Capital Landscape Reviews (7)

In response to the complaint (case #[redacted]) filed by Mrs. [redacted] on May 26th, 2016 the reason for the late response is twofold; internally new personnel did not forward the email on to management (an embarrassing oversight), secondly all issues were resolved by June 1st, 2016 therefore making the...

unknown complaint moot. To clarify the complaints issued by Mrs. [redacted], firstly [redacted] (me) did not manage the project. My only contact with Mrs. [redacted] was a phone conversation regarding replacing plants and I simply requested that she choose the plants she liked and we would go buy them and replace the plants she didn’t like. The pipe leak was fixed at no additional cost to the client even though that section of yard was not included in our original scope of work. My foreman took it upon himself to fix, to show a sign of goodwill, this was after he was verbally assaulted by Mr. [redacted] with improper language in the presence of my foreman’s’ eight year old son after working hours. Regarding the caps, we attempted to pass on to Mrs. [redacted] a restocking fee, a fee any reasonable and ethical contractor would ask a client. Ul[redacted]ately, we did not collect for the restocking fee. We did however bill the electrician for the broken caps, which only seems logical. As to the assertion that we would make an insurance claim, I would be insulted if it wasn’t so laughable.Sincerely,[redacted]General ManagerCapital Landscape

We have reached a resolution between Capital landscape and [redacted]. We consider the project closed.Sincerely,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The plants that Capital Landscape replaced are not surviving. The drain they created at the side of the house is clogged with dirt and air conditioner condensate is overflowing on the new concrete. After all the money we spent, $40K, the small flower beds have to be hand watered out front. My complaint with this company goes back to the plans. The plans were never approved properly by us;  they were stuffed into my screen door the day they started work. The project manager said, "No worries." "We'll take care of you!"

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We have provided a written list with a complete timeline for all warranty issues. Weather permitting all warranty issues will be completed by approximately 4/28/17.

Review: Landscape job not complete. Es[redacted]ate was for 2 weeks. Project manager states 1 month. 5 months later job still not complete. Multiple calls and emails stating they will come out and complete the job. Do not show up. Extensive damage to property. Constantly told they will be out to finish the job,but have not finished[redacted] and [redacted],I am aware of all of these issues, I have also contacted the pool company and currently waiting to hear back about repair costs. We could have fixed, but I did not want your pool warranty voided ( I think it is better for them to fix and bill me). I understand your frustration and I am extremely apologetic for the length of [redacted]e this has taken, irrigation should be complete by today. The box, which has been an extreme frustration, I have now been told I can pour in place and add a grate; which I would like to get done by Thursday. The other items I would be happy to discuss at a [redacted]e that is convenient for either or both of you. Additionally, [redacted] is no longer with the firm so you can delete him from further correspondence.Thank you,[redacted],Im not a tremendous fan of walking away from a project but I understand you need to get on with your lives and our performance has been spotty at best. I can release you from the contract with this understanding: Total contract with change order $21,040.25, you have paid to date. $10,160.25 Balalance Owed $10,880.00My actual costs on job (Design services $1,000.00, tree removal $1,100.00, pipe, catch basins irrigation drain rock etc. $6,900.00, labor to date $9,965.00 total $18,965.00)The concrete box and grate Ive had quotes on the high end of $1,500.00 Ill make it $2,000.00 so you are covered. $300.00 for pool equipment, $200 for the fence post, 2 12 basins $450.00, $50.00 for fence boards. That totals $3,000.00. I would still like to repair the concrete when the [redacted]e is approand lay sod and if there is any clean-up. That leaves a remaining balance of $7,880.00 to terminate the contract, Ill deduct another $1,000.00 for the suffering but I would have to get a check for the balance of $6,880.00.Thank you[redacted]Desired Settlement: Job not complete, extensive damage to property that needs to be repaired. We have to move on and hire another company to finish the job as building permits will expire and are very expensive. We do not agree with the offer above to pay an additional 6.880 and have them walk away form the contract. We have to repair our fence in multiple places, repair our driveway, replace our sod, complete the grading and complete the drainage work required by Sacramento County and Water Resources department.

Review: I have "posted" my property with "No Trespassing" signs !On Saturday 3 AUG 2013, I found a door hanger advertisement hanging on my front door. I also found footsteps through my flower bed.By doing the above, I find that his company has "no respect" for private property of others! There is such a thing as attraction rather than promotion!!His company already has several strikes against themselves by not respecting other people's private property and causing damage to it.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like a sign statement from the Owner of this company that he will never do this again to me. In this statement, I want him to say if he ever does it again, I will have him arrested for Trespassing but leaving garbage on my doorstep.

Business' Initial Response

We have hired a canvassing company to distribute door hangers. Mr. [redacted] contacted our office on Monday, August 5, 2013, complaining about a door hanger being left on his door. He was called and apologized to. Further, we have contacted the canvasing company and instructed them to redouble their efforts to not put out door hangers when there is a no solicitation or no trespassing sign posted.

Sincerely,

Capital Landscape
