Review: My fiance and I hired Carlos's contracting company to do renovation construction in our new home that we bought in November 2013. What we needed was all walls down and new walls up and new ceilings. After I was done with the electric in the walls [redacted] and his "team" of workers started putting up sheetrock, taping, plastering, and sanding the walls and ceilings. When they left they told us our house was ready to be primed. My fiance and I started priming the house to get ready for paint and that is when all the problems with his job started to show! In the living room I vaulted the ceiling and when primed and painted two outlines of the sheetrock are showing , no seams where sheetrock meet are straight. He laid the sheetrock boards down so they stood up 4' and you can see every seam around the entire living room. All the walls in the entire house that he did are not straight up and down, they curve. Where there was not proper tape and spackle jobs there are tiny holes and bumps in the wall in the two bedrooms upstairs and on the ceilings throughout the house. In two closets off of our living room all the walls have so many bumps and rough edges. [redacted]'s team removed our old door and set our new front door. They set the new front door to forward. Now the walls around the door buck are falling apart. The entire job was not done properly and the quality of work and customer service is extremely poor.We had spoken to [redacted] about these issues and his men came back to fix some issues without [redacted] twice. The problems were still not fixed. The third time [redacted] came with his workers to look at the mistakes and he promised to come back to fix the issues himself at the end of March. The end of march turned into the beginning of April then the end of april, then beginning of May. He never ended up coming back to fix the issues. He only answers our phone calls if it comes from a number other then our cell phones which are the two numbers he has to contact us. We want to file a complaintDesired Settlement: We would like a refund of $8,200.00

first me and my team did what we could to the best of our abilities. the house was in very bad shape. a lot of the beams were crooked and not straight. our clients were informed that fixing the beams would be an additional cost. the client did not want to pay the extra money so we continued with the remodel.

we also removed the old ceiling in the kitchen and were never paid for that ($500), we also installed new ceiling in the kitchen and never were paid for ($500). we made openings in the dining room, and two bedrooms for air conditioners and were never paid for ($600) each room. we removed washing machines from the basement and were never paid for ($300). we removed carpeting from entire house and were not paid ($400). we also sanded all walls in the house and were not paid ($3,500.). there were a lot of little things we did for them and were not paid for. we strive to do our best every time we do a job.

I just received the response from [redacted] and I cannot

believe what I am reading. If his work is to the best of his ability he has absolutely

no reason to be in the business of construction. I am a union Electrician and

go to constructions sites everyday. I see the very beginning of jobs to the

very end. I know how construction is properly done and [redacted] has no

business being licensed or insured with what his final product looks like. We

were given one set price for all the demolition in the house which included

removing the carpet as well as the old washer and drying (to which he kept)

which was $2100. He claims to have made opening’s in the dining room and bedrooms

for air conditioners, which were never cut. Actually PC Richards just came to

install air conditioners and had to cut the house. His team placed our Brand

New Air conditioner (1500 BTU) on a 3 inch screw which punctured the Freon and

the air conditioner was garbage after that ($500). The bottom line is I can

give cost for destroyed sheet rock, screws, tape, sanders, sand paper, plaster,

time, primer, paint, paint brushes and all the work the was done incorrectly.

If this is the best of your ability shame on you. I paid a fair price for what

you said your company could do. The bottom line is we paid for a job and it was

not done professionally and now I am asking for the money to properly fix my

house. This is unacceptable.
