I also have family members who have purchased vehicles n r having the dame issues!! This company is not honest, the owner hangs up on you when u call about an issue with the vehicle, he charges more down payment, instead of the standard, TEN PERCENT!!! The owner thinks that a buyer is DESPERATE for a vehicle, in which we r NOT!!!

Brad G** sold me a [redacted] with mechanical issues, he not only risked me and my family's safety but those of other drivers, that share the road with my vehicle. I complained once to them about vibrations and shuttering while driving and now with under 3,000 miles driven on the vehicle they are back.

Very nice guys who all seemed to go out of their way to help... There are a lot of dealerships that advertise "bad credit / no problem" but they really meant it. No hassles, no back and forth, which is the WORST PART of buying a used car.
45 minutes later I drove off the lot in a 2013 [redacted], the same brand of car that another "bad credit / no problem" dealership couldn't get me approved on.

Review: we bought a Ford Explorer from Car city. not even 2 weeks after having the truck, the rear wheel bearing went and we almost got into a car accident with it, the tranny is slipping, it slams every gear.Desired Settlement: Cash for a new car

Review: On October 31, 2013, the salesman at Car City of Danbury, CT ran my credit without my permission. In fact, I specifically told him that I did not want my credit run until I found a car that I was interested in purchasing and gave him to the ok to proceed. I have been working on improving my credit score and this transaction will stay on my credit report for 2 years. It also has a negative impact on my score. The agency used by Car City was:Lender: Industry:Inquiry Date:Status:1. [redacted] Finance Oct 31, 2013 AddedDesired Settlement: I wish to have this removed from my credit report and for Car City to wait until a customer requests to have their credit approved.

Review: I bought a [redacted] Wagon on April 23,2014. Since driving it off of the sales lot, I have encountered many problems that have not been properly dealt with. The main problem has been with the temperature gauge in the car I purchased. I was driving home when I first noticed the temperature gauge going dangerously high. I then pulled over and called Car City to speak to the owner. I was advised to bring the car right back so they could look at the car to see what the problem was. They replaced the fuse to the radiator cooling fans, citing it had blown. So, off I went to go home again. Approximately a week later, the same issue arose. I then proceeded to call Car City, again, for them to look at the car. Second repair attempt was replacing the thermostat. A few days after the thermostat was replaced, the temperature start rising again. This prompted me to not only make another phone call to Car City but, to get a second opinion on what was wrong with my car from another auto shop. Also, I tried to diagnose the issue by looking at my coolant levels and coolant color in both the radiator and reserve tank to discover motor oil mixing in the coolant reserve tank. That is indicative of a head gasket issue. I have several friends that are mechanics and, after telling them what the car had been doing, they all said the same thing as the issue; a head gasket leak. Therefore, I went to Car City, once again, to speak to the owner about possibly repairing the issue, and to let him know what my multiple other sources believed the problem to be. Needless to say, the issue was NOT dealt with, as they performed a full coolant flush. By this time, the extended warranty was almost over. I proceeded to make another attempt to have my car repaired after the coolant flush didn't solve the problem only to find that nobody was at the business shortly after their opening. Since then, I have had other issues pointed out with the car that I would like repaired. Other parts listed below.Desired Settlement: I would like my car to be properly repaired at the cost of Car City of Danbury. I, however, do NOT want the repairs to be performed by Car City in fear it will not be done correctly and would like to have a shop of my choosing perform the work. Such work would include: internal head gasket leak, external head gasket leak to cylinder, CV boots, rear brake pads and rotors, etc. I would also need alternate transportation while such repairs are being performed, i.e. rental car.

Review: I purchased a car from car city of Danbury a week and a half ago. It is a 2009 [redacted] aura. I was told my car would be ready for pick up the next day, Tuesday February 18th. When I arrived at 530 pm that day, my car wasn't ready. At the time of my purchase, my salesman, [redacted] assured me that if there was ever a problem not to worry because they would provide me with a loaner car. That night they did. They gave me a [redacted] . With one headlight and the check engine light on. I was pulled over twice because of the headlight . Finally that Thursday, my car was ready. Before I even pulled out of the parking lot, the oil light, the tire monitor light, the airbag light and the check engine light were ALL on. They were able to reset all but the tire and airbag lights. They told me I would have to bring it back another day so they can send the car to [redacted]. A week after picking up the car, my transmission went. I struggled to at least make it home. I called car city and asked for [redacted] , they told me he was off. The transferred me to [redacted] , an owner. I was upset and explained to him that I've only had the car a week and my transmission broke. I had no reverse, and the car was jerking all over the place. He immediately became defensive and stated that I was "berating and abusing " him. I told him that I'm a single mom with a full time job... I need my car. He told me that " I better get un upset" and that he is under no obligation to provide me with a loaner. He told me that he would send a tow truck at some point Saturday to pick up the car. I asked how I can go about getting a car in the meantime. He said it really isn't his problem and to rent a car. [redacted] said Saturday morning that they would cover the rental. Because "they have no dealer plates". I was just informed that they THINK my car will be ready Friday. And they will only pay 3 days of the rental. This place is a disgrace. Everything they told me to buy the car was a lie. There's more but it won't fitDesired Settlement: I would like the FULL cost of my rental paid by car city, since at the time of purchase I was promised a loaner if there was ever a problem. I find it very hard to believe that a dealer doesn't have plates.I am paying a car payment for a car I can't drive and only had a week. Car City should compensate me for my trouble. I was going to wait until my warranty was up to file any complaints, but the way I am being treated is disgusting.

