worst customer service and terrible product
I had a horrible experience with carcover.com and as much as I tried to work with them, they just won't make it right. I bought a 14-16ft cover. They sent one that was WAY too big, like by 8-10ft. It went from the hitch to the ground at the other end of the bumper. Needless to say, this cover failed and their patches quit adhering to the cover. I sent pictures, and they determined I was covered by the warranty. I had to pay $65 to get the replacement cover. Well, they sent a 12-14ft cover and tried to tell me I asked for this which is a straight LIE. They just did not listen to me. After a week of emailing back and forth and them refusing to send the correct size on their dime (they expected me to pay another $65 to return the wrong one sent and then pay full price to replace purchase another one đŸ€Ź but offered me 20% off đŸ˜€). I finally had to file a dispute with my credit card. I have highly recommended them in the past but quickly discovered they have no loyalty or customer value or ethics. They sent me the wrong items TWICE and expect me to pay for their mistakes. The cover cost me $170 plus $65 for them to send the wrong replacement cover. NO way I'm paying more money when they have lost my trust, referrals and my business.

I purchased a car cover that was not as advertised and they will not allow me to return the item and refuse to refund me. The site claimed the cover was 100% water proof upon looking at the cover it is not. I spoke with a rep who claimed the site stated it is water resistant not water proof even after I showed them what their description of the cover from their site. I have also asked for an rma for the cover to just be told that I need to use the cover for a month for it to be as expected. They do not want to return my fund or take their product back!

Hello,

we will gladly accept the package for a return please go ahead and send the email to the return department

On November 20, 2020, we ordered an RV cover from The Car Cover Company (carcover.com) in the amount of $395.99. The company states on their website that there is a Lifetime Warranty on ALL covers they sell. The first cover ripped within a matter of days. When we contacted the company, they eventually responded and said they would send a replacement cover, after we send $60.00 for shipping of the new cover. On December 12, 2020, we charged the required $60.00 to the account above, in order to have the replacement cover shipped to us.
Within one day, the second cover ripped completely in half. On January 17, 2020, pictures of the second cover were sent to the company, asking for a monetary refund. We received an e-mail that said it would take 24-48 hours to respond. To date, we have received no response to our request for monetary refund. We have sent multiple e-mail requests, as well as phone messages to the company. Clearly, after two covers, the company is unable to provide us with a stable, “lifetime” cover.

The Original order number is #500159217; Part #***; Request for refund #***
Thank you in advance for your help.

We have received the 395.99 purchase price back on our crefit card. However, the $60 shipping fee was not addressed. Is that something they are not required to do?

CarCover.com Response • Apr 24, 2020

9/2/19, Bought Gold Shield 5L car cover advertised on their product page as "100% waterproof," with Lifetime Warranty. I live in south/eastern edge of Aptos, CA. Very little rain over the winter. Noticed a slight leak during first rain in late Fall. Didn't care since it was slight.
See screenshot of the entire page - proof they falsely describe their product.
In March, I put the cover on the car due to forecast of rain that night.
Rain stopped by morning.
Left the cover on the car parked on the driveway in the sun.
Late afternoon, close to dark, I began removing the cover since I needed to drive somewhere.
I was shocked to see a huge cloudy patch of spots on the car paint on the car trunk.
The spots exactly matched the wet spots of the inside of cover.
I photographed both the spots on the car and the matching spots on the cover.
I attached the photos in an email, copied and pasted their original 9/2/19 order email to me, and wrote them a polite email about their warranty, and the cover's damage to the paint on my car trunk.
(Searching on *** led me to discover that many consumers complain about this "cloudy spot" issue with car covers.)
CarCover's response was negligent.
They offered me a replacement if I paid a $30 shipping fee which I refused to pay.
And - they said their cover did not damage my car.
They said that I had left the cover on my car for six months without removing it. HUH?
I had specifically told them that I drive my car just about everyday.
I called to speak with the manager several times within two weeks.
Each time, they told me he "just left," or "He left for the Sabbath."
Finally, I got lucky and called when he was in, and was then, asked to email him instead of speaking with him.
So, I emailed him.
He was dismissive.
I figured, well being a 75-year-old female doesn't help, so I got tough.
Told him, "For a religious man, you sure are a crook."
He replied that he would issue me a full refund.
Got the refund, but no offer to cover trunk carpaint damage.

Dear Revdex.com,

I regret that I have not received the business (the Car Cover Company) response to me regarding my filed complaint, ID.

Please advise how I can access the business's response, if in fact, they have responded.

Thank you.

Regards

CarCover.com Response • Apr 17, 2020

we find it very disrespectful to use religion in this matter as religion has nothing to do with it. we have issued the full refund because we care for our customers. what was said is the only way the cover could have damaged the car is if the clear coat was already damaged. we are no responsible for any damage that occurs tot he vehicle and that is stated on our website. we find that this complaint is more out of spite or maybe something to do with the religion we practice. we issued a full refund back to the card

Customer Response • Apr 24, 2020

Thank you for your quick response. Please note that your office was the first to bring religion into the conversation. I meant no disrespect re: your religion.I did, and do, disrespect your way of denying evidence I gave you that your cover did in fact damage my car paint. And I deeply disrespect your company for its false advertising and failure to advise consumers not to leave the cover on a car parked in the sun after a night of rain. *** Search shows that I am not alone as a shocked consumer finding “cloudy white spots” on my car from a car cover.I also question your integrity regarding the fact that no where on your site, do you mention that you are not responsible for any damage caused by the car cover. Maybe, you will rush now to post that disclaimer. Please do the right thing: rewrite with integrity your product claims and description which would include the deletion of your “100% waterproof” claim. Even your employee told me over the phone that “our covers leak over time.” Thank you.

CarCover.com Response • Apr 24, 2020

Hello,

it is in the description and was always in the description we are willing to issue a refund for the cover if you put in your year make and model you will see the text

Customer Response • Apr 29, 2020

Your cover link below for my specific car still has ssme false advertising. No where does it say that the cover can cause permanent cloudy white spots on the car paint if the covered car is left in the sun after a rain. And your cover is not 100% waterproof as I experienced in less than 3 months after purchase, and as your employees told me over the phone that the cover would leak over time.

I purchased a car cover on May 11 from carryover.com, and for $139.99 I was not happy with it and per the company website 100% guaranteed return and hassle free returns . I emailed them on May 26, 2018 with my order number to request a refund. The first email included the order #and stated that the cover did not fit. They responded back with asking us to take a picture of the car cover on we told him that we did not like the plastic straps that could scratch the car and we just wanted to return it they then responded by asking us if we were to keep it for an additional 20% off. We also responded back saying they were not wanting any money back we just want the product returned as per the 30 day moneyback guarantee. I'm June 2 I called and I spoke with Jeff and he told me that Isaac is the manager and to send him another email with our concern that we want the product returned and re-fine. I sent an email again on June 2 heard nothing back then again on June 4 I sent another email stating that if I did not hear back from them by 12 o'clock this afternoon I would call the credit Company to dispute the charge which I have started that process and would also contact the Revdex.com. There is been a total of nine emails and nobody has gotten back to us to return this product and when I searched on the Internet I am seeing a lot of reviews and they give people the runaround I am very displeased with their service and their poor representation of your online 100% guarantee hassle free returns. I am in great need of your assistance to help me and also help anyone else who deals with his company in the future thank you so much
