When the customer came to pick up the cake, I was not at the Bakery. She called me from the Bakery & said that she did not like the way the sunflowers looked on the cake. I was on my way back and told her I would be there in 5 minutes to fix the problem. She said she could not wait, paid for the...

cake & left. When she left the building on Thursday, August 17, there was a torrential downpour. She called the next day to say that the cake got wet, but she served it, all. Ale was consumed by her & her family and that she wanted her money. Ack. I had no control of the weather, obviously, and I viewed the pictures that she posted. The cake did not look that way when she left the building. She repeatedly called me on Friday saying she wanted her money back, but had eaten the cake. I feel it was [redacted]'s intention to try and get the cake for free. If she had returned an uneaten cake, I would have refunded her money. I will not be bullied into returning money for a cake that was consumed.

When I arrived Wednesday she presented me with a cake that was NOT custom. It was white with white icing. She admitted that she didn't write down my custom design specifications (turquoise with sunflowers) and that it was her fault. She told me to come back the next day and she would have the correctly decorated cake. The next day (Thursday 8/17) was the day of the party and I was not happy about the delay. I got wet but the cake did not. I never said it got wet, I have no idea why she would say that. It was perfectly dry.If Elizabeth had delivered the correct cake to me on the day it was scheduled to be competed - Wednesday, I would have had time to refuse the cake and get another. But because she was a day late in delivering the cake, it was the only cake I had to take to the party so, obviously, it was eaten. She did NOT deliver what was promised. This custom cake was for a scheduled event and when it was delivered just prior to the event it was then too late to fix it. If she had written down my custom design details when I gave them to her a week earlier, maybe this could have been avoided. Or maybe she should've called me when she realized she didn't have the design details instead of just making a white cake. Instead, her irresponsibility and lack of communication resulted in having to make the cake in less than 24 hours. It was obviously a rush job and she was too busy preparing for her grand opening to care about what the cake looked like. I don't care if it was eaten or not, the cake she provided was unacceptable and not delivered on time.I feel it was Elizabeth's intention to pawn off a generic, white cake to me on Wednesday when she realized she didn't have time to complete the custom design she promised me.
