The work that was performed on the roof was clearly stated in the contractMiss Bracy asked us to repair foam areas that were removed by her contractor to repair dry rot and drains and blend into existing roof for the sale of her houseWe were also asked to put on a elastomeric coating over the entire roof which protects the foam from UV rays, the foam is the water proof membraneWe stand behind the repairs 100% and the coating per the manufacturer warrantyWe would be happy to sit down and go over the contract line by line and pictures with a member of the Revdex.com and Miss Bracy anytimeWe don't feel there is any merit to Miss ***'s complaint, she states "new roof system" but leaves out the word "coating"

I am rejecting this response because: We asked TRS and another company for estimates on a new roof The other company stated that the roof was so "severely deteriorated" that a new roof was required The other company gave an estimate for a new roof coating at just $more than TRS The proposal and contract states "NEW ROOF COATING SYSTEM" which is the same terminology used by the other roofing company The multiple roofing companies I have spoken with about this situation have all told me separately that it was clear that we needed a new roof and that we are being taken advantage of by this roofer I have a third-party roofing company willing to meet a representative from CSLB at the property to discuss the roof type and go over the contracts and estimates to prove that we needed a new roof They are not one of the companies that bid the job last year, but one that I consulted with about this problem We believed we were getting a new roof We have now paid an additional $for repairs to the roof and interior from all the damage from the leaks Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:
TRS mentions in their most recent reply that they have emails from the person who invited them to provide an estimate for a new roof *** and I agreed we needed a new roof and that she would get at least two estimates for a new roof TRS was one of them The two estimates were just $apart with TRS being the lower of the two TRS has never sent me anything from ***, so I don't understand why they are bringing that up now
Most damaging is the fact that they are in the business and are implying that they did not notice the roof needed to be replaced despite how severely deteriorated it was It is unconscionable that they should only have done repairs on such a roof
They charged almost the same amount for "repairs" that others charge for a completely new roof
The contract states:
APPLICATION OF THE NEW ROOF COATING SYSTEM
TOTAL APPROXIMATE SQUARE FEET (THE HOUSE IS LESS THAN SQUARE FEET)
AN SPF ROOFING SYSTEM WILL BE THE SUPERIOR CHOICE WHEN THE FOLLOWING IS CONSIDERED:
* Seamless application can virtually eliminate leaks reducing the risk of deterioration of building components and/or mold* Superior insulation reflective coating reduces energy expenditures and allows the roof to pay for itself* SPF Roofs are completely renewable eliminating expensive tear-offs and disruption of living conditions
Thank you

of her house. We were also asked to put on a elastomeric coating over the entire roof which protects the foam from UV rays, the foam is the water proof membrane. We stand behind the repairs 100% and the coating per the manufacturer warranty. We would be happy to sit down and go over the contract line by line and pictures with a member of the Revdex.com and Miss Bracy anytime. We don't feel there is any merit to Miss [redacted]'s complaint, she states "new roof system" but leaves out the word "coating"

Our first response was rejected by Miss [redacted], we have printed out every email sent by [redacted] who we had all our correspondence with, to support what was asked of us and which set the scope of work to be done. Her contractor removed the foam in the bad areas, repaired areas and replaced some drains. we were asked to replace and feather in new foam over repaired areas and replaced drains only, NOT re-foam entire roof. we did infact put an new Title 24 compliant elastomeric roof coating over the existing elastomeric roof coating on the foam roof. We would be more than happy to sit down with a representative from the CSLB to go over all documentation and contract. If anyone should be meeting the CSLB at the property it should be us to properly represent our selves one on one. Thank you for your time.

I am rejecting this response because:
1. We asked TRS and another company for estimates on a new roof
2. The other company stated that the roof was so "severely deteriorated" that a new roof was required
3. The other company gave an estimate for a new roof coating at just $400 more than TRS
4. The proposal and contract states "NEW ROOF COATING SYSTEM" which is the same terminology used by the other roofing company.
5. The multiple roofing companies I have spoken with about this situation have all told me separately that it was clear that we needed a new roof and that we are being taken advantage of by this roofer.
6. I have a third-party roofing company willing to meet a representative from CSLB at the property to discuss the roof type and go over the contracts and estimates to prove that we needed a new roof.  They are not one of the companies that bid the job last year, but one that I consulted with about this problem.
7. We believed we were getting a new roof.
8. We have now paid an additional $7480 for repairs to the roof and interior from all the damage from the leaks.

Thank you.

Review: We asked two roofing companies for an estimate for a NEW roof. Each inspected the roof and gave an estimate. The TRS contract says "NEW roof system." We paid them for a NEW roof. Now that the roof is leaking they claim that they were only hired to do repairs and that the repairs were not done to the portion of the roof that is leaking. The other roofer said the roof, which was 49 years old, was "severely deteriorated" and needed to be replaced. Their estimate for a new roof was only $400 more than TRS. We went with TRS.1. They charged $250 to "transfer" the warranty to the buyers. All the roofers I spoke with since say the warranty goes with the roof, not the customer and that we should not have been charged to transfer the warranty.2. When the leak developed less than a year later they refused to honor the warranty. They claimed they only did repairs to the roof. When I asked why their repairs did not hold, they claimed they did not repair the portion of the roof that was leaking. 3. They charged an ADDITIONAL $5830 to repair the area of the roof that leaked. 4. I have spoken to three roofing companies since the leak developed and they all said the cost of a new roof for that house, which is less than 2000 square feet, would have cost approximately what we paid.As the owner of a professional property management company with 672 properties, I oversee hundreds of repairs and replacements each month and have a lot of experience obtaining estimates and assigning work. This is not a case where we misunderstood what we were getting. It is a clear case of the roofing company doing shoddy work and not honoring their warranty. We want a refund of the $8497 we paid.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a refund of $7182 of the initial $8497 we paid since they are claiming that was just for repairs and we thought we were getting a new roof. We clearly did not have a meeting of the minds which is one of the legal requirements of a valid contract, thus, our contract is void. The $5830 we just paid them is for repairs, so that amount is justified.Thank you.
