Dear Mrs. Tammy W[redacted]:
In the business world I feel the most important characteristic is honesty and commitment. I had a business myself and the saying, the customer is always right, was a standard not just a saying. If you came to my restaurant you would get good service and good food. We did not ask you to pay for your food, put on your table then never see you again. We got paid only after you enjoyed your meal and our atmosphere. The service was as good as the food. I believe the service of any company says a lot about the company.
My fiancé recently had new windows installed with your company. . The salesman, Steve K. (Company would not give me his last name) was very courteous and attentive when we first talked to him on the phone. He was also eager to come to our house and discuss the options. He would also follow-up with a phone call and when we were ready to commit, he quickly set a date and arrived early and eager. My fiancé agreed to the terms and price. She is a single mother and school teacher. Her finances are limited, but she trusted what Steve said and felt confident in your company. It was a big step and investment for her.
The installment date was set and the installers arrived early to the house. According to Steve it would be a two-day project. The installers completed installing all 10 windows and a sliding door in one day. We were surprised, but appreciative. The first problem arrived when we had to fill out the electric company form for a debate for installing energy efficient windows. I called Steve as he said to call him when the installers came and he would give me the information for the form. I called him and he said he did not have the information and to get it from the installer lead when they finish. I asked the installer lead and he said he did not know how to fill it out and did not have the information. I tried calling Steve back, but was only able to leave a message. Steve did not return my call that day or the next. Before the purchase he was very attentive and helpful. Now we could not even get a call back just to fill out some forms. We contacted Window World and the receptionist told us to send her the forms and they would complete them. We did not feel confident they would do this so we filled them up as much as possible with the information we had and sent them to the electric company.
Windows World contacted us for a county inspection post window installation. We agreed for an inspection date on Wednesday. Window World did not give us a time of the inspection just a day. We contacted the county inspection and they said they would contact Window World and tell them what time of the day the inspection would be and they (Window World) would let us know. Window World never contacted us at what time of the day the inspection would be and they came when we were not there. We contacted Window World and they said they are not responsible and that we should have been available all day long. Not according to the county inspector’s office. We tried to reschedule and Window World said we could not till we paid a $38 for the first inspection since we were not there. Window World was responsible to inform us of the time of inspection according to the county inspector’s office. I ended up paying the $38 since Window World refused to and they set up another inspection.
The county inspector came to the house and conducted the inspection. The inspection passed county requirements, but the inspector did point out some problems with the installation. The window in the master bedroom was broken and the kitchen window frame created a crack in the world. We called Window World the next day to inform them of the damaged windows and they said they would call back to schedule a date for them to come fix them. It has now been three weeks and not only have they not come to fix them, but we have never had a call back. We have called numerous times and left messages with the receptionist that informed us she would contact the right department and set up a date. No call back or scheduling. We have a damaged window, a damaged wall and a contact person that handled our case that has ignored our calls as soon as the contract was signed they received their money.
This is not what we expected from a company as Window World that led us to believe their service and promises were as good as the quality of the windows. My contact information is provided below and it would be appreciated if this matter is addressed. I have a Facebook account with over ten thousand people that follow me. I also have access to your company’s Facebook page. The following is what intend to post:
“Window World has not kept their word on the contract to provide service after installation and sale of their window products. We have been ignored and the windows they installed are faulted including installation damage to our house. Window World is not to be trusted for service or quality.”
P. S. on Tuesday 9-6-2016 I called Window World of Orlando again and had no call back. At that time I also called Window World National Headquarters. I spoke to Penny J[redacted] and she said she would call the local branch and guaranteed me they would call back same day. It is now Thursday and no one has called or contacted us.
Sincerely,
