!!!WARNING!!!
I do not recommend doing business with this company! If I had the option to select no stars, I would. The customer service is non-existent. They rarely answer their phones and when they do, they are exceedingly rude. I ordered an ECM for my Dodge Durango and it didn't function properly with my vehicle. I returned it according to instructions provided by the sales department and they never responded to inform me that they received the unit or that a refund was being processed. To contact someone regarding a refund, they instruct you to email their refund department, which I did. I never received a single response from those emails. When I finally was notified of my refund by the sales department 2 weeks later, they refunded less than half of of the money I initially spent. In my experience, Carcomputerexchange.com was a company devoid of ethics. Do not allow yourself to become another of their victims.

Ordered a part for my Ford Explorer, part came in and didn't workThe car wouldn't even turn onSent it back and they told me it wasn't defective so if I wanted a refund they would charge me a restocking feeEnded up refunding only half of the purchase priceHad to open disputes and claimsNo response ever!!!!! It took two weeks just to get the part and two weeks to hear back from themDon't order from them ever!

Do not order a PCM from this company - go with a local shop or dealerWe waited over a week to get the unitmechanics (including one at the dealership) said the unit was badIt took an additional weeks for the car to get fixed - with a PCM from the dealership - and we paid WAY more in labor than if we had just gone with someone local to begin withThis company charged us $to return the unit - (for a "flash fee" and a restock fee.) They may be good at other things - but - AVOID ordering a PCM online from themHorrible experience

Ordered an ECM module for a RAVTwo modules sent were defectiveThe second one they sent was the same one I originally sent from my car (I marked it)It's been months and they so far have not refunded any of my $I spent over $on rental cars and a factory ECM module to correctI have emailed and called several times over the last four months seeking my refund with no results

I just received my PCM Module yesterday in which it came within 4-5 days, I will be replacing my old one this morning.
I sure hope I don't have to return it for another one or have to take it to a dealership to have it programmed being that I bought my PCM with it being Programmed already ([redacted]). I need my van for work and cannot wait any longer, so I will take all the reviews I've read Negative and Positive and Hope for the Positive... Wish me luck.

I am very upset to see the bad reviews they got from the guy with the durango.

I had trouble with my computer, and set it to them for an exchange, and after a few tries, it worked fine. As a do it yourselfer this is a great service, the dealer wanted about a thousand dollars to diagnose and fix the problem. I've got a 04 caravan, worth $3000 max so that wasn't an option

This is an area of mechanics that the car manufacturers intentionally
make extremely opaque to us, the users. It stands to reason that it
might take several times to get things working correctly. If you don't
understand that, go to a mechanic. My experience was a little bit clunky,
but it was $219 instead of $1000. This is a great service. Remember the
car manufacturers are actively trying to drive these people out of
business.

However, I would like someone to post this review, that they at all
times were courteous and replaced my computer twice until it worked,
and didn't complain at all, and I only paid the second shipping. For
most of us backyard mechanics, this is (hopefully) a once in a lifetime
experience to deal with the iron curtain put up by the car companies to get their product to work without paying them the extortionate prices they charge to fix their
own products.

Keep u[ the good work.

I am very displeased with this company. The claim is that the units being purchased are 'Plug and Play'. Yet, I had 3 different units sent to me, each taking over a week to receive, and neither one of them worked. They continued to say it was something wrong with my security system.

I finally hired someone locally to reprogram the computer and they said the previous programming was all off for my vehicle.

I called Car Computer Exchange to let them know this information. I spoke to [redacted]. She told me there was nothing they can offer me in terms of refund for sending non-working units. On top of it all, because I had to reprogram the computer, they voided my warranty and then she HUNG UP ON ME!

Completely dissatisfied with this company and I hope they learn some better customer service skills!

