Review: Thursday, May **, 2013 – Received letter from Card Payment Systems [CPS] and [redacted] Data, dated May **, 2013 stating that they were implementing a $150 fee for the Annual Program Cost for [redacted]

May **, 2013 – Contacted CPS to inquire about charge. ** told me that they [CPS] were, fighting the new fee with [redacted], so I should wait until after June. [Which I did as instructed]

I contacted CPS on Wednesday, July **, 2013. I told ** that my account had been charged the $150 on July *, 2013 [plus the monthly charge of $7.00]. She said they weren't able to fight the $150 charge with [redacted]. So I said I wanted to cancel my account if this was going to be an annual fee – I don’t do that much processing to justify that kind of fee. I also requested a refund of the $150 since I wouldn't be participating in the program. She said I had to cancel my account first so she would send me the form and I could return it to her. She said it wouldn't be a problem with early termination since my 3-year contract was over on July 8th.

I immediately filled out the form and emailed it back to her. The $150 had not been refunded.

After numerous emails and phone calls to Card Payment Systems in which I was told multiple conflicting courses of action, I called [redacted] [the company that CPS holds my account for]. They supported me and stated that since the charge was for the upcoming year and I had canceled my account, I should be refunded. They even called the representative who had been giving me the wrong information to instruct her on the refund - she did not take the call so a voicemail was left.

When I followed up myself with **, she stated her boss "didn't want to" give me the refund. The man who originally signed me up intervened and was told they could take $75 out of his residuals to give me, which was unacceptable.

I have since called, emailed and written a letter to the owner of the company, manager and the representative I had spoken with, as well as the gentleman who set up my initial account with CPS. During my final call to CPS, to ask again about the $150 AND a new charge of $7.50, ** asked, “Didn't my boss call you about that?” I responded that he had not contacted me, I hadn't heard from anyone. Our conversation did not go well from there and she hung up on me and refused to take a follow up call from me.

On August *, 2013 I sent a detailed a letter to the company's owner, requesting the refund of the $150 fee in the hopes of resolving this issue fairly. I don't even care about the $7.50 since the account wasn't officially closed until July [redacted], so even though a pro-rated fee would have been appropriate, I don't want it. I just want the money that I should never have been charged in the first place.. I have not received any response or refund.Desired Settlement: I would like the $150 annual charge [for the June 2013-June 2014 period]refunded back to my account.
