customer doesn't even know the year of the truck he purchased, or the date he purchased it on. The complaint is on a 1997 vehicle purchased on 4/5/2017 when in all actuality, it is a 1998 that was purchased on 4/26/2017.The vehicle was not falsely advertised, seeing that the customer signed over 5 forms, including a federal AS-IS Buyers Guide, stating that the vehicle was sold AS-IS. The customer also had every opportunity to take the vehicle to a mechanic for a personal inspection before purchase, which we highly recommend doing. It clearly states on the Federal Buyers Guide (that was signed) “YOU WILL PAY ALL COST FOR ANY REPAIRS. The dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle". It also clearly states on the back of the form, a list of some of the major defects that may occur. In that list, under the Frame & Body section, it states that frame-crack, corrective welds, or rusted through dogtracks-bent or twisted frame could be defects. We also have 2 in-house AS-IS forms that we go over while signing for the vehicle. These 2 forms are intentionally brutally honest and explain what an AS-IS purchase is. Attached are all of the forms that were signed when the vehicle was purchased from us. In response to my “master mechanic saying the vehicle drove well' - This gentleman is no mechanic at all, but my lot technician who filled the vehicle up with gas and washed it. In conclusion, at what point is the purchaser responsible for a purchase they made over 4 months ago? I am willing to take the vehicle in on the trade for another vehicle comparable in price, but finding another $4,000 truck, is not an easy task. Please let me know how I can be of assistance.
