To whom it May Concern:I have reviewed the attached complaint ID# *** from *** ***. I believe *** *** is confused. There is no second copay for the ultrasound performed on 4/*/in conjunction with her OB/GYN visit. The second copay that *** *** is being billed, is
for the pathology from her PAP smear done on the above date. Regardless of whether the PAP is examined by a Pathologist within CareMount Medical Group, or an outside laboratory, *** ***'s insurance plan states she has a separate copay for laboratory testing. DrBarbara W*** is pathologist at CareMount Medical Group. She examines all PAP smears performed by CareMount physicians. *** ***'s GYN performs the procedure to acquire the cells needed to be examined and the pathologist, in this case DrW***, does the actual examination to determine whether the cells are malignant or not.I hope the clarifies *** ***'s dispute. The billing is correct
