I am rejecting this response because:The response from the business is untrue. I did inquire about the warranty but, never implied nor expected the repair for freeI ask for a diagnosis and solutionThat's all! The post was not rotted. As I thought, there was not enough material in the ground. I should have listened to the Alderman that warned me about this company. I contacted a competitor, who gave me an educated, professional answer and provided solutions. He agreed that a fence should not sway after years. They were prompt, honest, educated The post was not damaged or rotted as Cardinal Fence claimedThere is no damage from "Mother Nature", water, snow etcThe driveway is too narrow on both sides of the fence to allow piled snowBoth cars just clear the fence with their mirrors. Where the post was installed, there was not enough concreteI have the work scheduled and it will be $106.00.The lack of customer service along with uneducated, unprofessional staff is appalling

A portion of a new fence installed at Ms. [redacted] home located at [redacted] Avenue in Elmhurst was Western Red Cedar.    The installation was in September of 2010.  The problem post in question is located between two driveways with a small section of grass.  ...

Being between two driveways which creates snow, ice and water to accumulate along with water from the grassy area would definitely contribute to premature post rot along with it being already 6 ½ years old.   One of Ms. [redacted] wood posts has rotted out.   Wood is not warranteed.   A product of mother-nature cannot be warranteed as there are so many factors to causing it to rot, such as water, snow, underground flow of water etc.    Our lifetime warranty is on labor and not the material, as stated in the contract.   A wood product rotting out is not a labor caused event.   It is normal for wood to rot as it ages and the elements we live in rain/snow definitely create a shorter lifespan of cedar; we have seen it rot out as early as one year.   We do not normally do repairs and if we do repairs it is expensive compared to smaller companies that do repairs.   Knowing that we would be expensive for one post repair we referred her to “Cesar” as she mentioned, thinking he would definitely save her money on her repair.  All this information has been communicated to Ms. [redacted] however she insists on calling this a “Material Warranty” issue, which it is not.   We apologize that we are unable to help Ms. [redacted] request for the post to be replaced for free as she requests.   We feel her request is unreasonable.
