This school claims that the credits/units you earn there are transferable. You cannot transfer ANY credits from CCNN to ANY college in Nevada. After withdrawing and completing all necessary steps to withdraw from CCNN I got a report that they are still trying to collect loans from my account while I am not attending. I received a Disclosure statements showing their plan to disburse money to themselves for the entirety of the upcoming semester. I contacted [redacted] about this and they informed me that the College has an ongoing Loan out and that I would need to contact them to have it cancelled. I contacted CCNN to have them cancel it and they can't seem to find anywhere that they have this open.I will continue to keep in touch with the [redacted] and hope this is resolved. This school is claiming to be something that it is not. I think their accreditation needs to be looked into, as it has been several years.Product_Or_Service: College CoursesDesired SettlementI would like this business to remove my loans that they fraudulently added without my knowledge and after that is done I would like top no longer receive contact from CCNN or any of its affiliates (Email,Phone, and mail). Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted] attended Career College of Northern Nevada from 7/14/14 to 2/12/15. She attended classes in the Information Technology Specialist Associate Degree program. Tuition and fees for that program total $27,205 plus any fees for certification tests which are optional. At the time of her withdrawal a Refund Calculation was performed to determine the amount she would owe for the time she attended and she was charged a net amount of $12,146.24. She currently has a balance owed after deduction of payments made to date of $75.24.Allegation#1: Transfer of Credits policy is clearly stated on page 4 of our College Catalog which begins by saying "The Career College of Northern Nevada diploma and degree programs are designed with employment objectives in mind, and the student should not assume that the courses in any program can be transferred to another institution for credit."Allegation #2: Once a student withdraws from class the student is subject to the Cancellation and Refund Policy outlined on page 13 of the College Catalog and also copied on the student's enrollment contract. If the student feels that we have not applied that refund policy correctly the student should contact the Business Office to dispute those charges. In my preliminary review I see no errors in the calculation of the charges owed to the school for the period of time that [redacted] attended. The last payment made through the [redacted] Direct Loan program was on January 13, 2015, while the student was still enrolled and eligible for loan disbursements. All of her loans have been properly reported to the [redacted] through the [redacted]. She may have some outdated information on a disclosure statement from them that indicates CCNN would be disbursing loans in February or March 2015. That disclosure statement may have been generated prior to her withdrawal but the agencies have been notified properly by CCNN to cancel those loans.Allegation #3: Our college was reviewed for renewal of accreditation on July 23 and 24, 2013. Based on the review the school was reaccredited for a period of 5 years from the date October 2013. The [redacted] award CCNN a School of Distinction Award during the reaccreditation process. There will be no loans removed as there was no fraudulent activity as accused. [redacted] will be placed on a Do Not Call list but this will not discontinue any contacts for legitimate collection activity for any balance she owes the college.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I did not ask for a refund. I asked that the school stops trying to pull out prior loans. I also did not assume that credits were transferrable, I was informed by many employees at the college when I started. I have gone ahead and had [redacted] and student loans.gov remove and block CCNN from accessing my account. So once again, I have solved your mistake on my own. I'M EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED THAT THINGS ARE ABLE TO GO ON IN THIS BUSINESS AS THE DO. I have never felt so overlooked and abused in an institution. I'm happy to finally be at a school where my honor roll and perfect attendance awards mean something to the staff. Where the staff want you to succeed. I would still like all contact from this business to ceize. Final Business Response We have provided everything the student has asked for. She fails to acknowledge that we have complied with her request. I can't think of anything further to offer. Can Revdex.com provide mediation to resolve this?Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Yes, I feel I have resolved this issue on my own.