Will not refund cost of computer and expedited shipping, defective computer. On June 2, 2016 I ordered (from [redacted]) (order #[redacted]5) (1) [redacted] car computer product Code 200I53 from Car exchange for $398.95 which included shipping and return label. I had it sent ot [redacted] Transsmission in Richmond, TX so they could install it. After proper installation following instructions from Car Exchange, it caused my transmission to shift worse than the OEM computer. On June 9, I spoke with [redacted] and he said to return the defective unit and also send my OEM unit so they could repair for same price and return. On June 20, we received back our OEM computer from Car Exchange and it still did not work correctly. [redacted] bought another computer from a local source and installed and it worked correctly immediately. On June 24, I called [redacted] and asked for full refund and he told me no problem, will take 1-2 days for credit. As of today June 30, no credit is issued and he won't return my calls, his admin keeps saying he's really busy or out of office. She also said he left me a voicemail but I had no messages on my phone.Desired SettlementFull refund of $398.95 charge from posted June 2 and expedite fee of $50 posted June 7.Business Response Our records show that you got your money back so not sure where this is coming from.Consumer Response Interesting response. Yes, we got our money back, but only because we had to go thru our credit card company to get it back due to us receiving nothing for our money. We received a computer that did not work, sent it back with our own computer for them to service and they still were not able to supply us with a working computer. We bought one from another company and it worked immediately. In fact, it cost us an extra $100 to have the mechanic install the computer two extra times. Also, we did not file the dispute with our credit card company until July 11 after we received no cooperation from the company. This complaint with Revdex.com was filed on June 30th, two weeks prior and the company did not respond until after the deadline when the case was closed due to being unanswered. We made repeated calls to the company to which we received no help. There was always an excuse and we were never called back as promised. It was obvious that we were not going to refund our funds and were hoping that we would just get tired of calling them and go away. It is obvious from the multitude of complaints that this is an ongoing problem with this company. Shame on us for not doing our research first.Final Business Response Again sorry for any misunderstanding. Our records show that we issued you a refund. Not sure why you are saying what you are saying.

Seller sold me a non working product, charged me almost 50% for restocking. I purchased a PCM on 7/21/16 for $294.95. After it was determined that the product was defective, I contacted the company and they stated that I needed to send the product back before they could send a replacement. Needless to say, they sent me THE SAME DEFECTIVE ITEM THAT I RETURNED! I contacted the company and told them I wanted to return it since I never received a working product, I payed $11.95 for return shipping. After countless calls and emails, they finally issued a refund, but only of $154.95, which they claim is because of a flash fee and restocking fee. But I never received a working item, so they pretty much stole $151.95 from me, which I want refunded. Desired SettlementI am wanting this company to do the right thing and refund me the remaining $151.95 that they owe me. Business Response You were refunded according to our terms and refund policy

Ordered a computer for my car and never received it called concerned was told they dont have it asked for refund $318 and over 20 days later nothing. I first contacted car computer exchange on 6/17/15 asking about my computer for my [redacted] they said they have it for $318.00 I decided to shop around for a better price un successful I called back on 6/25/15 at 1:28 pm and ordered the computer the lady over the phone took down all my info on my car she needed and my debit card info and charged my card $318.00 she told me it would be 2/3 days shipping to my address I waited patience till the 30th 5 days later to call and check on the delivery I called at 11:11 am she said she would get more info to call back I called back a hour later at 12:10 she then told me that the computer they had wont work for my car and they have been looking for one for my car I told her I was going to look for one also and I hope the both of us looking one of us will find one.I hung up and started looking for it I found one at a junk yard 2hrs away from my home I called her back and told her I wanted a refund she told me she would pass it on to there billing department and it would take up to 5 days I didn't like that but had no choice but to wait she said I would see the refund on my bank statement well I waited until 7/13/15 12:59 and called back asking about my refund I gave them alot more time then 5 days because of fourth of july weekend she asked me my name and # and said somebody from billing would call me back the same day I waited all day and nothing I called back 7/14/15 11:08 the next day and asked to speak to billing department directly she said theres no line to billing I asked for a manager she said he is out all day in meetings I hung up and am fed up with this run around they should have never taken my money if they never had my part I have all bank statements proving they got paid I want my money back please help me with this matter.Desired SettlementA full refund of $318.00 they had no right taking my $ when they lied and said they had it now all they are doing is giving me the run around about my refund after this happened I looked them up online and found 17 complants about them doing this to others it needs to stop please helpBusiness Response We are sorry for the misunderstanding your refund request slipped through the cracks. We issued you a full refund on July 15th once again sorry for the misunderstanding.Consumer Response They paid me a refund im satisfied thank youFinal Consumer Response

Car Computer exchange sold me a computer which failed in 3 weeks. They are refusing to warranty or refund me. On 1/27/2016 I Ordered a computer for my 1996 [redacted] from car computer exchange (imperial auto service) and on 2/25/2016 had my mechanic, trusty auto care in mesa install the computer. The car ran great for 3 weeks until one day it simply died. The car would turn over but not start. [redacted] from trusty auto care did his diagnosis and confirmed that the new computer had failed. I then contacted car computer exchange and they had me send back the computer. The computer was in perfect cosmetic condition when we shipped it with no evident damage. Being that the [redacted] is my only source of transportation, I contacted car computer exchange multiple times only to be given a run around. After about a week, my mechanic said it might be a good idea to find a computer on my own from a different company so that is what I did. When I asked for a refund from car computer exchange, they declined even though the computer they sold me was faulty was still under warranty and only installed in the car for 3 weeks before it failed. I then proceeded to file a dispute with my cc company and then car computer exchange sent a response to my cc company which stated that the connector pins on the exterior of the unit were broken off. This is the first time they mentioned this and is untrue. Why would they wait until after we filed a dispute with the cc company before they stated such damage. The unit was perfect on the exterior when we sent it. I ordered a computer from a different parts company and had [redacted] install it. The car has been running great ever since. I have not received either my original computer nor the computer which supposedly had broken pins back . But they have my money and I have nothing to show for it. I am very displeased with their unprofessional behavior and would go as far as to say this is elderly financial abuse. I think they are taking advantage of me because I am an older man and won't do anything about this. I am very upset. Desired SettlementI would like a refund. I had to rent a car during the week that my car was down. Really, car computer exchange should pay for my rental car but at the very least reimburse me for the $219.90 that I spent and have nothing to show for. Business Response We are sorry for your trouble we are more than happy to help you out. You can call us or send in your computer and we would be glad to take a look at it.Consumer Response You have the original computer tor the Cadillac and the one we bought and sent you so how could I send you the computer?Final Business Response My records show that you have your unit. I will have my inventory manager double check everything though to make sure.

