Review: aug. 9th, 2014i was involved in a motorcycle accident on the 91 freeway. I only sustained minor injuries and did not require any medical attention. I did not call for help nor did I ask to be looked at. I denied medical attention at the scene and signed a form of refusal. I later received a bill of $350 for a response to a 911 emergency call from the city of anaheim. I called their billing agency to get these charges waived because not only did I refuse the service, but also i'm not an anaheim resident. the person I had talked to on the phone said the charges must be paid since the fire department took my blood pressure. I did not ask for them to take my blood pressure since it was not necessary, but they insisted and claimed it was procedure. I was tricked into these charges and am now being forced to pay it.Desired Settlement: I request for these charges to be waived since I did not make the call, refused their service at the scene and not a resident of anaheim.

Response:

I recently received a bill from the fire department for an emergency response call that I did not make. Since I only sustained minor injuries, I did not need any medical attention. I signed off for refusing treatment at the scene. Accordingly, I'm not a resident of Anaheim so I'm not liable to pay this fee. I have not made any payment yet, so I'm requesting for the amount to be waived.

Response:

This is not a Care Ambulance bill. This is a bill from the City of Anaheim for services provided by the Anaheim Fire Department. Mr. [redacted] needs to contact the Anaheim Fire Department to resolve his billing dispute. Once again, this is not a Care Ambulance bill for service.

Review: On 6/12/14 I took an ambulance ride after a bad slip & fall. Nearing a year and never heard anything from Care and 4/23/15 I get a bill dated 4/21 telling me that I have to pay by 5/10. I call them to give them my insurance info figuring this is a mistake and they didn't bill my insurance. Well apparently they did and my insurance told them that they sent a check out to my mother (the subscriber) back in December but my mom never got the check. So I called my insurance and I had them stop payment and reissue a new check. I then call and let Care know this and tell them all of this and the lady tells me that it's fine and she will notate my account and to just make sure to make payment as soon as I get that check. The agent that I spoke to today (5/26) told me that that notation was indeed on my account. On 5/11 they mail out another bill. Then 5/20 they mail me a letter threatening collections. HELLO...YOU JUST MAILED ME A SECOND BILL 9 DAYS AGO. The fact that they mail me a bill and threaten collections like a week later is just insane but the part that really ticks me off is that I called and talked to them and the lady I spoke with notated my account and said it should be fine and to just make payment as soon as I get that check. If they can wait almost a year to ever send me a bill they can wait a couple of weeks until I receive a check in the mail. Seriously sending 2 bills and a collections notice all in a 30 day span borders on harassment.Desired Settlement: How about instead of harassing people with multiple bills within 30 days and then threatening with collections (all within that same 30 days) you extend a hold so people have the time to contact their insurance and resolve the matter (without having to jump through all sorts of hoops) before you go threatening actions that can damage people's credit. I was supposed to be at work this morning and due to your crappy policy instead had to spend my morning on hold with my insurance company while they tried to get ahold of you to have a hold placed. They told you the exact same thing I was telling you yet you wouldn't extend the same 30 day hold directly to me and now I am out a morning of work. Your current billing practices are borderline harassment and need to change.

Review: My complaint is in regards to the billing practices of a company called Care Ambulance. I am the Power of Attorney for my mother's medical care. On 2 separate instances Care Ambulance transferred my mother to a nursing home at the request of [redacted] Hospital. They are now stating that these were non-emergent and not covered by Medicare and my mother is responsible for both bills (over $2000). I was never informed of the necessity of the ambulance transfer as this was initiated by the hospital. My mother and I were not properly informed about the financial repercussions of this decision. I am her Power of Attorney and have fiduciary responsibility to make these medical decisions for her. I was not informed by the hospital or by the ambulance company.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I request that either [redacted] Hospital or the Care Ambulance company are responsible for these charges as my mother and I were not properly informed of the necessity /financial repercussions of these transfers.

Review: I believe Falck ambulance service is trying to double bill me for the deductible which I have already paid.

They took a long time to send the first bill which I paid. Then, weeks later I got another rather threatening bill which said that it was my 'legal obligation' to pay and that they had made 'repeated attempts' to contact me. They had made no attempt to contact me.

I called 'customer service' to say that I had sent the payment. I was told that they had no record of my payment. I then called my bank which said that the check I had sent had been endorsed and deposited.

This news did not impress the 'customer service' person so I sent a photocopy of the endorsed check in the same kind of envelope and to the same address that I had sent the payment to. I thought this would close the matter.

Imagine my surprise, yesterday I got another bill demanding payment. I called 'customer service' again really angry this time. He said that they had not received the photocopy and that perhaps I had not sent it!

This was the same person I had talked to before. He then claimed that they could not trace the check without the check number which I had not provided. This was an outright lie since we had discussed all this in detail previously.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor he said I could not do that since they all had gone home for the day. This was 2:30 PM!

This all sounds suspect. I can only think they are targeting people like me, assuming that at age 76 I will be incompetent and easily confused.Desired Settlement: I want Falck to acknowledge my payment and then leave me alone. If this complaint exposes shady practices on the part of Falck that would be great.

Review: After being forced to utilize CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES on April 30th, I called CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES and set up a monthly payment plan to pay the $387.04 that CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES was requesting. A month or two after I set up the monthly payment plan, CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES sent me a letter threatening to turn my account over to a collection agency. This kind of behavior should be illegal!!! Why is CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES of Orange, California allowed to threaten me with collections despite the fact that I already set up a payment plan with them?? I am paying $25 per month to pay off my bill. CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES of Orange, California should be SHUT DOWN by the Revdex.com and/or the Federal Trade Commission.Desired Settlement: I want CARE AMBULANCE SERVICES of Orange, California to stop DOUBLE BILLING ME and stop threatening me.

Response:

This is a Care Ambulance bill for emergency ambulance services. Mr. [redacted] made contact with our billing offices and agreed to make monthly payments of $25.00 to resolve his bill for service. As a courtesy, Care Ambulance agreed to waive any monthly interest fees. Mr. [redacted] made his first payment of $25 on 9/11/0214. He made no further payments and 45 days later he was sent a collection letter. Mr. [redacted] responded by making a $200 payment on 10/29/2014 and $87.04 payment on 11/19/2014. His account is now current and he owes a remaining balance of $100.
