Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for trying to help us with this complaint. Please review the documents I sent to Revdex.com previously. Our customer [redacted] signed on more than one place acknowledging that everything should be in writing, and the truth is that we did not promise him anything besides what he has on paper. We give him 30 days 1000 miles limited warranty and he signed the buyer guide with that information. After purchasing the vehicle, he took it to [redacted] and their job is to up sell everyone that brings a car for service and that is exactly what they did to him. They told him a bunch of stuff that we never promised him we were going to pay for. If he decided that he was going to do the service, than he has to pay for it, so I am not sure what he is so upset about.
We price our vehicles based on the condition and he purchased it in the condition it was. He needs to understand that he purchased a vehicle that is 10 years old and that we are not going to pay to make it new. I am not sure what problem he had with the emission test, but we use a licensed emission and inspection place to perform that work, however we don't do emission on all our cars, because not every county in Virginia requires emission. If he has a problem with the emission we did, I would be more than happy to help him with that. If you have any other questions, please free to contact me at [redacted].
Sincerely,

Review: I paid the dealership for my tags now they saying I have to take off my job to go pick up my tags and don't want to give me my money back for paying them. I asked why they couldn't get them he gave me several lies and different explanations which didn't make since and then just said the lady dealing with the tags haven't been in the office but no refund of my money nor a real explanation and then I asked for the corporate number he again lied and said they don't have a corporate numberDesired Settlement: I would like my tags and an apology

Review: I recently purchased a vehicle from this place. Upon purchase the contract stated that this vehicle was inspected and road ready. The day after delivery of he vehicle I noticed some shking in my front drivers side wheel. Upon getting to work (Commute form Stafford VA to Washington DC Daily) I noticed that the new tire they put on my vehicle was missing all but one lug nut. I had to call them and have the staff deliver new lugnuts so I could make it back home from work. The very next day the check engine light came on and back hatch on the vehicle started opening on its own. The day after that the locking mechanism on the drivers side door handle literally fell off! I then took the vehicle back to the dealership because it was under a 30 warranty. They took my vehicle and said they would fix the problems. It has now been over a month and I was notified last week that my vehicle was there but the only thing that was fixed was the check engine light. They had my vehcile for 30 days... long enough to where the contact could not be voided or ratified. I was then told by the dealership manager that the owner would fix the rest of my vehicle after I paid him the rest of my down payment. Why did they sale me a broken car in the first place. I have tried to work this out with the dealer but all they do is give me the run around. I am now in jeopardy of losing my job because they will not fix my vehicle or give me my down payment back ($200) to put towards another vehicle. We only have one vehicle that my wife uses to take our kids to school. I have had to borrow a vehicle for the time being which has been a major inconvienience. I am a [redacted] Wounded Warrior trying to make my life work in the civilian world because I was medically retired from service due to injuries incurred in Iraq. I dont appreciate being treated like this when I have so wholeheartidly given myself for these same people to practice bad business. Something must be done before I have to deal with it my way.Desired Settlement: I want my money backand contract voided. I would also like an apolgy for being traeted like this. I also want the [redacted] public to know how this business treats it's Active Duty Military and Veterans being that it is so close to a Marine Corps Base.

I received your letter about the complaint from [redacted], and honestly I am very surprised that he filed a complaint. He purchased the car from us and we give him only 30 days engine and trandsmission warranty, but we still take care of his car for him. When he dropped the car for repairs, we called him multiple times, but he wouldn't answer the calls. he never told us that he wants to return the cr and wants his down payment back or we would have given him his down payment back. When he did come back to talk to us and said he wanted to get a different car, we put him in a different care and used his down payment towards the new car which was a [redacted] and he purchased that on 12/19/2013. I am not sure why he is filing a complaint. If we are that bad, than why did he buy another car from us? If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me at [redacted].

Review: The business refused to refund a $500.00 hold deposit made on a vehicle we were attempting to purchase. We were not notified the deposit was non-refundable, the sales associates spoke persian with my husband instead of english leaving out necessary details of purchase, we were showed paperwork for a previous customer that left a hold check on this vehicle already. We were hounded by the sales associates and threatened repeatedly if we did not come purchase the car they would sell it to the person who left the check mentioned above. When we decided not to purchase the vehicle they refused to refund the hold deposit for the vehicle. I called and explained this to the finance manager who states he would "ask the owner, but cannot make any promises."Desired Settlement: Refund of $500.00 deposit.

Review: I purchased a vehicle 2-4-2015. That same day I noticed a service park assist light as well as the DVD/CD system had a DVD stuck in it from the previous owner. I notified Carmart and they scheduled an appointment that next Monday to have the car looked at. Monday 2-9 I drove all the way from my home in Fredericksburg to Manassas where the shop was located. the shop told me that the car DVD system would need to be replaced and they would need to order the sensor to fix the park assist light. I called Carmart and let them know this and they agreed to fix this problem.the repairman told me to be back that Saturday February the 14th and drop my car off the entire day. I return February the 14th at 9 a.m. and drop my car off. I picked my car up around 7 p.m. that night and to my surprise it was not fixed. the repairman told me I would need to return my car again but once the parts came in to fix it. I was pretty upset that I wasted an entire day only to be told the same thing he said on 2-9. Since then I have heard nothing. I have made several calls to Carmart. I have came by Carmart several times.I When I come by they tell me they'll find out what the status is and call me tomorrow. They never call. have sent text messages to the employees asking what is the status of my repair. I even went to the shop in Manassas to see if they had answers for me. The repairman notified me that the parts were still on backorder and that Carmart would call me when the parts came in. I would like Carmart to fix this problem immediately. It has been two months and it shouldn't take this long for parts to arrive. I bought the car like this and they agreed to fix it. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.Desired Settlement: Fix the service park assist light and the DVD system that has a DVD stuck in it. Fix it immediately. Two months is unacceptable to be waiting for a repair.