I dropped from school due to medical issues back from May to July of 2014. I sat in class for just 2 weeks and had to remove myself from class. I thought that CCNN would return my financial aide. CCNN told me I had to get doctor notes to reimburse my money. I gathered all the notes and the dean of the school should have returned the financial aide which happens to be grants and student loans. Nate, the dean, denied the funds to be returned. Now the school wants me to pay to get back into class. Career College of Northern Nevada has been putting me threw the ringer. I would like to have the school to refund my money so that I can go forward and earn my degree.Desired Settlement[redacted] grants and school lone money.Business Response The school has a clearly defined refund policy for students who withdraw. The policy is plainly printed on the students enrollment contract. The policy complies with State of Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education as well as the Accreditor's rules and requirements. If we did not follow that policy we will correct it. Every student is treated fairly by applying this policy in a uniform fashion.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have found that [redacted] and [redacted] give their students 2 weeks to see if they want to stay in the class or drop it. The students then receive their finances back. I don't understand why CCNN doesn't have that in their policy for financial aid for their students? I gathered all the information the school wanted and needed for my financial aid to be returned and they still denied it. I would like to go back to CCNN to finish my degree however the financial aid they received from me is making it difficult to return. Please help me to get my financial aid returned so I can afford to go back to school and finish what I started?Thank You,[redacted]Final Business Response As we stated earlier, the school clearly publishes a refund policy in the college catalog and copies it on the enrollment contract so that students can see what the charges will be before they enroll. If this policy was applied incorrectly we will need evidence of such and will act promptly to correct it.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I believe that CCNN should apply the 2 week grace period that [redacted] and [redacted] utilize for students. With [redacted] and [redacted] they give the students the 2 week policy to see if they like the class or classes. If the student does not like the class or classes and drops the class and the financial means refunded completely. I was unable to attend school due to medical reasons and I gathered all the information CCNN needed to return my financial means. After that CCNN denied to return the money. I soon found out that CCNN employees receive bonuses and commission from all the student's financial resources. At this time I am not very happy with CCNN's financial policies.

I have attended CCNN 2 different times, due to health issues, I have had to drop from the program. I have 2 different bills in collections from them. The first bill is about 1200 dollars and I am ok with that one and making payment arrangements. The second bill is for over 6000 dollars and I am not ok with that one. I am being charged for a while session, when I only attended one day of class and dropped within the appropriate amount of time. Actually, I dropped with in 2 days of attending. I have researched the law and it states if you drop within a certain amount of time, you will not be charged the whole semester.Product_Or_Service: 02/23/2014Desired SettlementI would like them charging me the whole session to be removed from my account and I will pay for one day if required, but not a while session, and I will continue making payments to the collection agency that I have set up now. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], PresidentContact Phone: 775-284-3920Contact Email: [redacted] first enrollment was 10/14/13 to 02/20/14. She completed three 6 week phases during this enrollment. The refund calculation is based on weeks attended divided by number of weeks in the academic year, there are 30 week in her first academic year. (18/30=60%) She was charged 60% of her Tuition and Lab in her first academic year, plus 100% of Books, and other fees. When [redacted] withdrew she had an account balance of $1387.88 owed after all payments were received which went to collections on 9/12/14. She made 3 payments to collections totaling $150.00. ($1387.88 - $150.00 = $ $1237.88).[redacted]'s second enrollment started 2/23/15 to 2/23/15, she completed 1 day. This one day brought her up to 19 weeks attended. (19/30-64%) She is now at 64%, however, anything over 60% we charge 100% of Tuition and Lab fees plus any other fees she accumulated this enrollment. This is where the AR balance of $6127.95 comes from.We did neglect to remove [redacted] from collections when she restarted on 2/23/15.After [redacted]'s withdrawal on 2/23/15 we sent her 3 invoices March, April and May. After receiving no response from her we sent her account to collections again on 6/12/15 in the amount of $6127.95.In order to resolve this in an equitable manner for both parties, Career College of Northern Nevada is able to ignore the second enrollment as if [redacted] never restarted. That one day of attendance causing her to pass into the 19th week will be reversed. She will only be charged for the books she received and did not return in like new condition. The charge for the books she did not return totals $335.97. The books added to her tuition and fee charges from her first enrollment, minus all payments received will leave her owing the college $1573.85.The college will contact the collection agency to reconcile her account. If she would like to discuss a more equitable settlement in full she can either contact the collection agency or the school directly.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I accept this resolution if CCNN does adjust the balance to the $1573.85 only. I have already contacted the collection agency to set up my payment arrangements and get this paid off. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. I will look forward to receiving the new statement in the amount of $1573.85. If CCNN does want to pull the account back from the collection agency, I will be happy to make the payment arrangement with you directly. My contact information is the same as when I was enrolled. Thank you again.