Full refund was promised by representative prior to purchase, if product is defective. None given. Prior to making the purchase of ECM/PCM, I called the company asking about the refund policy. According to representative, if product did not work, I would be able to received a full refund $218.95(recorded conversation). With the assurance of receiving a full refund if product was defective, I made the purchase on July 09,2016. On July 19, 2016, I spoke with [redacted] (representative) requesting an exchange and inquiring again about the return policy, the representative stated that if the exchange did not work, that I would be able to receive a refund within 60 days and in her own words "there was nothing to worry about"(recorded conversation). On the same day, I called back inquiring about a refund if the exchanged unit did not work to ensure it was true and spoke to [redacted], she too stated that I would receive a full refund, had 60 days for a refund and there was nothing to worry about. (recorded conversation)After receiving the exchanged unit, it did not work, so I returned the unit with a note stating the reason for the return. On August 11, 2016, I called to inquiry about the refund and spoke to [redacted], who stated that I would be receiving a partial refund. Which this is the same representative whom I spoke to before, who stated "there is nothing to worry about". This company has in fact, been deceptive when it comes to their return policy. They state, there is nothing to worry about, yet in fact, there is something to worry about, you wont be getting a full refund for the defective product they are selling. In all of the calls that I made concerning there return policy was it stated that it would be a partial refund, all they say is "there is nothing to worry about". A reasonable person would in fact infer that you would be receiving a full refund. There stated that I would receive a full refund on two separate occasions, and then implied letter by stating "there is nothing to worry about", that I would be receiving a full refund. Its deceptive. I full refund is requested $218.95Desired SettlementFull refund $218.95Business Response We are sorry for the misunderstanding or records indicate you received a refund in accordance with our refund policy. We also show you ordered onlineConsumer Response Non satisfactory response. Business did not fully refund the amount as stated by their representatives. Deceiving and deceptive practices. Final Business Response Again our records indicate you ordered online. Our refund policy on our website clearly outlines all of our terms and conditions.

Ordered an ECM module for a 2000 RAV4. Two modules sent were defective. The second one they sent was the same one I originally sent from my car (I marked it). It's been 4 months and they so far have not refunded any of my $398.95. I spent over $1000 on rental cars and a factory ECM module to correct. I have emailed and called several times over the last four months seeking my refund with no results.","neg-1

I made a purchase for used car computer on 7/13 from this business and have not received my purchase as of 7/30/15. I want a complete refund.I purchased a used car computer on 7/13/15 from this company. As of 7/29/15 I have not received my purchase. They advertise a 24 to 48 hour ship out from time of purchase. My wait is approaching 20 DAYS. I have made several phone calls since the time of purchase asking where my item is. Each time I get a different answer on why I don't have it yet. I have also emailed the seller asking about my purchase. In each case I had to initiate contact to try and find out what was happening with my purchase. At this point I want this transaction cancelled and a complete refund of my money. I have no product, have been not able to use my car during this time (computer removed in preparation for exchange) and am out the $278 that I sent these people through [redacted].Desired SettlementI want my credit card/[redacted] account refunded the entire $278.95 that I paid to this business on 7/13/15. I last talked to a Imperial Auto service rep on 7/23/15, they said I would have my unit by 7/27/15 if everything "checked out". I can no longer do without my car and my money at this point.please close case #[redacted]. I was able to get a complete refund of my money from [redacted] dispute resolution service and no longer need your help in this matter.....

