Capital Real Estate Construction Reviews (3)

Review: We hired Capital Construction to install a concrete ramp, sidewalk, and repair a concrete step in the front entryway of our church. The work was completed in August of 2014. The workmanship is supposed to be guaranteed. There are cracks in the concrete sidewalk and ramp. The ramp is really bad. I contacted both the general (Capital Construction) and sub-contractors ([redacted]) multiple times to request that they come out take a look at the project and repair the areas that are cracked. I spoke with [redacted] (the owner of Capital) and [redacted] (the owner of the ([redacted]) on April 10th. They both said they would take care of it and make it right. I have never heard back from either of them. I have left messages on 4/21, 4/24, 4/29, and 5/6. They have not returned any of my calls.Desired Settlement: I just would like them to come out and repair the cracks and honor their craftsmanship guarantee or give me the funds to hire someone else to fix it.

Review: On 1/12/15, @ 12:30pm , I heard a noise, outside my house, & when I went to the window, I saw a dump truck, belonging to Capital Real Estate Construction, driving away, from the front of my house. The men had been working at the house next to me, which happens to be owned by the owner of Capital Real Estate Construction, [redacted]. I then went outside, to see what caused the noise. There was a small pile of dirt, & some scrape marks, on my sidewalk, where one of my heavy, cement, flower pots, had once stood. The dump truck had run over my flower pot, & the loud noise that I had heard, was when they picked it up, & tossed it into the back of the dump truck. I immediately called the phone number, that was on the side of the dump truck, & talked to customer service rep, [redacted]. She called the owner, [redacted], & was told that it was an accident, & that I would be reimbursed. Later, after my wife purchased a replacement cement flower pot, I called, & talked to customer service rep, [redacted], who told me that they would need I receipt. I hand delivered the $75 receipt, to [redacted], at their office, a week later. I have since called, & talked to [redacted] a number of times, & keep getting promises, that it would be taken care of.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of the $75, that we paid for a replacement cement flower pot.

Review: ADDITIONAL BACK UP IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL CLAIMS BELOW.1.There is a wet spot that forms approximately 1 foot into the roof in the vicinity of the chimney when it rains. Capital Construction (CC) states the chimney is the issue however it was not an issue before the new roof was installed. 2.When the roof was being installed, CC assured me the roof was weather tight before leaving each day. There was a rain storm one night and a water spot appeared on our bathroom ceiling. CC's solution was to put one coat of white paint over the immediate area of the water spot. The water spot quickly shown through the one coat of paint. 3.CC installed gutters with a leaf guard not in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. I had a separate contractor fix the issue and CC reimbursed me.4.CC, without permission, posted pictures of my house on their website. 5.There is a leak where the low roof meets the vertical siding to go to a high roof. CC attempted to reflash the area unsuccessfully. CC then stated it was a problem with the siding. CC was paid to fix the siding. The problem was not resolved. I brought in a second contractor who stated the siding appears to be installed correctly and judging from pictures appeared to be installed correctly before CC did their work. The contractor recommended installing exterior flashing as a possible way to economically fix the problem. The contractor was very clear that the only issue the exterior flashing will fix is if the flashing from the roof to vertical siding is incorrect. The contractor installed the exterior flashing and the water intrusion has stopped. Therefore, CC did not flash the roof correctly resulting in water damage to my kitchen and living room ceilings.Desired Settlement: Currently I have a $450 dollar invoice from the contractor who installed the exterior flashing, water spots in my bathroom, kitchen and living room (will cost approxiamtely $500 to repaint), and a wet spot which forms on the roof sheeting in the vicinity of the chimney which I feel Capital Construction is responsible for. Any help you can provide in recouping the spent cost and/or the unspent (future) cost to fix these issues is appreciated.