Dear [redacted],

Review: I purchased a used [redacted] from Car Mart on July 25th, 2014 (and paid cash). During the purchase I asked if I had a time frame to have the truck inspected, which I was told by the sales rep was one month. I also asked if Car Mart had a mechanical inspection of the vehicle completed prior to listing it, which they assured me had been done. The truck also came with a recent emissions inspection, completed by Car Mart. I dropped off the truck at [redacted] on 01 August (2014) for them to inspect the truck. During the time of purchase and me dropping the truck off, I drove the car approximately 40 miles. During [redacted] inspection the truck was found to be in need of approximately four thousand dollars of repairs, most of which were mandatory, not optional. The timing belt was never replaced at 90k miles (when I purchased the car it had just over 114k miles), the exhaust system was rusted, drive belts needed replacing, power steering rack had to be replaced, and both front sway bar links were broken. The exhaust system and power steering repairs were automatic cause for the truck to have not passed the emission inspection. DMV refused to issue tags for the vehicle since the emission sticker, albeit a legitimate sticker, was not done by State/required standards as required by law due to the pre-existing mechanical issues at the time of the purchase. I contacted Car-Mart and at their request went to the dealership. The sales rep who sold me the car subsequently admitted Car Mart's mechanical inspection consist of "checking the fluids", and since he (sales rep) had not put the one month inspection period in writing, Car Mart would not honor any repairs. Car Mart did offer to pay for 50% of the needed repairs, but the repairs were to be done by the their mechanic, which was the same person who did the initial "fluid check". I ended up paying to have another emissions inspection done, and Car Mart refused to pay for any of the repairs since they were not done by their mechanic.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for repairs.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have never met, nor spoken to [redacted]. He has no first hand knowledge of my transaction with CarMart. As for [redacted] reference to the buyers guide I signed, he is correct in that it has a limited warranty which covers 50% of the repairs, which is what I asked from CarMart. Also, as referenced in the previously submitted paperwork is the CarMart Vehicle Checklist that states the vehicle has a valid inspection sticker, which it was later learned did not. Stafford County, where CarMart is located, and where I purchased the [redacted], requires a valid emission, which CarMart did not provide. Now CarMart via [redacted], alleges [redacted] (of Stafford), where the repairs were completed, is a sub-par business which makes unnecessary repairs. [redacted] has an A+ Revdex.com rating. I would ask CarMart to provide specifics of instances they are (factually) aware of where-in [redacted] charged CarMart for nefarious repairs. Also, I request that CarMart please provide the complaint numbers which they (CarMart) filed against [redacted] via the Revdex.com.

However, here is the timeline of events so [redacted] will have a factual understanding:

July 25th-I purchased the vehicle at CarMart after explaining to the finance manager, [redacted], that I planned to have it "checked out" by [redacted]. Never once was their mention of that [redacted] dealership historically making unnecessary repairs. As previously cited, CarMart uses that same [redacted] dealership.

She then went back to CarMart and discussed this with [redacted] and [redacted]) who never offered any assistance.

August 11th-My wife called and spoke to [redacted], who in turn ([redacted]) asked my wife to contact me requesting that I come by CarMart on August 12 to meet with [redacted]. After my wife relayed the message to me, I then called [redacted] and he told me I could swap the [redacted] for a [redacted] truck, and he requested I come by CarMart on August 12th at 3pm. I informed [redacted] I would have to take time off from work, but would do so.

August 12th- I arrived at CarMart at 3pm and was told the [redacted] was sold and that [redacted] "was busy". After waiting until 4:20, and having never met with[redacted], I left the dealership.

August 14th-[redacted] called and spoke to me, apologizing for the way CarMart had handled the transaction. He said it was "bad business" on behalf of CarMart. I told [redacted] all I wanted was reimbursement for the repairs which had to be completed to bring the [redacted] into compliance so it would pass a Valid inspection. Had CarMart adhered to it's own vehicle checklist which was provided at the time of sale to me, these repairs would have previously been completed (by CarMart) in order to pass a valid inspection. These repairs should come at no cost to me. Otherwise, I paid to bring a truck to state/federal standards for CarMart to sell, which otherwise it would have been unable to do so…..unless it provided a illegitimate inspection. [redacted] concluded by saying he would talk to[redacted], and again apologized for CarMart's bad business practices.

August 20th: My wife called [redacted] to see what had been decided. [redacted] told my wife that [redacted] informed him ([redacted]) "Were going to do nothing."

It would be my recommendation to provide the repair itemization receipt from [redacted] to a certified third party mechanic. Let that person decide what repairs should have been completed prior to the sale to meet state/federal inspection guidelines.

[redacted]As I went to the glove compartment of the truck tonight to retrieve [redacted] contact information to include them on distribution, I found a Rejection notice from the Virginia State Police dated July 3, 2014 (twenty-two days prior to my purchase) for a failed inspection. This will be sent to the Revdex.com via separate correspondence. I'd ask that CarMart provide any records of repairs done prior to my purchase of the truck to prove this vehicle was brought up to inspection standards.
