It has been at least a year since I have patronized this establishment. And last night, 1/13/16 will be the last time I will ever enter any establishment associated with CBI. After flying to RDU to meet with my Godson to celebrate his new job, he suggested that we go to CBI since he loved the place so much. It saddened me that in all his excitement, he was carded and denied an alcohol beverage. His old driver's licensed has expired which he showed the waiter, but he also presented his Penn State Driver's License Camera Card, which allows him to use an id/ legally drive until he can return home and get a photo license within the next 60 days. The form clearly validated his date of birth as well as other exacts on the expired driver's license. The waiter and the manager took his documents out of our view which was not necessary or acceptable, nor did they offer an apologetic notion as to why they were denying him a beer. We immediately vacated the premises. I took this matter very personal and reentered CBI to speak with the manager. I wanted a clearer understanding of her decision of denial. I even asked her why she could not accept a document that any law enforcement would deem valid if we were stopped while driving. She clearly said she was the end all to this decision in that establishment and that she did not want to risk serving alcohol to someone with that type of document. I queried my opinion to her, you are saying you are above the law? In addition, her bartender interjected only to further make this situation more of a discriminatory matter than anything substantial with his rhetoric of what types of id they accept that included any out of state id(which was presented). I was dressed in my company uniform and would never risk my job by patronizing any establishment with a minor attempting to purchase alcohol. It is very clear that there was more to this matter than a risk, I will never step foot in that place, or its associates, ever again; and will actively protest anyone that I know who would suggest they wanted to. All because of a $3.00 pint of beer and a staff of unprofessionals.
