exchangeable. Our store policy can be found on all Sales Receipt. FAQ: My Watch Has Stopped Running and/or is Running Slow: Many mechanical watches are automatic or self-winding. Automatic watches have a self-winding devise in the form of a weight, which oscillates the movement of the wearer’s wrist to create a power reserve. Upon receiving a new watch, the crown must be wound 40-50 times to start the watch running. If not worn daily, the power reserve may be drained requiring the watch to be wound manually. It is common for a watch to lose about 4-5 seconds per day. If you experience slow movement in your mechanical timepiece, it may either not have established enough power reserve or is due for maintenance. A common misconception is that by simply shaking an automatic watch, it will give sufficient motion to enable the watch to maintain accurate time. This is false because this procedure will neither wind the main spring sufficiently nor establish a power reserve, ultimately causing the watch to stop or track time inaccurately. If you do not like to wind your crown every so often, it is recommended to buy a watch winder to keep consistency. If your watch is fully wound and still running slow or the movement does not run, it may be time to bring your watch in for a complete maintenance service. Most manufacturers recommend a maintenance service every 4 to 5 years. Service & Repair Policy: If you find your timepiece or jewelry needs servicing, please bring your purchased items and warranty card to our customer care center. Carat & Co. is not responsible for the wear and tear, damage and negligence, and manufacturing defect of your merchandise. Any manufacturing defect must be sent back to the respecting companies. Warranty items will cover any manufacturing defects within your specified warranty period. Water-resistance timepieces are recommended to get checked yearly for a water-resistance check. A complete overhaul of the watch is recommended every 3 to 5 years depending on the conditions in which it is used due to the great number of points that need oiling. Please note that your warranty does not cover the lifetime of the battery, normal wear and tear, any damage to the watch resulting from physical/accidental abuse, lack of care, accidents (dents, broken crystal, etc), alterations from non-authorized centers and damage resulting from wear under conditions exceeding the watch manufacturer's water resistance limitations. All shipping and insurance costs in connection with warranty and non-warranty services are the responsibility of the customer.

Review: Last December **, 2014, I bought a Longines watch with white dial GTS LA Grande for $1420.00. Within a couple of weeks, the watch would inadvertently stop and I had to rewind it, or it would stop working and I did not wear it for more than 12 hours. Thinking that it was an isolated case, I did not go back to the store. Two weeks ago, my watch suddenly slowed down for 15 minutes causing me to be late for work, it was the straw that broke the camel's back! I went to the store and I was told that I had to rewind it every week for it to work which I dutifully did until it stopped on the fifth day. When I returned back, the [redacted]'s first nasty question was if I had bought the watch from her store. She had barely any interest or motivation in helping with my situation when I first approached her. Then, she said I had to leave it for a day so that it can be tested. Finally convinced that I was not lying about the defective watch, I was told it had to be sent back to Switzerland for repair. Adding insult to injury, I was told I had to pay the shipping fees of $50.00 to have my watch repaired in Switzerland. I was blindsided by the callous attitude of the [redacted] who had no remorse about the whole situation, it is totally unacceptable that a shop can operate with this apathetic attitude towards its consumer with no regard to the norms of society. The watch comes with a 2-year warranty, this repair should be fulfilled within the warranty and not come out of my own pocket. This business is profiting by every dishonest transaction they are completing . I sincerely hope you would look into this matter at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the watch and have my money refunded. Carat & Co.'s ill-mannered [redacted]ment does not deserve my service here and I would like to take it elsewhere more accommodating.
