Review: We signed a contract with Capitol Closet Design on October 21, 2013 to design, produce, and install two walk-in closet organizing systems and one pantry organizing system. We made a 50 percent down payment when we signed the contract. The contracted delivery date was 7-9 weeks and installation was advertised to take 2 days. As of today, March 9, 2014, Capitol Closet Design has only partially delivered the Pantry Organizing system, and what has been delivered is wrong. Since December 2013, my wife and/or I have made multiple status inquiries (via email and phone) to the salesman and designer, [redacted], without any response and I have even made an appearance at their store in [redacted], VA on February 24th where I met and complained to a company employee, (I believe the company employee to whom I complained was named [redacted], but I do not know her last name.) [redacted] acknowledged she had received the daily voice mails from my wife, [redacted], during the prior week and had forwarded all of them to [redacted], the President of the Company. Most of the time, **. [redacted] totally ignores the calls. On the few occasions when **. [redacted] has returned our calls, he would commit to deliver and install the systems on a given date, typically within a few days. My wife would then wait all day for the Closet Company to show up, but they never come. Worse, they never make any calls to say they are not coming. **. [redacted] continues to string us out on our closet and pantry projects by telling us he will deliver within a few days, but after many rounds of failing to deliver on any of his commitments, we are convinced he is not being honest or straight with us. In fact, the latest round of promises and failing to deliver occurred last Friday, March 7th. **. [redacted] assured my wife early that afternoon the crew would be at our house within 90 minutes to install the system, but they never showed up. We are convinced **. [redacted] will say anything just to get us off the phone, but it appears he has no intentions of living up to his commitments. We now have serious doubts about Capitol Closets ability to deliver at all, but yet Capitol Closet has a large amount of our money tied up. As previously noted, **. [redacted] (and [redacted]) have compounded this situation by failing to communicate with us. We do not think it is right or fair for Capitol Closet to continue these delaying tactics with no accountability.Desired Settlement: We have been very patient with Capitol Closet Design. According to our contract, the organizing systems should have been installed 7-9 weeks after contract signing, which should have been mid-December 2013. We are now in the middle of March. Twenty (20) weeks have passed since we signed the contract, (i.e., almost 3-times the advertised delivery schedule) and we still do not have the products installed. (This is well beyond what any customer would consider to be reasonable, given the terms of the contract. In fact, nothing has been delivered on either walk-in closet, and only a partial delivery was made on the pantry system, and what has been delivered on the pantry is wrong.) Ideally, we would like to have all closet systems and the pantry system delivered and installed in the next 2 weeks with the advertised and promised quality that meets customer (our) expectations. If Capitol Closets is unable or fails to deliver and install all systems within the next two weeks with the desired quality, we want to terminate our contract and get our deposit back so we can hire a reputable company to deliver these organizing systems.