Purchased an ECM with lifetime warranty for $709.34. The initial unit worked intermittently and then failed. Company refuses to honor warranty. On 4/1/2016 I purchased a replacement ECM witdh a lifetime warranty for $709.34. This unit failed and was returned to them on 6/30. On 7/13 I called to check the status and was told The problem they found was and o2 sensor was bad and they would be shipping the unit out that same day ;This did not seem logical so I called back and discussed with [redacted] the fact that a failed O2 sensor would not prevent the vehicle from starting nor would it account for the advanced timing which caused the engine to knock severely.[redacted] then asked me what color and shape my key was and whether or not I had auto lock doors; I told him the key was black and oval shaped and that I did not have auto lock doors; He then stated that he knew the problem; he said they had programmed it wrong; they programmed it for a vehicle equipped with auto lock doors and that he would flash the unit, reprogram it and ship it out on Thursday 7/14.The more I thought about it, this didn't make sense either since they had been given my Vehicle VIN No. and the OEM ECU I sent them with all of the OEM part numbers on the ECU from which they could determine precisely which options the vehicle had on it. On 7/14 I asked that they send me an email stating the status of repair in writing and the path forward; Four subsequent requests were sent to them and they never responded; On 7/15 [redacted] confirmed that they had in fact received my emails They have not responded to subsequent emails.During my 7/15 telecon w/[redacted] I was told the following:Looking for another unit; have not found one yet; they are hard to find; will cost me additional fee once they locate one; those located are above price point they are willing to pay;Told the TCP (Trans. Control Processer) was bad and the cause of failure was determined to be a fault in my [redacted]'s ASD circuit. I asked how they could make this determination without having access to my [redacted] to run diagnostics and [redacted]'s response was that they have their own simulator and therefore they could make that determination; I don't think so!I asked about my lifetime replacement warranty and was told it would not cover this due to the failure having been caused by my [redacted] electrical circuits. I find it strange that [redacted]'s initial claim was that he was trying to locate a core to replace this unit but his suppliers were unable to come up with one; I commented to him that it seemed strange to me that they would be willing to ship me a replacement without insisting that I have my [redacted] repaired prior to shipment of a replacement. This makes no sense. I asked for a refund and my request was denied then and again by [redacted] on 7/26.Before the conversation ended [redacted] became very belligerent in his responses to me because I had no opinion on a question he asked me about failed injectors which has absolutely nothing to do with the problem being discussed; He subsequently hung up on me.I called back and asked that they return the damaged ECU along with a written statement regarding their warranty position in this matter. I rec'd an email stating that they had shipped my ECU to me on 7/16 but they did not address the warranty question I had posed to both [redacted] and [redacted]? Misc. comments:When the 1st replacement unit was sent back to them I described the symptoms I was experiencing with the failed unit:o Intermittant failure to starto Would start and then stop; sometimes would run as long as a week without a significant problem (the [redacted] is rarely driven)o Frequency of start stop would start stop up to 10 times in a 3 to 5 mile trip;o Was advancing the timing to the point wherethe engine developed serious knocking and would shut down; (concerned about damage to engine.IMPORTANT: The ECU they sent to me is a p/n P56044 529 AC whereas the OEM's ECU core I sent to them was part number [redacted]. The unit they sent me is not Vin specific for my vehicle. It is the wrong ECMDesired SettlementA FULL REFUND SINCE THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE CORRECT REPLACEMENT AND UNABLE TO LOCATE ONE AND UNWILLING TO HONOR THEIR "LIFETIME WARRANTY" FOR WHICH I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $100.00.Business Response Your unit tested perfectly when it left our facility. It was determined that you damaged the unit we are more than happy to help but we need you to address the issues with your vehicle that are causing your issues. Sorry for the troubles you are having and hopefully you can figure out what is going on with your vehicle.Consumer Response I put my [redacted] in the [redacted] dealership in Columbus, Tx. They ordered and ECU and got it overnight. They installed it and programmed it on Tuesday 8/9 for $52.36. There are no problems with the wiring harness. The [redacted] runs & shifts well; there are no engine lights. I paid $85.00 to have a wrecker service haul it to the dealership. The last time I talked to [redacted] at Car Computer exchange he said they could not locate an ECU and would not honor the lifetime warranty. I can furnish the Dealership's Report. I want Car Computer Exchange to refund my Original purchase price $709.34 + $ 52.36 repair + $85.00 wrecker chg for a total of $846.70. All receipts will be made available upon request. Final Business Response Again the unit we sent you tested perfectly when it left out facility. Yes please email those reports we would love to take a look at them you can email them to me at [redacted]

Do not order a PCM from this company - go with a local shop or dealer. We waited over a week to get the unit. 3 mechanics (including one at the dealership) said the unit was bad. It took an additional 2 weeks for the car to get fixed - with a PCM from the dealership - and we paid WAY more in labor than if we had just gone with someone local to begin with. This company charged us $100 to return the unit - (for a "flash fee" and a restock fee.) They may be good at other things - but - AVOID ordering a PCM online from them. Horrible experience.","neg-2
