I was able to get in touch with the homeowner late afternoon on 6/13/16. We discussed the repair history of their system....
In April '09 system was low on refrigerant and leak repaired. In April '11 unit was low on refrigerant but no leak could be found. May '15 unit was low on refrigerant and determined the coil was leaking. System was out of warranty at that time. On 6/14/16 went to check out system. Found that the indoor TXV was stuck closed and causing the system to freeze up due to coil being starved for refrigerant. Discussed all possible repair options with homeowner. We decided to replace the coil (which comes with a new TXV). Due to the previous issues with the system, LHC agreed to supply the replacement coil in good faith and the homeowner would pay for installation of the coil. Repairs were made on 6/16/16. As of 6/16/16, we considered the matter resolved.
