The adage about "if it sounds too good to be true..." really applies to Captain Mike's Marine Services. If I could I would change his name to "Captain Crook". This guy, Mike Brill was selling a used boat. We wrote up a contract and I gave him a partial/half deposit of $2,500 due to the bank limit amount on etransfers. As soon as I sent it he writes me back that he has another buyer for more money and if I wanted the deal I had to match it. I immediately cancelled the transaction and got my money back. He shortly thereafter notifies me that his "other buyer" fell through, he now had to unload it because he now had to remove it from storage and did I still want the boat. I offered a reduced price and now that he didn't have to replace all the vinyl seating, as part of the original purchase agreement, a much lower deposit, which resulted in a new contract and he electronically signed and accepted it. After I sent the much smaller deposit, which he electronically accepted, in accordance with the new purchase agreement, which he electronically signed, he demanded a greater deposit in order for him to deliver the boat for sea trial and survey, which was written into the purchase agreement. I refused to do that. I informed him that if he wanted out of our contract simply return my $400 deposit. He refused to return my deposit. He had no reason or explanation for his refusal. He provided no service and delivered no goods. He simply refused to honour the revised agreement.
