I was told one thing about the school and was told another once I arrived 390 miles away to atend class with RoadMaster.I was contacted on by [redacted] on 08/20/2014 after going online trying to seek CDL Training. I told the young lady after the very first interview that I thought that they were a shaddy company due to the lack of professionalism while on the phone with her. I expressed to her that I already have $70,000 in student loans and that I was not interested in having my credit ran nor obtaining a co-signer for any type of loan. I was contacted later in the day by a [redacted] telling me how I could attend without paying anything but $180 for a permit and DOT Physical. I was told that the class was filled and that one person cancelled and that the next class wouldn't start until mid December. I expressed my concerns about such short natice and told him that I might not be able to do it until then. He continued on and on about how I was a veteran and that plenty of jobs in kentucky was waiting for me and that the school fills up quickly and the December class might be filled before I make up my mind. I was sent the packet and a conformation for a bus ticket to attend class on 9/8/2015. The letter states that the hotel is $40 a night and continental breakfast was included. Instead it was a drug infested hotel riddled with filth, roaches, mold, mildew, and mosquitoes. I asked to be moved to another hotel for my tuition money and was told by the owner of the company that the police would be called on me if I complain about it again. I called the Health Department due to the nature of the situation. A lady named [redacted] from [redacted] happened to be on site and I took her to my two rooms that I had been placed in with blood all over the walls and roaches crawling in, that I was suppose to pay for out my pocket in the end. We were supposed to have had a 3 day grace period to leave the school for 100% refund and no cost to us. They are suppose to tell people if their drug test were not in complaince and have a shot at taking the permit within the 72 hour period, they didn't they waited until it was to late to exercise that right and on the 4th day they began telling people about their screening and taking people to take the permit test for the 1st time. I want to be compensated for all of the lies, horrendous living conditions, and lost of wages with my previous employer due to switching and bait practices at RoadMaster Trucking School. Which equals out to my 100% refund and not oweing them anything because 9/11/2015 was the date that I found out that I could no longer attend and if they wouldn't have change the living conditions I would have left over the weekend anyway to find another avenue that wouldn't require a credit check and one job pre-hire. This company has inflicted hardships and mental anguish on majority of it's students by getting them to the site and then asking for hundreds sometimes thousands of dollars from it's students after the get there, extortion for better terms.Desired SettlementI want a 100% refund placed on my account like I had been their 3 days or less like it should have been, free and clear and never hear or see anything related to RoadMaster again on my credit in the future.Business Response Roadmaster Drivers School operates a Commercial Driver Training Program in [redacted] consisting of 160 clock hours of training to prepare individuals to take the Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License Examination. Complainant attended Roadmaster's program in September 2015. Complainant was provided with all information concerning Roadmaster's program, including the required enrollment criteria, cost and financing options available. Roadmaster maintains a relationship with a third party licensed hotel in [redacted] for use by its out-of-area students. Students are at all times free to arrange their own accommodations. Complainant indicated that her room was not satisfactory and Roadmaster moved Complainant into another room upon request, which Complainant indicated was acceptable. Roadmaster values each of its students and strives to provide excellent customer service to all of its students. While Roadmaster denies Complainant's various accusations and feels that Complainant was well informed of the costs of the program and payment options available, as a show of good faith, Roadmaster agrees it will not bill Complainant for hotel charges, bus ticket or other expenses incurred by Roadmaster on Complainant's behalf.

