Carolina Customized Interiors Reviews (1)

The workmanship issues involve the feature being crooked and not square, uneven cross-cuts, tile sagging around the feature, uneven spacing, sagging on other parts, damaged tile on the side wall, electrical problems on two of the walls. When company was addressed on their workmanship issues, we received a unprofessional person approach and an unwillingness to correct their inferior workmanship.Product_Or_Service: Kitchen Backsplash InstallationAccount_Number: Contract June 13, 20Desired SettlementWe are requesting financial compensation for materials for $495. Note: potentially 20 out of 30 tile sheets need replaced. Our plan is to hire another contractor to do the project which will require minimum labor dollars to correct and complete the original installation which negates the labor invoice received from CCI on June 28, for $820. We are expecting an updated invoice for $0. Business Response Complainant was contracted under signed agreement to complete tile back splash with customer purchased and supplied natural stone tile on mat material which provides its own tile spacing. Customer had several issues with differing pieces of the natural stone and was given every option to reorder or exchange products before install. Without any kind of deposit Carolina Customized Interiors completed 3+ days uncompensated labor on project, between demo of previous back splash, and install of focal point, accents, and mat tile. When complainant consulted Carolina Customized Interiors with concerns they were promptly addressed with the utmost professionalism within 24 hours. Pictures of concerning details were taken before and after to document actions taken. Demands by the complainant became unreasonable during efforts to appease complainant and Carolina Customized Interiors was asked to leave the site without payment or the ability to resolve any dispute with the work completed. A few electrical components were left disconnected as a result of work not being allowed to be completed.Six whitnesses to the project will attest to actions taken to appease complainant. Every possible positive outcome was suggested and even offering of supervisory third party was offered. These circumstances do not reflect the operations of this company and the complainant's statements are unwarranted.Legal action will be taken against complainant to resolve this matter. Consumer Response We have no issue with the tile manufacture or tile supplier. The company only had 3 workers to witness anything and they were in and out throughout the job. The pictures in the PDF highlight, with a horizontal line, the alignment details. We have a sidewall picture of the undamaged sidewall before the verbal complaint. We would like the opportunity to provide this. The damage sidewall picture was provided in the formal complaint. The top of the level on the accent piece shows the misalignment on the accent piece. After the workmanship and customer treatment was addressed by us, the company asked my husband, on a phone message to supervise our own job with the owner of the company doing the work. My husband said no based on what had already transpired. We are still asking to be compensated for materials with no payments made to the company. Final Business Response Carolina Customized Interiors has received ZERO payment from the complainant. The job was not allowed to be completed due to complainant asking Carolina Customized interiors to leave property despite several attempts to reasonably resolve any issues with workmanship. Since work could not be completed any further issues with drywall, wall plates, or inoperable lights could not be completed as assumed by regular back splash installations completed by Carolina Customized Interiors.Carolina Customized Interiors asked Complainant to have third party supervision to help complete project as it became obvious that unfair treatment was inevitable. Third party supervision in the form of both homeowners or other neutral party was suggested to help fair completion of the job and to ensure contract obligations on both sides would be met. Any options of third party supervision were rejected.Carolina Customized Interiors still holds Complainant responsible for $820 on invoice which already is a discounted price from signed contract to account for the work not completed.Legal actions will be taken, this is a final warning.
