Cardinal Auto Sales Inc Reviews (6)

GO SEE [redacted]! After months of research on numerous cars, their average reviews, dealers with good reviews (Revdex.com and consumer) and cars that met my specific needs, I came to 21 cars spread out over 7 different dealerships. This dealership was among the top 3. they were helpful, informative, easy to work with and not at all pushy. Oh yeah, and did I mention their amazing vehicles. Bought a 2005 Hyundai Tucson for $6,500 and it is virtually immaculate. Everything about this business is on the up and up. Don't worry about those negative reviews saying that customers weren't helped quick enough. It's a big, busy lot with only so many [redacted] to go around. Trust me, I've done my car buying homework. If they have what you are looking for, then look nowhere else.

Dealer indicated truck was in good working order at time of sale. Within 900 miles, piston rings were worn and engine needed replacement.I purchased a truck from Cardinal Auto Sales (CAS) on 3/27/2014. Truck was advertised in good working condition with no known issues. After driving approximately 900 miles, the truck began burning significant quantities of oil. After inspection by both a factory-dealer technician and a third party, independent technician, it was determined that the piston rings were worn and had caused irreversible engine damage.I informed CAS of the situation prior to having the truck inspected. After both technicians reached the same conclusion, I had them fax their findings to CAS.CAS would not assist with the situation and told me "If you buy a truck from us, drive down the road and the motor breaks into two pieces, you own both pieces and it's your problem." CAS files sufficient paperwork to cover their liabilities, but they are a truly dishonest business.Furthermore, at the time of purchase, I paid $400 for a limited 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. As of a discussion I had with [redacted] Corporation ([redacted]) on 5/6/2014, my information had not yet been submitted to [redacted]. When I brought this up to CAS, they immediately indicated they would follow up with the [redacted]. I cannot be certain if this error was on behalf of CAS or [redacted], however.Desired SettlementI am seeking one of two settlements:1. Complete buy-back of the truck for the purchase price of $12,700.2. Full payment by Cardinal Auto Sales of a certified engine shop to replace the engine and catalytic converter. The shop will be be either selected directly by Cardinal Auto Sales or, if selected by me, will be approved by Cardinal Auto Sales prior to work.

They should fix my fuel pumpI haven't had the car for one month and I had three problems with it it was the fuel pump went out the first time when I was at church and I was stuck at church the second time it was the fuel pump again and I took it to [redacted] and they said it was the total integrated power module they said that when they try to put on the fuel pump than five past the total integrated power module to just jump start the fuel pump and I felt like I just got short and it out of the deal and they should pay the $1,300 to get my car fixed right./////Desired SettlementI would like for them to pay the $1,300 to [redacted] and get it fixed /////

We purchased a vehicle that immediately needed thousands of dollars in repairs to drive it. We cannot get a return phone call from the owner. We purchased a [redacted] from Cardinal Auto Sales in December 2015. The truck had some trouble starting but we were promised that it was only the battery from sitting on the lot. They got it running and with reassurance from the salesman, [redacted], we made the purchase with financing through our bank. While we finalized the paperwork, [redacted] told us, "We don't sell junk" and to let us know if we had any problems so they could take care of it. We had quite a bit of trouble getting the truck started after we took it home. We got an oil change, and [redacted] replaced a battery for $250. That didn't help. We took it to the [redacted] Service center, where they diagnosed $3000 worth of repairs needed. When we called CAS to alert them of the problems, the salesman merely offered to have someone else get us an estimate on the work. That would mean we would have to pay to take it out of one shop, to go to another, and pay more in the process for a non-certified repair. We had no choice but to pay the $3000 to be able to drive it.Less than a week later, the truck stopped driving on the highway; it just shut off. It had to be towed back to the [redacted] shop for a repair that will be at least $2500. Throughout all of this, we have spoken quite a few times to the salesman, [redacted], and twice the Sales Manager, [redacted], who tell us they're sorry, but their boss will not do anything. We were specifically told that the owner, [redacted], "will not call us back" although we've left several messages. We are left with $6500 in repairs just to get it drive-able and there are more costly repairs to come. The [redacted] repair shop has warned us that there are many more repairs needed soon in order to safely operate the vehicle. I am appalled that a company can be in business and take advantage of people in this way. Desired SettlementWe would like the company to either refund the entire sales price and take the truck back, or cover the cost of all necessary repairs, completed and scheduled.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] managerContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]Please be advised this complaint has been resolved with the customer on 1/22/2015.Consumer Response Resolved.Final Consumer Response

I purchased a used vehicle that has been in the shop, or parked, during the 2 months that I have purchased it because it is not safe to drive.I purchased a [redacted] on Jan 12, 15 from Cardinal Auto Sales that immediately needed thousands of dollars in repairs within the 1st week to drive it. I cannot get a return phone call from the owner, and I have to call numerous times before getting someone on the phone ([redacted], the person that sold me the vehicle) who will not let me talk to the manager. The truck had some leakage underneath but I was informed that it wasn't a [redacted] if it didn't have some leakage, and that all their vehicles receive a 10-point inspection prior to sale. The salesman, [redacted], even informed me that the owner had been driving it so it is definitely good to go. I noticed a couple days later that when I went into my garage that there was a strong smell and a fluid spot under the truck. On January 16, I was informed by an outside mechanic that the vehicle had a coolant leak. Jan 26 I took the truck to another repair shop and had a pre-inspection done and was informed that there was a major coolant leak. The water pump, radiator hose, and thermostat had to be replaced for $807.63. I began driving the truck again only for the "air suspension inactive" light to come on. Mar 9, I took the truck back to a mechanic for a code diagnosis and was informed that the suspension compressor box will have to be replaced for $1032. The DVD headrest is not working at all, but I was promised that it did work by salesman, [redacted], who stated that he and the dealership's mechanic indeed played a DVD and the left passenger screen worked fine. [redacted] also stated that during the time the owner drove it, he too used the DVD player. [redacted] stated that if I could not get the DVD to work because "We don't sell junk" and to let us know if we had any problems so they could take care of it. When I called Cardinal Auto Sales to alert them of the problems, the salesman, [redacted], merely offered me a "well it is a used vehicle." I had no choice but to pay the $807.63, and will have to pay $1032 to be able to drive it. Throughout all of this, I have spoken 3 times to the salesman, [redacted], who tells me he's sorry, but his boss will not do anything. We were specifically told that the owner, [redacted], "will call me back," and he hasn't, although I've left several messages. Remind you, I have called many times and wasn't able to get anyone on the phone, nor leave a voicemail because their mailbox has not been setup yet. I am left with $1840 in repairs just to get it drive-able and there are more costly repairs to come. Several repair shops have warned me that there are many more repairs needed soon in order to safely operate the vehicle. I am appalled that a company can be in business and take advantage of people in this way. I will never do business with them again.Desired SettlementI would like the company to either refund the entire sales price and take the truck back, or cover the cost of all necessary repairs, completed and scheduled. Business Response The vehicle was sold as-is with no warranty. We offered a service contract to help the customer protect there investment which was declined by [redacted]. The customer also signed multiple as is disclamers including the federal buyers guide which states "the vehicle is being sold as-is and the customer will pay for any repairs. This dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about this vehicle." We have apologized to the customer but there is not much we can do at this point.
