Captured Eyes Photography Reviews (4)

Review: My husband and I hired [redacted] to be the photographer for our Oct. 5, 2013 wedding. We signed a contract approx 03/26/2013 and even did our engagement photos with him in approx August 2013. We received our engagement photos within two weeks and they were great. Approx two weeks prior to our wedding we paid [redacted] in full. He showed up as scheduled and stayed as scheduled for photographs on the day of our wedding. To date we have not received our wedding pictures, it has been more than five months. At the begining of Feb. 2014 [redacted] stated he sent our photos out and that if we did not receive them in a few days to contact him so he could resend them certified mail. After that he stopped responding to texts and phone calls. We upheld our end of the contract and paid for the services requested. [redacted] also collected sale taxes at the time of the contract, which I will be reporting to the IRS and FTB. He no longer has a website up as I assume he is no longer 'in business'. If this is not resolved by March 5 2014, I will be filing a lawsuit against [redacted].Desired Settlement: The only resolution to this issue is for [redacted] to provide us with all of our edited wedding photos and a partial refund. Our contract also stated we would receive a wedding book, but I can see now that is out of the question.

Consumer

Response:

After quite a bit of time of receiving no response from the photographer, I was able to get in contact with a family member of his and inform them of what was going on. After this, I finally received my wedding photos and the photographer took it upon himself to provide me with a partial refund.

Review: Hired wedding Captured Eyes Photography ([redacted]). He has not delivered our wedding pictures as agreed.

Hired Captured Eyes Photography for my wedding on 08/17/2013. [redacted] was paid in full. We had a verbal contract in which [redacted] agreed to first deliver photos within 2 weeks of wedding and then due to some personal problems changed the date to November. I waited for Pictures in November. Towards the end of November I contacted [redacted] to inform him I had not received pictures and I also told him that I had printed the 3 preview pictures and that our faces came out blurry. He used this as an excuse to postpone sending me pictures. He asked me to send him the 3 pictures I developed to look at the issue. I sent him the pictures twice which he claims he didn't receive. I finally asked that he send me the pictures and I would redevelop and if there was an issue he would correct it. He agreed and on December 9, 2013 he said he would mail pictures on December 10 ,2013. It is now December 23. [redacted] is not responding to my emails or phone calls and has not contacted me to inform me about what is happening. It has been 4 months since the wedding. After all this he recently added on his website that pictures take anywhere from 1-5 months. It will be 5 months on January 17. He does not include the time frame on his contract but does fail to keep his verbal contract.Desired Settlement: Please send our wedding pictures and album as agreed.

Review: Hired Captured Eyes Photography to photograph my wedding for 5 hours of service time and receive all the images edited on a disc. [redacted] (owner/operator), stated that my photos would be ready within three weeks after my wedding. It has now been two and a half months since the wedding, and I still do not have a single photo. I have continuously tried to contact [redacted] via email and telephone and have not heard back from him for over three weeks.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like to have all my wedding photos on a disc and edited.

Business

Response:

Business' Initial Response

Basically I was the photographer hired for [redacted] & [redacted]'s wedding. I told them I was shooting for 5 weeks to finish their photos when I left the wedding, however due to personal issues that have arisen over the past couple months has put a delay on not only their photos but my other clients too. In the contract they signed to reserve my services it never stated that I was to have their photos finished by a certain date, so legally I am not at fault they are just simply being impatient. I was not able to be in contact with her recently because I have been in the hospital, but at this moment I am still editing their photos, however, it take 3-4 hours of my own personal time to edit 100 photos, and this is very time consuming which I don't think they realize. Now I'm sure you understand I'm not going to be sitting at my computer night and day editing photos I have a personal life I have to attend to as well, being that I have another part time job besides being a photographer, and go to school. I have recently left a voicemail message on [redacted]'s cell phone trying to find out what she wants to do, but have not heard back.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

Spoke with the photographer, and my photos are still not ready more than 3 1/2 months later. About half of the photos are edited thus far and he stated that he can get the rest finished within the next week. I also asked for 25% refund for the inconvience. I will be satisfied when I receive my wedding photos (edited) and a partial refund. I feel that this is more than fair considering the circumstances.

Review: We paid and hired [redacted] to take our engagement and wedding photos. We received our engagement photos in a reasonable time, however our wedding was 5 months ago and we have yet to receive a single photo. His website stated (he closed the website)we should receive our photos within 5 months. When I asked him to email me a couple of photos he said of course, it has been 3 weeks and I am still waiting.I tried a different approach of gathering our photos by stating I would drive to Davis to meet him anywhere at anytime to pick up a new CD (he claimed he mailed one about a month ago now and we never got it - we still do not have it). I am still waiting to hear back from him as he is great at finding excuses as to why he is too busy to drop off a new CD anywhere at time he chooses. I would highly recommend finding a new photographer if you have yet to have any photos taken. Even if you have made a partial payment, run! He makes you pay in full before he takes any photos, something my husband and I regret as there is no reason for him to feel the need to get us our photos. What kind of person feels it is alright to deny something that they not only paid for, but a huge moment and milestone in their life? He clearly does not care about the people he is hired by, and quite frankly not someone you would want for a photographer.Desired Settlement: I wish to receive a CD of ALL (our contract stated we would receive a CD of an unlimited number of photos) of the wedding that he has taken of our wedding that have been edited as listed in our contract.
