Every credit card used must be preauthorized by the banking institution involved. Our signage by each credit card swipe clearly states that there will be a $preauthorized amount attached to the credit card, which falls off to business days after the final dollar amount used is posted by
the bank
In this case, the customer used his card on Sunday, April 3rd and complained on Monday, April 4th. I've checked with my credit card processor and Mr*** was only charged $3. He should continue to check with his bank to see when the $preauth falls off
In summary, Mr*** requested he be reimbursed for $which, obviously, I am declining to do. Mr*** also stated that no one called him back. That is because the employee who manages our self serve washes was off Monday and Tuesday, and left a phone message with Mr*** when he returned to work on Wednesday
