Paul, and his crew were a pleasure to work with Friendly, professional, and efficientWe were in the middle of a frantic and quite unexpected job relocation move and needed someone QUICK to paint rooms and fix many imperfections in the walls before the movers arrived in week Paul was highly recommended, and as soon as he showed up for the estimate we felt he was a good fit for us They started first thing Monday morning and completed all repairs and were finishing up on the painting Friday as the moving van arrivedIt was not our wish to make them feel rushed to complete the job and sincerely hope they didn'tbut If they did it doesn't show in their work, they finished up, cleaned up, and Paul was even so kind to leave his floor tarps on the wood floors when he left and pick them up later so that the movers wouldn't scuff the floorsIt was a crazy hectic dayWhen we finally got to inspect the work we could not have been more pleased!! The walls are flawless and the paint work is beautiful! The cut lines from white ceiling to color walls is probably the most perfect we've ever seenClean trim work, no drips.etc Paul was very helpful to put us in contact with other contractors he trusted to do other assorted jobs around the house, as well as with helpful ideas on how we could finish the house In a move where everything else went wrong, this was the one thing that went rightWe highly recommend Carey Professional Painters, and will definitely use them again in the future

When renovating my home, I contracted Paul C*** to paint my entire houseHe was very responsive, punctual, had a positive attitude, and was priced near other professional painter's prices
Paul showed up on time for the job, and "completed" the job in the timeframe he estimated, and for the price he estimatedI use the term "completed" in quotes - because his and my definitions of "completed" apparently do not (and may never) align
I should give a little backstory to beginMy house had all the exterior walls' drywall removed and replacedWhen Paul arrived for the estimate, those walls had all been removed, but drywall had not yet been re-hungWallpaper had been removed from the kitchen, a bathroom, and most of the dining room and hallThe other walls were previously paintedAll the walls in the house (with the exception of two rooms) would be repainted
We discussed that the walls with wallpaper would require significant touchup before being repainted, and the drywall crew (not the painting crew) would do repairs to those walls before the painter arrivedFor other walls, Paul had commented that he would fill in nail holes and correct any blemishes, such as dents or cracksThe ceiling would have the 'dimples' filled in and sanded, and would also be painted
When it came time to paint, Paul and two assistants were in the house from roughly 7a to 3p each dayThroughout the painting phase, I stopped in the house almost daily to answer any questions, offer feedback, and verify progress was being madeThe crew was very politeSeveral times I pointed out areas that needed attention, and was reassured that they would be taken care of in due time
On the last day that the crew worked, I arrived at lunch as they were wrapping upI did a quick glance and found a few obvious areas that I had previously pointed outSince they had supposedly already done their inspection, I soon lost faith that they had inspected any of their work and I begin inspecting every surfaceThere were many places that didn't get a top-coat, several large drips and runs, and areas that had debris within the top-coatI would estimate that I placed near pieces of painter's tape on the walls that afternoon, marking areas that didn't meet my standards
I should note - my standards are as follows: From meter, inspect the wall for variations in (1) Sheen, (2) Texture, and (3) ColorI would say that 75% of the areas that I pointed out were visible with no closer inspectionSome were difficult to see without a light-source at an angle, which is why I carried a flashlight around during my inspection
About half of the marked areas were "addressed" that day before they departedBut many were poorly addressed (debris was scratched off with sandpaper, burnishing the wall, bare areas were hit with a brush instead of a roller, leaving obvious texture variation.) I was left with a house that, in my opinion, was not finished
That evening, I went around again, and touched up what areas I could with some of the paint that was leftoverWhen I was done, I remarked the remaining areas that needed reworkedThere were about areas leftAt this point, I contacted Paul, and he agreed to meet me at the house to review these areas
The problems that remained included:
1) The kitchen and master bathroom, where flat paint was used as a base, but eggshell was used as a topcoatThe topcoat was not applied thouroughly, leaving many areas that had an obvious difference in sheen
2) Areas that the topcoat did not fully cover the primer, leaving white spots
3) Areas with large drips or runs
4) Areas with debris in the topcoatMostly fibers from rollers or particles of (presumably) dried paint
Upon reviewing every area with Paul, I was told that what I was seeking was 'perfection'; if I wanted 'perfection' I should have asked for that up-frontSome defects were blamed on defects present before painting, but I pointed out that all those defects were present DURING the estimate, and if he believed that these would show after he had completed, it was his responsibility to show me the potential problem-areas so either 1) they could be addressed before painting or 2) he could factor that into his pricing
He spent a few more hours reworking the areas that I pointed outSome were resolved satisfactorily, but upon his departure, I still was left with areas that weren't touched or were still not resolvedI have photos of such areasMost are poor coverage of the topcoat and large runs
My primary concern is that during the painting process, the painters weren't inspecting their workIf they had, they would have easily found 75% of the problems that I didIt's the big problems that I found as they were cleaning up that led me to look closer at the details and find even more small blemishes in their work
I can't in good faith recommend Paul's team to anyone with an eye for detail

