CIG. Capital Insurance Group  July 25, 2017  Revdex.com 2600 West Shaw Lane Fresno, California 93711  Re: Our Insureds: [redacted] and [redacted]Our Claim Number: M[redacted]4 Our Policy Number:4[redacted]7  Date of Loss:March 7,...

2017  Revdex.com ID Number 12264187  Dear Bertha Bejarano:  On July 21, 2017 we received notification of the Revdex.com Complaint dated July 16, 2017, and submitted by our insured, [redacted], I would like to take this opportunity to address Ms.  [redacted]'s concerns.  On March 7, 2017 we received notification from Ms. [redacted] that her 2011 GMC Sierra was stolen from in front of her residence. On June 12, 2017 while the investigation of the theft continued, the vehicle was recovered in Bend, Oregon. Ms. [redacted] was informed that the vehicle had been recovered and it was explained that she could have the vehicle repaired at any location she chose. Ms. [redacted] had the vehicle towed to Lithia Body and Paint in Bend, Oregon. With Ms. [redacted]'s permission, the vehicle was later moved to Chevrolet Cadillac of Bend, Oregon.  On June 28, 2017 an initial estimate for the repairs was completed and sent to Ms. [redacted] for review. Our claim adjuster and claim supervisor reviewed the estimate and photos with Ms. [redacted] in detail. Ms. [redacted] identified several areas of additional damage that were not included in the original estimate.  On July 5, 2017 Ms. [redacted] was sent a copy of the updated estimate, which included all of the areas of additional damage that she indicated were related to the theft and not previously accounted for on the original estimate.  On July 11, 2017 Ms. [redacted]'s agent informed California Capital Insurance Company that Ms. [redacted] did not want the vehicle repaired any longer in Bend, Oregon, but rather moved to a repair shop closer to her home in Crescent City, California. California Capital Insurance Company informed Ms. [redacted] that she could move the vehicle to any shop she would like but that she would be responsible for the tow and storage charges as the vehicle was already towed two times to a shop of her choosing.  After extensive discussions with Ms. [redacted], On July 19, 2017 our claim supervisor, [redacted] Buchanan made a good faith effort to compromise and accommodate her request to move the vehicle again. Ms. [redacted] was informed that California Capital Insurance Company was willing to pay for an additional tow from Bend, Oregon to her home area of Crescent City, California. It was also explained that the shop where the vehicle was located at was likely going to charge her storage for the time the vehicle was at their shop. As an alternative, California Capital Insurance Company recommended to Ms. [redacted] that she consider having the mechanical issues repaired at the shop in order to avoid being charged additional storage. Once the mechanical repairs were completed, California Capital Insurance Company would have the vehicle moved to Ms. [redacted]'s new shop of choice in Crescent City, California. However, Ms. [redacted] was informed that it was her right to have the vehicle repaired where ever she would like.  On July 21, 2017, while working as an advocate for our insured, California Capital Insurance Company spoke with the facility where the vehicle was located. We were very pleased that an agreement was reached with the shop management that all storage charges would be waived for the time Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle was at the repair facilities.  Currently, California Capital Insurance Company has arranged for the vehicle to be picked up and towed to Ms. [redacted]'s newest chosen repair facility in Crescent City, California. After Ms. [redacted] has had an opportunity to view the vehicle, we are happy to discuss any future issue, as necessary. California Capital Insurance Company believes that it has resolved the outstanding issues at this time.  Sincerely  [redacted] (extension 22) Director of Operations — Claim Services California Capital Insurance Company [email protected] KCF:cpc52 0724-0910-01 c: Western Valley Insurance Associates, Inc. I am rejecting this response because: They are not being truthful. CIG has manipulated the facts to accomodate them and keep them in good light. I never not one time said I would have repairs done out of state without seeing the vehicle or having my own estimate. Originally [redacted] stated I needed to pick somewhere to have my estimate complete because they would not pay for storage fees any longer and the truck had to be removed. Mind you the truck had been removed from my policy and the claim was left unsettled and we were no where close to a settlement. Once the truck was recovered they placed the truck back on my policy just this June and back dated it to March 7 th, 2017. Bend chevrolete agreed to give me my independent estimate until CIG stepped in. I never heard from Bend Chevrolete again until I contacted them to find out if the estimate was complete. I was informed that they would not do an estimate for me because the adjuster was coming to do their own and they did not feel it would be worth their time. Later [redacted] or Lorraine called and and requested that the truck be moved from the auto body shop to the mechanic shop which I ubderstood was part of the same company, Bend Chevrolete to have the mechanical estimate complete. I did not receive an estimate until 6/29 via email. No body from CIG went over the estimate with me. I called them on 6/30 and disagreed with all unrelated prior damage and told them very specifically I wanted it towed to Ca. AUTO IMAGE IN my home town where the truck was stolen from. I would not have any repairs done until it was there and I could get my own estimate and that was the shop I chose to dontje repairs. [redacted] stated that the shop that did prior repairs had not even done them correctly and I asked how he came to that conclusion. He said" let me ask you this Mrs. [redacted] what kind of front bumper did you have?" I stated a chrome bumper and he said and I quote" you mean to tell me that the thief spray painted the bumper after they stole it?" Well yes sir I do.  He said CIG would not oay for the truck to be towed back to calofornoa that the only obligation of VIG was to tow it within a hundred miles. I told them I was not paying for it and that it needed to be moved. They did some adjustments on the estimate and waited 2 weeks before contacting me after I still disgreed with the estimate. At the end it was 6 or 7 weeks from the time my truck had arrived at the shop and.they tried to strong arm me into approving the repairs to be done by threatening me with a several thousand dollar storage fee that I would be responsible for if I did not have the mechanical repairs done  there. They then said if I got the repairs done there they would agree to pay the towing fees to have it brought to my home town and to the shop I had chose from the beginning.  CIG has treated me as a criminal not a client. They have falsely accused me of not mailing in my keys at their request although they have a package with Postage for 2 keys and 2 key fabs. They have cut and removed part of the original package the keys were mailed in. They refused to contact the mail carrier telling me that I had to do it. This office is located 14 hours from my home. They showed in a picture one key fab that was attached to a key but claim the they received the packagr undamaged and completely sealed. [redacted] lied to me to obtain a 2nd recorded statement saying the the last claims represenitive had difficulty with the recording equipment so they had to obtain another statement. Then during a 3rd recorded statement compared my answers which were the same during the 1 and 2nd recorded statement. The claim was not settled in a timely manner and now My bank is starting proceedures to reposses the truck we had no idea we would ever see it again after 3 months. It has now been 5 months and we are still not making any headway. Yhe shop it is at now cannot begin repairs until we come to an agreement. I do not forsee that happening. CIG is and employee owned company. They are trying to get out of paying a steep insurance resettlement. They have not acted in good faith. They have treated me poorly. CIG has been in contact with my bank for the loan of the truck without my permission several times. This company is unethical, has no customer service skills, is dishonest,  misleading and horrific to deal with. The reviews alone for this Bakersfield office on Google are frightening. They have gotten away with treating clients bad far too long.
