I am quite frustrated with this store and may need to file suitI have two items that have sold since Nov and have not got paidI've have called and gone there multiple timesThey lie and make a bunch of stories

It has been over one month since my item sold at Carolina Consignment shop, and I have not received my check. In my recent research, other reviews on Google state that the owner never returns calls, and that you will NEVER get paid! The staff informed me that checks are mailed out monthly, and you are to receive your check about one month after your item sells. That time has passed, and I still have not been paid. I even went to the store to inquire about my payment, and was told the owner would call me that day. Guess what? No phone call. Looks like I am going to have to file criminal and civil complaints, to be treated fairly.

I consigned an antique Drexel dresser for $595 and a antique vanity stool for $145. I was told the dresser sold 8/2015 and the stool recently. I call or visit the store weekly, only to be avoided payment and instead constantly told by the clerks that they have informed the owner that I want to be paid, but the owner [redacted] never responds. I was promised 75% of the sale amount ($595) of the dresser by a manager [redacted],and the stool was 50% of sale amount($145). No one should have to wait 6 months after the store has collected money for your merchandise, to be paid or not even get a response as to when to expect payment. I deserve an answer as to why I have not been paid and when can I expect my money. I only wonder how many other customers besides me have not received their money.Desired Settlementpayment of 75% of sale of dresser sold for $595 =$446.25 and 50% of sale of vanity stool sold for $145 =$72.50 for a total of $518.75 I am owed.

Failure to pay for goods sold on consignmentCarolina Consignment received goods from us along with a signed consignment agreement on November 10, 2015. On December 18, they provided us a written price list and confirmed in writing over $1200 in sales (of which we are to receive 50%). Over 20 items remained in their possession with an estimated original pricing of $1500+. Requests to be paid in December (as required by the agreement) were not honored; both email and a visit to the store have been unsuccessful to secure payment or a complete accounting of the remaining merchandise.Desired SettlementPayment of all amounts due for sold items and an accounting of the remaining inventory, along with any future payments based on additional sold inventory.

Consignment company that does not honor its contract to pay you for items they sold within time frame they indicate. I consigned furniture with this company in Oct 2015. The contract they gave me says that they pay you for the items they sell, the month after they sell your items. They sold some of my items on 11/10/15. I contacted them in mid Dec to see when exactly I would be getting my check. I called the store atleast 6 times over 4 days asking to speak to the manager or to have him call me back bc the sales associate said she does not have anything to do with payment being released. When I first started calling, she told me that she would try to find out something, but she never returned my calls, nor did the store owner. My husband went to the store after a few days of unreturned calls and we were told the sales associate could not give us the info to speak with the owner and that the only way to contact the owner was to stop by the store and catch the owner there. However, everytime we have been to the store, except for the time when we consigned our furniture, the owner has never been there. I told the associate if the owner did not call me back, that I was feeling like we were getting the run around and that we were not going to be paid the $540 that the store owed us in Dec. On 12/18, I went to the store before they opened and waited in the parking lot to see if I could "catch" the owner. After the store opened, the owner showed up and I went into the store and told him who I was. He acted as if he did not know that I wanted to talk to him although I had left 5 or 6 messages with his staff and had sent 2 emails to the store by this time. When I Asked the Sales Associate in front of him, did she give him my messages and she said yes, and then he said, well I misunderstood that you needed a call back. At that point, I asked him when would I receive my payment for my furniture that they sold and he said sometime in Dec. I asked could he give me a date of when checks were cut and he said he didn't have that info. THE OWNER OF THE STORE COULDN'T FIND OUT WHEN CHECKS WOULD BE CUT. He said he sends the info to the accountant and she takes it from there. I explained to him that he could call his accountant and get that info for me, but he said no he couldn't bc she was out of town. I explained to him that he is legally obligated to pay us by his contract which would be in Dec and if we were going to get a check, he should have an idea of when. He said he doesn't work at the store, he just owns it. I explained to him as a business owner, he is responsible for ALL issues that customers have with his business including late or nonpayment issues. He pays his accountant and he should be able to get us a date and check number for payment. Today is 12/30 and I did not receive a check from him in my mail today. I had asked him to give me something in writing on the day that I talked to him stating I would have a check by 12/30 and he said he would get it to me. Obviously, he never got me that or called or emailed me with the check info that I requested more than 2 weeks ago. This store is consigning furniture and then not paying clients their share that they are legally obligated to pay them. I have a contract from them stating their practices that they are not upholding. The owner of the business does not want to be bothered by customers unless they are consigning furniture that he has paid nothing for or unless someone is buying from him. He has no desire to talk to clients who have provided him with the items to make money and who only want their 50% that the store says they will get. A good business owner would return calls regarding payment inquiries and they would provide you with a check date and amount. If I have not received my check that will be LATE next week, I will have to spend my own money to obtain a lawyer to enforce the contract that I have from them. This store is BAD BUSINESS. I would not consign any items with them and I would not recommend doing business with a place that has such an careless and unethical owner.Desired SettlementI am not seeking a refund. I am actually seeking payment that he owes me for my furniture he told me he would consign and reimburse me 50% in Dec. He has failed to provide me with any check information and I do not have the check by today which is when I was finally told I would have it, and that is the last date according to his contract. If I get the check next week, in JAN, it will be late and that is IF I even get it then. They sold my items before middle of November so I'm unclear as to why i'm waiting almost 60 days to be paid. We were told by sales associates on two different occasions that our payment issues may have something to do with the accountant having some personal issues going on and that delaying payment or that the owner was dealing with an issue of a former employee who was taking money from the business. None of these are issues that should affect our payment from a business. Those issues should not affect the service you give your customers regarding payment you owe them.

