I understand where the ***'s are coming from and their concerns. The vehicle came in to our Car-X on 10-16-with the oil loss problemThe offer was for a month warranty that was declined by the ***'sI will be willing to meet them in the middle of there month requestWe are willing to extend a warranty until June 30th of this year(2015)That will be the month it has already been and an additional 1/months for a total of months. This is our very fair offer to resolve this situationI will write an official warranty with its parameters, sign it and send it to the ***'s for a signature and a copy for their records.Thank you!*** ***

On Wed, Jan at 12:pm , *** *** ***> wrote:Below is the last reply from Car-X and we are not satisfied and do not consider this complaint closed or resolved. We were trying to research some of the issues discussed. Our reply follows: However, we do NOT feel it is a reasonable offer to just warranty our engine for months or one oil change. If you are soooooooo sure that our car is perfectly fine by industry standards, we are asking that you double your current offer. We still do not feel comfortable about engine problems down the line which can be traced to lack of oil. There will certainly be extra wear on engine parts such as the bearings. However, we would like to ask for a one year warranty on our engine from lack of ALL oil. We have only the low end of driving per year. This can be verified by the oil change record at Car-X over the past years. Of course we want this in writing. *** * *** ***

I will have the warranty drafted and mailed out by end of business on Friday. I will e-mail a copy along with the mailed copy.Thank you !

I have tried to come to a common ground with Mrs. [redacted]. Asking for a 100k warranty is unreasonable as the manufacture only warranties the motor for 65,000 miles. Asking for documentation on services prior to the purchase at 30,000 miles was not unreasonable with what was being asked of us as far as a warranty All the third party experts I have talked with all agree that if any damage was to occur it would be with in 5,000 miles. The offer of 6 months was and is reasonable by industry standards. All reasonable efforts have been made to reach common ground by Car-X.Thank you for your efforts![redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I received the mailed copy on Thursday after hearing that it would be mailed on the previous Friday.  I had little faith in this process so I wanted to get on top of the situation as soon as I was seeing that no action was being taken.  I put the signed document in today's mail, Mom 2-23-15.

Complaint ID [redacted]

We reject Car X’s current response.

Our car was a factory leased vehicle prior to us purchasing it.  Toyota’s lease agreement requires the Lessee to follow scheduled maintenance - including oil changes.  To determine the lessee and provide receipts is an impossible task - as I am sure Car-x knows.

Providing a 100,000 mile warranty may have been a misunderstanding by the manager, but it was not by me.  When I picked up the car, the manager stated to me he would warranty the car for 100,000 miles.  I asked for this in writing.  I said I would come back for this document.   However, when I returned I was told no warranty would be provided for my car being completely drained of its oil.

There has been no attempt to find common ground.  You stated you would warranty the motor for 6 months or 5000 miles (one oil change).  Your response to our concern of the lack of oil causing trouble in the future was basically to “take it or leave it” – the offer of only a 6 month warranty.

I made a mistake on the first complain I meant the lug nut cover instead of the hub caps. the lug nuts cover were broken by the car x mechinc that had the oldsmoble logic on it and since olds is out of business then I would like car x to order the oringal lug nuts cover for my 99 olds to have everything matching.

It would be unreasonable for us to warranty a motor for 100,000 miles (misunderstood

the refusal of our offer and to move forward and come to some sort of...

common
ground I will need all documentation from the [redacted]'s that complete and
proper maintenance  was done on their
vehicle prior to them purchasing it. Documentation needs to include all oil
change receipts or documentation of oil changes at proper intervals, proper
recommended oil and quantity. With the uncertainty of prior services before they
purchased the vehicle, it would be difficult to come to a warranty agreement
and or future damages without this information. The same concern they have of
possible damage is the same concern in us giving a warranty of mileage not
knowing the history of this vehicle before the [redacted]'s purchased it. I am
willing to come to a common ground but need the info requested to protect all
parties involved and create a reasonable, clear and educated solution.

This is the same response made by the business before and they did not follow through.  I am hoping that Car X will comply with their promise.  If not, I will be contacting you and the local newspaper.

We did mail a copy of the warranty along with a pre paid envelope on Friday Feb 13th 2015. Here is another copy of the warranty this should close the complaint. If the mail copy has not been received I am willing to send another signed copy via certified mail.

I have called 2 times now and left messages for the the customer to callme to get this issue resolved. I have received the recent letter and understand there was a mix up as to the part on his end. When this did happen we did offer him the lug caps we had. The customer requested new ones. I have no problem paying for the 2 lug caps but need the customer to get them so they are the right ones and I will cut him a check upon receipt immediately. I want to fix this problem as soon as possible. I am still awaiting a call back from the customer. I hope he contacts me and communicates with me directly so we can get this resolved quicker then going through the process he has begun. Thank you!