Review: I financed a Toyota Matrix 2005 @ Car City in Danbury, CT on 7/20/13. The car had some issues that needed repair especially a large piece that was making a loud & very noticeable noise. [redacted] the owner said that he would take care of all the issues & since I bought warranty for the 2 years I should be covered at any auto repair shop. [redacted] promised me for about 3 months that he would fix the car. I called and called so many times asking him to fix the car as promised. He then kept making promises & several excuses. He told me to bring the car in and that I would be getting a rental. I went to his office several times in attempts to have him repair the car. Finally, he had one of his workers named [redacted] call me. [redacted] also promised to have scheduled appt to pick up my car and leave me the rental. However; she never kept her promise or even called me back after several attempts of contacting her. In my desperation at one point - I went down to Toyota Shop so they can service my car instead However; Toyota needs $110 upfront just for the diagnostic and the repairs come out of pocket - Toyota then submitts the paperwork to the Warranty Department and hopefully they will send me a check to reimburst unlike what I was told that nothing besides normal car upkeep will come out of pocket. [redacted] knows that I need my car since I am a single mother of 3 children & I am a case worker who's main job is to transport clients back and forth @ [redacted]. He didn't take any of that into cosideration & I believed him when he said he promised to have all of the car issues fixed and he only took care of some of the issues but not the main job ie large piece that is making the noise. I went in by myself with my daughter and now I financed a car totally $14,000 that is messed up. The last time I contacted [redacted] to please take the car. I believe was in late October of beginning of November. I am beyond frustrated and I need my car fixed in other to keep my job!!! & take care of my children!!! Please help Me *Desired Settlement: I would like my car completed fixed like promised or another replacement Toyota car only.

