Thompson Laundry Company Response to complaint [redacted] When the drapes were taken in on 9/24/16 they were priced at $6.75 per unit instead of per pound. This was an error that wasn’t discovered until after the drapes were cleaned and pressed. When the error was discovered the... price was changed to $51.36 which is appropriately priced for 7 pounds of drapes. Our company strives to provide the best possible care and cleaning to our customers’ garments and fabrics. Our labor, supplies and energy that go into cleaning drapes is reflected in the price at $6.75 per pound. Without charging enough to cover our costs, we wouldn’t be able to stay in business. Yes, a mistake was made in the beginning and we should have correctly quoted her the price. However, we did our best to clean, press and care for her drapes. While we would like to be fairly compensated for our time and resources used, we do understand her point of view as well. The owner was hoping to get a chance to explain the expense that goes into cleaning drapes and discussing a compromise. However he wasn’t given an opportunity to do so before the customer abruptly hung up the phone. We also would have like to have had the time to respond to this complaint through the BBB before the customer posted the complaint on our Google business page. We would hope we can come to a compromise on price that is fair for both parties. If the customer is not willing to do so, then she can pick up the drapes and we will honor the original pricing at the time of drop-off.
