and mailed back to them.Dated September 3, 2013 I received a cancellation notice from Capitol for non-payment of premium to take effect September 20, 2013. I immediately called to correct this and was bounced by one agent into voicemail for the underwriters, hung up on by the second, and the third cancelled the policy backdated to August 21, 2013. She then proceeded to inform me that in lieu of a refund, I was informed I would be billed for insurance for August 17-21, a charge of $35 for not carrying the policy to full term, and a 10% penalty of the entire 6 month premium. In addition, the $60 fee paid to [redacted] would not be refunded. By my calculations Im being charged $150.00 approximately to carry insurance for 4 days on a car which I had legally covered during a purchase window by my current carrier. Now Im unsure as to exactly what kind of scam was perpetuated onto me, or who is getting kickbacks from whom. I find it appalling that such an agent and insurance company actually hold licenses to do business and sell insurance in Pennsylvania.Desired Settlement: I have disputed the charges with my bank, and copied all parties involved in hopes of somehow coming to an amicable solution to this situation, however they have picked the wrong victim. If I am not refunded either by the bank or the 2 companies in full, or even in full minus 4 days with no surcharges and penalties I have every intention of pursuing this matter legally.

Review: I have paid capital insurance their money on time it was a problem when my insurance was lasted for a week behind a late payment I then corrected this problem I them made another payment on my insurance policy early and was told that it would go through for my bill in July which should bring my balance down to 99 dollars when I talked to Steve he then let me know that a refund check would be posted back to my account in the amount of 113$ as of Aug 1 2014 so that my bill should be fine I come to pay my bill that I on the 29 and they tell me it counseled again I went and called both companies and got no where they are telling me that I owe them money from just which I paid when I talked to Steve today he said he didn't see the amount only what showed in the computer which was 67 $ that's what I paid now they are charging me all this other moneyDesired Settlement: To have them correct my billing
