Capitol Fence

I hired CF on 4.4.19 to install a chain link fence and a privacy fence. I paid over $4000 by personal check. I wrote the check out to Robert H, not Capitol Fence. He began the work, but he has not completed it. I talked to him yesterday, he promised his workers would return this morning, however nobody showed up.

The service and installation and follow-up from Capitol Fence was a complete disappointment. We contracted for removal of chain link gates and attached fencing parallel to the front of the house and replacement with vinyl fencing and gates east and west of the house--about 20 feet of fencing with gates. The fences would connect to pre-existing chain link fencing and would abut to the edge of the house.
The installed fence supports and gates were crooked. Trim was used to cover gaps in the gate slats but the trim was not cut straight, looked like it was chewed off and didn't completely cover the gaps between the slats. There were gaps between the house and new fencing big enough to allow our dogs to escape easily after Mr. H told me the dogs would be contained and there would be no problem. The workers came back and "filled in" the gaps with two rusted crooked non capped galvanized pipes. The fencing on the east side of the house was not parallel to the house and obviously crooked as evidenced by a level. There was trim on some sides of the gate and not on other sides. A month after installation while standing in the neighbor's yard we saw a 2 inch by 6 inch hole that appeared to be milled in our fence post-- this could only be seen by standing outside our yard. We called Mr. H on April 29, 2017 and he said he would take care of it but would have to special order a new post. After no response for one month, we called again and left a message. There was no call back. We waited until October and called again. No response. Then in November the lock fell off the fence. My husband fixed the gaps himself and is attempting to fix the lock and will probably somehow try to patch the hole in the post. We really don't want Mr. H and his crew to do any more substandard work at our house. We do want to let others know of his service and what we experienced. It is unfortunate that he has taken advantage of us as consumers. I would feel especially sorry for the consumer dealing with this company who didn't have someone in the family that could do repairs on a job that should be completed by the installing company.
