This complaint is about the front desk at Carolina Breast & Oncologic Surgery - NOT the doctor. After an appointment in Aug 2013, I was given a bill. We discussed the charges and what my insurance might pay. In a statement received Nov 2013: the charges for the visit were tripled.I called the office and was told, by two different people, that initially I had been quoted the wrong price. And the bill was for the difference between what I was quoted and their changed rate (NOT an insurance issue). I have tried to work this out with the office, to no avail. Yesterday I received 2 bills (same bill, evidently they sent one to the wrong address initially). And today I received a call that they are sending me to collections because they have sent me numerous bills. It seems illegal that they would be able to quote one price and realize their mistake months later and come to me for the difference. (As a small business owner, if I quote somebody a price, I can not come back 3 months later with a different price).Desired SettlementI have already paid what they initial bill was IN FULL. I do not want to pay the difference as it was their mistake. And I certainly should not be sent to collections as this matter is in dispute.
