Capital Nails Reviews (1)

Review: Groupon price of $28.00, was confirmed prior to service with [redacted], employee of Capital Nails, who performed the pedicure service. Payment of $31.58 cash was given to [redacted]. After the service was complete, [redacted] increased the price of the service to $43.00. After asking [redacted] for a receipt, [redacted] informed Capital Nails does not have receipts. I explained the agreed price prior to service with the tip that was included in the $31.58, was the total amount of money being paid. [redacted] requested $43.00 again. I noticed a Sacramento City Parking Officer, Badge# 23 outside and requested the Parking Officer to assist by radio to the Sacramento Police Department to dispatch police officer to Capital Nails. I also requested the Parking Officer stay on site as [redacted] had attempted to prevent me from exiting the salon to flag the Parking Officer's assistance. Officers came to Capital Nails, female officer L. [redacted] Badge# [redacted] and two male officers, [redacted] and [redacted] After I spoke with Officer [redacted] and explained what had transpired, he explained the business may detain me if they believed I was leaving. I explained I was seeking assistance to mediate. All three officers were not successful in mediation. The officers recommended I pay an additional $23.00, to appease [redacted]. I explained to the officers the cash payment was provided to [redacted] of $31.58 already. [redacted] claimed to have only $20.00 paid to her. I reiterated, I paid [redacted] a $20 dollar bill, a $10 dollar bill, a $1 dollar bill and 2 quarters, a nickel, and 3 pennies. Officers explained that they were not there to see me pay the money and suggested I contact the Revdex.com and/or Small Claims Court. I requested a receipt and the owner's name from Officer [redacted] after providing an additional $23.00. Officer [redacted] informed the business does not have receipts and provided a note as receipt. The owner's name provided is [redacted] The telephone number provided for the owner is (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

Initial Business Response

[redacted] and her niece came to capital nails and ask for pedicure. They both have exactly the same service pedicure with the gel french finished. [redacted] and the other lady confirmed pedicure was $23 plus gel french was $20 so total was $43 prior service. [redacted] and her niece agreed this price prior service. After the serviced her niece is happy to paid $43 to the other lady, but [redacted] refused to pay $43 to [redacted]. She hold $31.58 she paid only $20 and put $11.58 back to her purse and try to take off. We noticed a sacramento city parking officer out side and need assist, then they call police officer come over. [redacted] told police officer that she paid us $31.58. we request the police check her purse because we saw she put the money back. The officer check her purse and saw $11.58 in her purse. The Police officer trust us and make [redacted] pay us. [redacted] took that money and went to her car got more money. She gave us $23 more plus $20 earlier. Total [redacted] paid to [redacted] is $43. That is exactly total cost for her service on that day. She want the full service, but she just want to pay less.

In the original complaint [redacted] stated that groupon price of $28 was confirmed prior service. Was she has one? Could she prove it? the answered is no. There is no groupon.

We couldn't refund money back to [redacted] because she has the service done it cost $43 and she paid $43 to [redacted]. That is break even.
