Mr*** entered into a contract to have a metal roof installed on his home and requested that we keep the gutters on. Carefree Metal Roofing has complied with the contract

Carefree Metal Roofing did contract with ***'s to install a metal roof on their home locatede at ** *** *** *** ** ***, MaineThe materials do come with a life time warrantyIn their complaint she claims Carefree Metal Roofing "guaranteed" there would be no leaks"Especially" around
the chimneythis is simply not trueCarefree Metal roofing would never and has made such claimsAfter the roof was installed the ***'s were very happy and satisfied and made the final paymentlater on after the completed installation a small leak occurred around the chimneyWe went back to the property and addressed itSoon after another small leak happened again and we serviced that as wellEach time there was a service call Mrs*** would become extremely hostile and verbally abusive towards usit is not uncommon to have a service call or two after installationEach time she reported an issue we were very responsive and had to work around the weatherBecause of all the verbal assaults and threatening lawyers to sue us, we no longer feel comfortable going onto Mrs***'s propertyUnfortunately the relationship has completely broken down

entered into a home improvement sales agreement to install a light roast custom metal roof on her homeThe contract specified no stripping of roofing materialsMs***'s contract was to install a metal roof over the old shinglesAccording to the international building code, section "Re Roofing", it is allowedMs*** contacted our office with concerns she had about not stripping her roofWe agreed to strip her roof with no further cost to herThank you very much in your attention to this matter.CareFree Metal Roofing

Carefree Metal Roofing, Inc. was contracted with the [redacted]'s to install a custom metal roof and we completed the project according to the specifications of the contract. part of her complaint was some left over screws on her lawn and we apologize for that and we do our best to leave every jobsite...

clean but there are times a few small scraps and or screws are left behind. As for the rest of the allegations we disagree.

Regards, The reasons why is 1. It was not installed the right way water leaks between metal roof and original roof. 2. They removed all vents including bathroom exaust which contract clearly states not to remove vents. 3. Damaged skylights that never leaked before causing water damage inside house. 4. Removing a large section of plywood in the rain to fix a support beam that [redacted] said he needed to replaced but never replaced plywood or insulation now all the heat is going right out through that section.   Also had water coming inside house while he was fixing beam. 5. [redacted] charged us $1,200 for lumber that [redacted] said on phone he already paid him for.  6. Not putting closures on ends that keeps cold air, heat, and bugs from going under roof. 7. We were told  licensed Master carpenters were going to install roof when asked the 3rd time they came over [redacted] and workers said they didn't need a license.

I do not agree with the owners response at all.  We asked them to come out several times and each time, as I stated in my prior complaint, we felt that a band aid was placed on the issue and it was never resolved.  Of course after they finished the roof we would have no idea of any leaking until it snowed or rained.  As soon as it did, I took pictures and sent them off to the owner of Carefree Metal Roofing.  The owner wasn't there for our conversation with their sales person and it was in fact stated that we would have "no ice dams and no chimney leaking" .  We were concerned about both.  I'm not sure how he would feel if this were to happen to him and his roof.  I certainly know if someone wasn't satisfied with my work, I would do whatever possible to make it right so as not to damage my business reputation.  I had also received a phone call from the company's sale representative and she stated that they were aware that the flashing around the chimney had been "compromised" when putting the metal roof on and they would do whatever possible to correct it.  To this date, the situation has not been corrected and for the owner of the company to state that I was rude is absurd.  We hardly said a word to the roofers as almost every time they came out to try to correct the chimney leaks, we weren't home.  I always asked to make sure we were home so that I could have them come inside and see where the water was coming in through the chimney.   I have every email that was sent to the owner regarding what he calls "a small leak"; I think by the photos you can see that the leak isn't small and all the pictures that were taken from the first leak and beyond.  As I stated in my prior complaint, they have been out several times and as much as the owner feels that our frustration with the situation is rudeness, he is very incorrect in stating that fact. I was never "verbally abusive" toward anyone.  Straight forward and frustrated, of course, but I'm fairly certain that anyone in our situation would feel the same way.  I do not accept the response submitted by the business.  Regards,
