Perhaps the most disappointing experience with a contractor Their sales engine is successfulWe met with the owner; an extremely personable man that seemed to know his businessHow far from reality this statement has become? Upon paying the first 50% down, he communicated the process, his availability on site and a timelineUnfortunately, none of those items were correctHis team even commented that this is "typical Dan...Never writes anything down and is only interested in making a buck so he tells customers what they want to hear." Upon multiple requests for Dan to review the final product, he never showedEven communicating he'd meet me at home one morning at and never showedBrutal! A two week job turned into and the finish work is abysmalThey dropped a tool on one of the stairs and took a chunk outTheir fill doesn't match, the paint on the skirts is different than the balusters and there are a ton of gaps around the new stairsIn addition, the posts aren't even and aren't squareTo top it off, Jean the co-owner pushed hard for payment, rudely so before the job was complete to our satisfaction, seemingly their only concernThe craftsmanship is terrible We've to hire a painting contractor to fix and complete I do not recommend this contractor

Carey Custom Floors told us it was standard policy that the house key would be in a secure lock box on the property at all times when we signed upWhen the key was missing they claim the worker thought they were all done even though the toilet was still in the garage, baseboards were sitting on the kitchen counter, doors were sitting in the family room , tape was on the carpet and our refrigerator was sitting in the family room (with no pad under it even though they told us they would put a pad under it when we signed up)Twice when we talked to them they specifically said they had mailed the key back and it was not until the third call that they admitted they still had the key sitting there and they would drop it offThe owner showed no care and hung up on usAnother issue we had was that one of the workers just came upstairs and opened up our bedroom door while we in the room, claiming he needed a bathroomNever have we had another worker come upstairs and open doorsLater I found he had left a plugged toilet for me to plungeThey had also told us if we did not get the pantry floor redone we would never know the differenceWe notice the difference every time we step on the bump where they stopped the refinishing

Had the pleasure working with this company I was very impressed with their professionalism , and willingness to help me with every thing I needed to complete my flooring remodel
The owners were great at answering any questions I had and getting the job done in a reasonable time frameI would definitely recommend this company My floors turned out great and I am so happystars to care custom floors and remodel!

We were told our house key would be kept at the our location in a secure placeWhen we arrived home the key was missing and it took three phone calls and over a week for them to get our key returned to usThey did not seem to care at all when we spoke to them and actually lied to us several timesThey also tried to charge us for additional work which we never agreed to do