Paul was a professional from start to finishHe provided a fair and competitive bid, and completed work on the timeline he providedAfter completing of work (the estimated time) paul came back for a 3rd day to complete the job to his quality standards My wife and I pointed out a few areas of concernPaul was receptive to our concerns and addressed the issue immediatelyI would recommend to anyone and will return for future business

I recently contracted with Carey Painting to paint our year old kitchen cabinets Paul and his crew did an excellent job I found the price to be very competitive Paul gave us a timeline which involved working around other contractor's schedules He explained each step in the process, and kept me informed of his schedule each day of the project I would recommend Carey Painting to family and friends

We recently hired Paul to stain a deck his honesty, integrity and professionalism exceeded our expectationsWe look forward to utilizing him on future projects!

We recently purchased an older home (plaster walls) and had some extensive remodeling done When all was completed, Paul came in to do the painting If you've ever dealt with old plaster, you know it's not an easy task to cover and camouflage walls that look like spider webs Paul did an excellent job! Ceilings, walls, crown molding, baseboards and window trimexcellent work on all counts! We also had the exterior brick painted, which made a 1000% improvement with Paul's craftsmanship He's also a very nice man with good character We would highly recommend him to all of our friends and family

I cannot say enough positive things about Paul Carey and his crew They recently painted my home Paul is very knowledgeable and does exactly what he says he will do They are prompt and show up when they say they will They are detailed orientated and do meticulous work They cleaned up after they had completed the job Paul and his team are courteous, and it was a pleasure to have them working at my house I have had bad luck with painters in the past, but no more....I now know who I will call for painting jobs in the future

Damage was done to my home by Carey PaintingSloppy work by unprofessional, unsupervised workers
I hired Carey Painting to clean, seal, sand and paint the interior of my homeThe completion date was delayed several times resulting in delay of work scheduled by other contractorsNo detailed quote or written contract was providedWork was performed 11/through 11/19/by unskilled, unprofessional, unsupervised workers
I trusted Mr *** with a house keyI found it outside near the front doorI returned unexpectedly on 11/to find an employee and his girlfriend alone in my homeThey were not workingI learned she had previously been in my home
Electric and cable outlets, switches, cords and wiring were spray painted and must now be replaced to meet code requirementsThe cable technician claimed vandalism of propertySeveral walls have sanding "swirl" marks under fresh paintAll doors and trim were sanded indoors and spray painted over excessive sanding dust leavi

Paul C*** does professional, high-quality workMore importantly, he is an honest guyI hired Paul to paint and do some minor repairs to my deckUpon starting the job, he let me know that he could complete the painting as we agreed, but the repairs I had thought were minor were actually much more serious than I'd realizedPaul showed me the damage lurking underneath, and helped direct me to carpenters who could rebuild a section of the deckHe could have easily ignored the severity of the damage and given it a band-aid fixI wouldn't have known the difference (for a while) and it would have been more money in his pocketBut he didn't do thatHe was honest and direct with me, even though it meant less work (and money) for himThis is the kind of integrity I look for in anyone I contract withI will certainly work with him again, and will recommend him to others

We recently hired Paul to stain our backyard cedar fenceOur experience with Paul and his team was wonderfulStarting from my first contact with Paul He answered the phone on the first attemptHe scheduled to meet me, the next morningHe showed up, on time He looked at the project and promised to email an estimate by the end of the dayI received the detailed estimate, by the end of the dayHe patiently and without complaint, applied many color samples on the fenceHe and his team showed up when he said that they would He communicated any changes to the schedule He offered suggestions on some caulking for the fenceHe and his team were courteous, clean and very professionalWe have found our new paint contractor for all future painting projectsWe highly recommend Paul Carey Painting!

I had two rooms painted by Carey Painting The job was completed on time and Paul's team were very professional They cleaned up and left the house looking great I would use them again