Review: I was in the process of purchasing a car from Carcity of Danbury. I met with the owners son, [redacted], who struck me as your typical car sales person boasting constantly about how long hed been in the business & how many cars hes sold but I looked past that, I had no choice. My dilemma; there company is one that deals with people who have bad credit & cannot get a affordable loan or financing to purchase a car on their own. Being a woman who is somewhat savvy when it comes to cars & such; I decided to purchase a car from them; with my only apprehension, at first being the whole car payments deal but I said its something I have to do & it will be a good investment as well as making the payments will help boost my credit score. So I went in to sign the contracts on May 24, 2013 & give all of my personal information with a $500 cash deposit & the trade-in value of my car (2001 [redacted] DHS with only 78,000 miles on it & in good running condition) of $1700. [redacted], the salesman I dealt with at Carcity of Danbury, got my loan of approx $16,000 approved & financed through a banking affiliate of theirs in Massachusetts called [redacted]. Now, while in [redacted]s office signing the paperwork he explained he does all of the legwork getting the information to the bank, transferring the plates & registering the new car so once all that was done all I needed to do was bring my car with the title & swap. The ONLY thing [redacted] explained I would need to do was call my car insurance company & transfer my insurance which I did.He set my expectations that since I signed the contract on that Thursday (May24th) & fulfilled all my obligations with his paperwork; I would be able to pick up my new car on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. This did not happen! He emailed me stating FedEx did not make their delivery with the title for the 2010 [redacted] Altima probably due to the Memorial day holiday but it should be delivered the next day, Wednesday May 29th, fine! This is where the doubts & the unsatisfactory customer service got really bad & my slight apprehension turned into stressful fear!!!!! Wednesday morning (May29th) I get a call at my job from a lady asking me to verify my credit application & employment verification. Mind you, she never introduced herself or from what business she was calling from so right away I become very defensive and leery with all of the reports every day I identity theft. After I asked her a few questions she clarified who she was & why she was calling. Mind you, I am still a bit skeptical because I was not told by [redacted] the car salesman that the bank would be contacting me directly for anything that is why HE asked for all my verification information, pay stub, bank statement, home address verification, etc. So from a professional level, I cooperated with the lady from the [redacted] bank and verified my info. Then the frustration compounds!! I get transferred to another banking agent who proceeds to tell me Carcity still has not sent my file so she needs me to give her my credit card information that my weekly payments will automatically be debited from..I am livid at this point!!! I complete my call with the bank, courteously & professionally. I then email the car salesman [redacted], because one, he never picks up his phone & two I wanted proof of our conversation. Now while I am emailing him stating my feelings of an unsatisfactory customer experience, another sales person from Carcity calls me, keep in mind this is Wednesday May 29th still & I am supposed to be going to pick up the Altima after work, stating the bank, [redacted], did not fill out the car title correctly & my picking up the car will now be delayed until Thursday, May 3oth!! Of course my first reaction was of sheer frustration but I calmed down and asked the gentleman I was speaking with to leave a message for [redacted] to call me first thing Thursday morning. This brings us to today, Thursday May 30th, where once again I just get to work & the bank calls me again to still verify information that according to the bank the car dealership has still not provided them. I comply with the banking agent & then get a call from the car dealership! Its not the salesman who sold me the car, [redacted], its the owner of the dealership & his father, [redacted] (see additional attachment from website false advertisement!!) who says to me once I answer the phone, whats your problem, do you want the car or not? What owner of a business calls a customer and speaks to them like that!!! When he said that I quickly replied, Since you want to talk to me like that, cancel my contract, keep your car & refund me my cash deposit of $500 I refuse to do business with you!! He quickly replies, I am not cancelling anything or refunding you anything, I just called to ask you a few questions to see if you still want the car due to your email you sent to [redacted] getting smart with him & all that nonsense! I dont think you are a person I want to do business with or sell my car to!! At this point, I am beyond livid, I tell him, you will refund my money or I will sue you!!! And he hangs up on me!!!I readily called the bank who is financing my loan to cancel my loan & get told I am bound to this contract because I signed it!!! Yes I signed a contract but I never took actual ownership of the car, never signed the title, nothing!!!!! Then banking agent, [redacted] then tells me I have to deal with the car dealership to cancel anything; basically blowing me of! I am beyond done with these people, they are not taking my calls or answering my emails now & I refuse to drive all the way to Danbury Connecticut just to get MORE frustrated than I already amHelp me [redacted] please!!!! I need a voice that can get through to these crooks!! I am an honest hard working woman who depends on no one! I have no family, no support, nothing & I feel like C

Review: One month after purchasing the vehicle from car city I was having problems with it. They have tried to fix it on many occasions but have failed yet I had to pay for the repairs. I now have to take the vehicle to a dealership to be repaired and once again I have to pay out of pocket. And also a deep scratch on the door that I was told when I purchased the vehicle can be buffed out but later was told by there mechanic that the scratch was too deep. I also need that repaired.

Desired Settlement: I would like car city to help pay for the repairs of my vehicle once I get a quote from jeep. Im willing to meet half way.

Review: On Saturday, April 19, 2014 I purchased a 2004 Honda CRV at Car City from the owner. He assured us the car was in excellent condition. We drove 1.5 hours to see this car to realize it had multiple issues, including a side impact collision, which the owner denied. There was a severe vibration in the front end at high speed, the backside of the driver side seat had a large tear, the computer was reset causing the radio to ask for a code, a new serpentine belt was needed, the engine compartment was filthy, the vehicle needed detailing, all the fluids needed to be flushed & filled & the emergency brake needed adjusting. The owner sat with us & hand wrote a list of all the things that needed to be fixed, promised that he would have it taken care of in 3 or 4 days. He offered me a 30 day warranty that began the day I bought the vehicle. I called on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 5 times before I picked up the car to make sure it was completed. Each time, I was told it's ready to go. I left work 4 hours early on Friday to pick up the car to find out that none of the fluids had been flushed or filled, the car was in fact not buffed, the e brake was not adjusted, seat still ripped & vibration still in front end. Wasted a week of my warranty already. Owner went for a drive with us & said we were making up the vibration, but if we took it to a Honda dealer he would take care of it. After 3 days of having the vehicle, the engine light came on, which cost me $158 to fix, the owner refused to cover any of that cost. It cost me $110 to bring it to the dealer and they said that he put aftermarket CV axles in it which would cause the vibration. You need to use OEM parts. They also said that the CRV was in need of a new clutch. I got this in writing & faxed it, emailed and mailed it to the owner, who after much prompting for a response told me that he would do nothing to fix this vehicle & that I must have paid off the dealer to lie on the paperwork. Also told me that the world doesn't revolve around me! Crook!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the repairs that were completed, the Honda dealer diagnostic fee and need to be completed. This includes the ECT sensor, thermostat, OEM CV Axles, clutch and labor and tax for all repairs. These repairs cost a total of $2,975.38.
