Carbon Contracting Reviews (1)

Carbon Contracting came in Oct. 2015 to tile the tub/shower area & walls in the main & master baths. Returning from holidays, we found un-removeable black finger marks on several tiles. No leveling system was used so many of these tiles have sharp corners sticking out. Several of the tiles have rough edges because their saw blade was getting dull. The small glass accent tiles were also uneven with many pushed too far in while others had sharp corners sticking out. We had asked that everything be flush and were told by one of the partners that this would be no problem. Some were recessed up to 1/4"deep. We were extremely disappointed but we reached a compromise. We purchased more accent tiles hoping these would look better the second time around. They returned and re-did the accent tiles in the designated locations as well as replacing some the porcelain tiles. They were to remove the black finger prints but never did. After their first day back we walked into the main bath about 9:00 PM to find the accent tiles drooping and distorted. We worked until at least 2:00 AM removing these tiles in an attempt to salvage them. The next day they were replaced for the third time and the master bath accent tiles were installed. Again no leveling system was used or spacers so once they had dried we had the same problem as before or worse. Our custom shower base for the master bath is unusable because it was gouged and scratched from tiles that were removed for replacement. We were assured they would protect the base. They also incorrectly installed expensive shower basket and footrest brackets even though installation instructions were there. They never returned to seal the grout or clean-up. Most of these problems were discovered when we did our own clean-up. They haven't answered our phone calls but did agree to meet after texting. They did not show up at the meeting. A registered letter was sent which they signed for but did not make a reply.[redacted]Desired Settlement[redacted] we are requesting a settlement of $15,081.17 for the cost of materials and labour.