Remittance balance due on consigned items (consignee's share) not paid in due time. Several e mails were sent with no response. We were sent info on each item sold, our split on the sale. However, though one payment was made, we are still owed $371.50 on the sale. Items were noted as sold in Sept./Oct., 2015.Last e mail sent on 12/3 and manager said she would ask owner about payment. No response./////Desired SettlementWe would like the payment due to us as described in e mails and as per contract./////

I consigned 3 furniture items with this shop and they were sold in Nov. '15. The owner refuses to pay us for the sold items. DON'T CONSIGN OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE! I too am awaiting a check for 3 items sold in November. Their website clearly states payment will be made the month after items are sold. Well it's been 2 months now and nothing. I've called at least 6 times, emailed at least 5 times, I even stopped in to discuss, but the sales person took a snooty attitude with me and said she wouldn't speak to me. She'd pass on the message to the owner...I don't know how one operates a business this way. I'm a reasonable person, yet the "owner" refuses to communicate or discuss the money we are owed. I just don't get it. I'm a supporter of local businesses, but this business is giving Durham small businesses a black eye.Desired SettlementI want payment for the items sold! Their website clearly shows the customer will be paid the month after the items sell. It's been two months now and nothing. The owner refuses to return my calls or emails, and the sales people are clueless and "notify" the owner of my calls. There are other complaints lodged for the same issue.

Carolina Consignment Shop was consigning my items to sell. They have left with no contact and no forwarding address, with my items.Carolina Consignment Shop was under contract with me (consignor) to to sell my consignment items. They have closed their shop, and moved everything out of the store. They still have my items of which I was not compensated for. They did not contact me prior to leaving, nor any forwarding address, or contact information was given. My last contact/owner for them is [redacted]. They have stolen 19 of my items.Desired SettlementEither get my items back intact, or compensation for said items.

Furniture was consigned at this business and a check was due for those sold, but never got the check. Had furniture at the store that is now empty.September 24 2015 furniture (4 items) was picked up from my home and delivered to Carolina Consignment Shop in Durham with a document signed for them to consign my furniture with a 50/50 split. October 2015 items sold and was told a check was mailed, which I never received. Checked back again in December, they said the check had been mailed. I noted there were still 2 items of mine in the store which they said they would continue to try to sell. I contacted them via email a few months later and no reply. Went to the business MArch 2016 and the store was empty.I understand the store went out of business with no warning to me or other clients.Items sold: TV stand, rustic swivel top- $150.00. Futon with pillows- $225.00Items not sold: Large China Cabinet with butlers desk - $1100.00. Antique 4 drawer chest of drawers - $250.00Desired SettlementI would like a check for the items sold and either the other items back or a check for those items also.
