Carolina Custom Remodel and Stone Reviews (2)

The job estimate was 3 to 4 working days to completely remodel/ upgrade your kitchen with painting, new cabinet hardware and new granite counter-tops.The add said $5,000.00 to remodel complete kitchen. However, he said it would be $6,000.00 to do my kitchen because I had more cabinets and counters than their maximum, I didn't see that in their add. He needed a $3,000.00 deposit to purchase the granite material. It took nearly 2 weeks to paint and install back-splash tile with constant excuses about why we have no granite counter-tops. After another week of excuses for no counter-tops he said we could call it even and I could go to another contractor to finish the job.I wanted him to finish the job he started and the counter-tops were the most important part of the job. Besides I figured he had about $1,500.00 invested and this would require a refund, but he said he had more than the $3,000.00 invested.Keep in mind all through this time we are living out of our bedroom, because the kitchen counter tops and sink are removed all all the kitchen cabinets and drawers were emptied and put in storage for this job!!Finally, after another week of excuses I told him he was in violation of his 3 day contract and I couldn't wait any further for my kitchen to be completed so I wanted a refund and I was going to hire another contractor.Desired SettlementCarolina custom remodeling & stone invested 3 gallons of paint at about $30.00 each and 300 back-splash tiles at $.22 each, this is a total of $156.00 in material. If you add some perishable materials the total cost couldn't be more that $200.00 dollars. There was approximately 50 hrs of labor at a cost of #1,250.00.However, I supplied the cabinet hardware, at a cost of $200.00, and he said he would compensate me and he never did. He painted the cabinet hinges instead of changing them and the pint is coming off. Also, you can see where he sprayed the hinges on the wood cabinets and there are spray shadows around all hinge areas all over the cabinets. In short the cabinet paint job is far from acceptable.I tried to negotiate a reasonable refund and he insisted that all he would refund is $500.00 and The Check Is In The Mail. Coming on two weeks later still No Check.I feel I should get a complete refund for the total cost, because he misrepresented himself, he didn't live up to the contract, or his advertisement on his Facebook Page, and has been completely unprofessional by only communicating by email, at his convenience. Never returning or contacting me by phone to settle this. Not to mention having to live out of my bathroom sink for water and having to eat out a considerable amount, because of not having a kitchen.

This company took a deposit, and then later also charged for the complete install and never ordered the product(check with distributor), and continually promised to install for 2 months and never did. The product was granite countertops.Product_Or_Service: granite counter topsOrder_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlementall my money back plus the interest I have paid n it for the last two months of them using my money.Business Response Delisted incident has been reviewed by the ownership here at Carolina custom remodeling stone and we have come to the conclusion that based upon the previous managements decisions, there was some miss communication and mishandling of this particular project. However we did not choose to not make installation effort. The client unfortunately was dealing with previous management whom is no longer with us due to the fact they were having some personal health issues as well as family related health issues. Because of this we unfortunately did have a lot of miscommunication with the client. However the client did request for a full refund of their money via their credit card company on May 29, 2014 the client credit card company been contacted our financial institution into which then contacted us and what a refund was issued on 9 June 2014. According to our financial institution there was already a refund made to the client prior to that by her credit card company. We truly apologize for any inconvenience suffered by the client due to these miscommunications. We have replaced the former management and have set up new protocols and procedures to ensure something like this does not happen again. However we do regret that the situation took place we do wish the client the best of luck with their home remodel efforts and thank them for their patient manner in this situation.
