Just bought my 2014 Toyota Corolla is an amazing car buying experience I did not feel pressured Tony explained everything I love my new car thank you for making it easy buying that will recommend definitely Thank you car city

Rating this company a one star is being generous. I have never ran into a dealership that was so mismanaged and underhanded and that is being generous. We left the dealer with a signed purchase agreement to get the approval from our banker and after waiting for 2 hours for the bank to approve and cut the check, we go back to the dealer and they tell us, oh, were sorry, we are selling the truck to the guy who is test driving it right now. First of all, its a test drive, so you had no idea he wanted the truck. And then to tell us, that he came first, when we had an agreement, is just outright lying. I am going to assume he was willing to pay more for the truck which is why we were pushed out. I have never dealt with a dealership that worked this way. If you have an agreement with someone, you do the honorable thing and you sell the vehicle to them. To renege on an agreement is misrepresentation and fraud and this company succeeded in both.

Car City Response • Dec 08, 2018

In reply to your review, we would like to share our side of the story . Customer came in and we provided them with a purchase agreement with the exact numbers they would need to purchase car . We signed the agreement stating these numbers were true and would by the car , however the customer did not and expressed they did not want to sign the agreement on their end until they had financing arrangement with their lender . At that point customer left and we did not have a full commitment to buy the truck. Unfortunately for them we had another customer come in and wanted to buy the truck and while they were test driving it the original customer came back and wanted to buy it . Our dealership policy is whoever is in house at the time and is the vehicle has first right to purchase and the they decided to buy the truck . It is an unfortunate and rare situation but if we cannot hold vehicles without firm commitments for anyone and we have people expressing interest in vehicle and we cannot hold a vehicle on a maybe we have to sell to the first person who commits to buying it . I know the customer came back in and said we will take it ,but it would not be fair to the current customer driving it either as they technically here first expressing interest the first time. We did offer to find customer similar vehicle and price match or discount one of our other trucks in inventory and customer declined .

Customer Response • Dec 11, 2018

In response to the comments from the dealership, we were never offered a price match on a similar vehicle. While in the dealership, our salesman Mike told us there was nothing he could do and that was ALL that he said. At that time we left and then proceeded to call as we were very upset. Once on the phone, the salesman who answered suggested he could "make a deal" on another truck. Not that they would price match, or do anything to help out the situation that had just occurred. No one offered to find a similar vehicle and price match or discount another truck in the inventory as stated above. We were just told the traditional salesman speech, "come back in and let's make a deal on another vehicle". If the dealership's policy is a first come first serve basis, then I would assume as a good salesman, Mike would have asked for a deposit to hold the truck as he knew we were waiting on financing. We kept in touch with him while we were waiting for the financing to come through and sat in the parking lot waiting. We had given a full verbal commitment to the salesman Mike and explained it was 100% financed and we would need to get that done and make sure it would go through. If the situation is rare, I would think as a dealership, you would have told the customer test driving it, that there was someone on it and if they did not purchase they would sell to them as we were sitting in your parking lot, waiting. My husband spent months looking for the perfect truck and once he found one, he was all set to go. As a USMC vet, he is trained to show respect and be respected as well and had the dealer offered a price match, an apology, or anything respectful while we were there, this would have gone a long way to making this a better situation. As it is, when you have a purchase agreement and are sitting in a dealers parking lot waiting for your financing to go through, and kept in contact with your salesman during the process, that is an assumed sale. I have been in the sales business for over 20 years and had I done this to a client or customer, it would be fraudulent and bad business practices. If the dealer wishes to try and make this right, they are more than welcome to try.

I purchased a car from here and I have had nothing but problems.
The radio didn't work and when I contacted them, they said that they would install a new radio if I paid for half. However they installed a used radio (which also doesn't work) and wanted me to pay $150.
Part of the dash fell off and they will not fix it.
Whenever I hit a bump, the rear driver side door makes a horrible noise. They took the car for 2 days and could not figure out what is causing this.
Whenever I take the car by to have things repaired, they tell me the mechanic is busy. I have also asked for them to trade this vehicle for another and they won't do that either.

Desired Outcome

I spent a lot of money on this vehicle and with the issues I'm having, I would like for them to discount the price.

In response to the complaint the Customer *** has since brought the truck back in ,since complaint was made and we have replaced the radio and addressed the issues as stated . He left here satisfied with our agreement. We also strive here to take care of our customers and even though these were not issues covered by the powertrain only warranty he received we took care of our customer.

I purchased a car 4 months ago from Car City, contingent on them fixing an oil leak, loud exhaust and other minor issues that were found. After they already had their money on a Saturday I was contacted on Monday by my salesman Dave M. to come get my "fixed" car. The oil leak was not fixed per our agreement. It was taken into the "mechanic" on Merle Hay Rd and they were going to look at it and fix it this time. The second time we received the car back it still was seeping and leaking. We then proceeded to take it to their shop on SE 14th St. They looked at it and fixed it this time for the third time. Well lo and behold it still was leaking and parts that were on the car at the time I took it in were missing and/or not put back correctly and I stated to them I didn't feel comfortable taking it back to their mechanics. They looked at it the 4th time and said they couldn't find a leak and we ended up this time at *** who fixed it correctly on the 4th time as they had put something on backwards causing it to still leak.
Now on the 4th month of owning this car my fans were not working which caused the car to start overheating and that shouldn't happen on a car I just got. It ended up being a ground wire bolt that was not tightened up correctly which probably happened when my transmission was taken out to fix the oil problem.
I would definitely not purchase a car from them if I were you and if you do, look at literally everything.
I was told by Dave that they wanted to make it right but it's a little late to make it right after the 3rd time of messing things up and I was spoken to in a very condescending tone almost every time and as a paying customer I expected to be treated with respect and talked to like a human being not talked down to. I emailed Gregg a couple times also who not once thought he should actually respond to my inquiries and concerns. My first instinct of not purchasing this car was correct and I wish this car was never purchased.

April, Thank you for taking a moment to review our dealership! However, I am deeply disappointed in your rating. Lets recap. You purchased a 10 year old Saturn Aura with over 115000 miles for *** dollars. Initially we thought the oil seep was the valve cover gaskets, which of course we repaired. Then because the main seal showed a little wetness (which is generally the case on 10 yr old vehicles with 115k miles plus) we replaced.. NO CHARGE to you. When you were still not satisfied, we agreed to take the Saturn to *** and pay a *** an hour shop rate, and finally had it repaired. Total Cost in repairs Car City $2138, You $00.00. There are certain expectations when buying 10 year old vehicles with over 115000 miles for *** dollars. So instead of complaining show some appreciation, for a dealer that did what we said we would do at all costs. Gregg Moyer Owner Car City

When I went to Car City I wanted to look at a Kia Soul, sadly the one we were looking at was a manual. We were about to leave and Muhammad *** came outside and said that they had just gotten another Kia Soul! He was very personable and answered all of our questions. We couldn't test drive the car because it was getting detailed in the shop, but as soon as it was out he called us and made sure we were the first to test drive! I definitely recommend talking him when you go in there, seriously the best experience I've had at any car dealership.
