The client did sign a contract for an estate sale at a cost of $3500. When we arrived in the home to begin work, we immediately saw there were not enough items  remaining to generate that amount of sales.  I tried to contact the clients by phone and email as they were out of state. Neither was successful.  I felt the best option to generate revenue for them was the auction, where the bidders determine the selling price, in comparison to proceeding with an estate sale.

This situation was different because I could not reach the clients to explain the transfer from the physical estate sale approach (where they would definitely come up short.) I was trying to generate revenue for them by using the on-line auction tool since I could  not reach them. 
My goal was not to devalue the items or have my clients be disappointed. However, I do understand and acknowledge their frustrations.