I wish to file a complaint on[redacted] Driving School for deceptive business practices. The charges they claim I owe are outrageous. On April 25,2014, I visited[redacted] Driving School in [redacted],AR to get information on attending their school. That day I was enrolled in school and was to start classes the following Monday. I was instructed to go for a drug screening/physical at my own expense, which I paid for and have receipts to prove. The drug screen/physical was $70.00. I also had to pay a $100.00 registration fee, which I paid that same day. None of these funds were refundable. I attended[redacted] for a total of 1 week and received my learners permit for my class a cdl. I along with several other students were called in to the finance office and asked to pay money even though I was told that I had been approved for a loan to pay for school. I was informed that I would have to pay $400.00 up front if I wanted to continue with school and receive my class a cdl.I explained that I had no idea that I would have to pay any other out of pocket expenses. I asked what the $400.00 was for.I was told that the money would be applied to the first 2 months payment of the loan I was approved for. I had a huge problem with paying on a loan that I hadn't received yet. The lady then told me that I should try to borrow the money from someone or take out a loan from my bank and use my car as collateral or take out a title loan. I was outraged at her suggestions. After seeing how money hungry they were I decided to leave their school after only one week. I received an outrageous bill from[redacted] claiming that I owe them $3297.50, which is ridiculous. They are charging $3197.50 for 59 hours of class. $100.00 registration fee that I paid. $70.00 for the drug screen/physical that I paid. Miscellaneous charges $30.00. Total $3297.50. I was informed that if I returned to school to complete the course that the collection would be set aside.I would appreciate your help in this matter. Desired SettlementI would like to have this matter resolved because I don't feel that I owe this amount for a week of class. [redacted] Driving School is robbing their students and it isn't right. Their business practices are deceptive and ridiculous.Business Response In response to the claim made by Ms.[redacted], the following information is offered and is based on records at the school location.1. The Complainant signed an enrollment agreement on April 28, 2014. That enrollment agreement clearly states the program costs as well as the required Cancellation and Refund Policy followed by [redacted].2. [redacted] records indicate the Complainant signed off agreeing that she attended 70 hours of instruction at [redacted] before she stopped attending classes.3. Complainant was approved for a 3rd party loan. The loan provider required a $400 Pre-payment, not [redacted].4. Complainant was withdrawn from school according to the [redacted] attendance policy for excessive absences without notifying the school on May 7, 2014.5. According to the Cancellation and Refund policy clearly stated on the enrollment agreement signed by Complainant, the refund amount for students who attend school for more than 25% of and less than 50% of the total program hours is not less than 50% of the tuition for the program. In this case, the Complainant attended 70 documented hours of training by her own signature out of a 160 hour training program equaling 43% attendance of the total program hours. As such, Complainant owes 50% of tuition in the amount of $6395.00 which equals $3,197.50. Additionally our records indicate that Complainant did not pay for the required drug screen and physical in the total amount of $100.00 and owes that amount in addition to the tuition charge. [redacted], as a show of good faith, will adjust the current balance downward to reflect a total outstanding charge of $3,197.50. [redacted] has followed its published refund policy and has provided all services to Complainant as stated in the Enrollment Agreement signed by Complainant. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] deceives its students by persuading them to sign agreements without fully knowing their terms and conditions. The total cost isnt known until after all those documents are e-signed. They didn't reveal the total amount until after the 1st week of class was over. And the interest rates on the loans are ridiculous. No one ever gave me a straight answer on how much I would be responsible for paying back after I repeatedly asked for this information. They just beat around the bush and said that all I had to worry about was the $400 payment the lender required me to pay upfront to cover my 1st and 2nd months payments. I was told that whatever company I decided to drive for would pay almost all of it as long as I worked for them. I was informed that if I didn't hurry and pay that I would be dropped. I was asked to get a loan from my bank to pay the $400 or get a title loan on my vehicle by Ms.[redacted] the financial placement manager. I thought that she was completely out of line to suggest that to me. I'm being charged an outrageous amount of money and didn't receive $3200 worth of schooling in 7 days I attende the school. I paid for my own drug screen and physical and have receipts to prove it. They lied about that. They should be shut down in my opinion for basically robbing and deceiving people that are trying to make a better life for themselves. They tell whatever lies necessary to get as many people in as quickly as possible without them knowing exactly what their getting into. I've gotten very nasty phone calls concerning this matter. And was told if I returned to complete the course that the matter would be disregarded. That's complete garbage. I've enclosed copies of my receipts for my drug screen and physical that they claimed they paid for. That is a lie.
