Carolina Fresh Water (Headquarters) Reviews (16)

I was asked to send in a sample of my water for testing and didn't think anything about it until I got a call saying that my water needed to be tested further and so I scheduled a appointment for them to test it only to find out this was a scam for someone to come into my house and try to sale me something. I think this was very misleading and should not be allowed. Even if I needed or wanted a water filter system I would not buy one from a company so misleading. It only tells me that maybe the systems they are trying to sale is worth buying.

One 6/06/16 A salesman from Carolina fresh water came to our house and promised a water system that we have yet to fully received On 6/06/16 a salesman came to our house and put on a sales demonstration. In that sale pitch he promised clean drinkable not more then 20ppm out of the faucet not including an additional faucet exclusively for drinking which was ran through additional filters.in that demonstration he promised that the system only requirement was to add salt every couple months and that we would not receive a bill for at least 45 days.so on the the third day, this being the 9th [redacted] their manager came out to talk about the soaps and coupon booklet she informed us that being in they came to our house and sold the system that someone from the finance company would have to call to verify the loan. So now Not only is the water coming out worse then originally tested but there is a 250 dollar fee for a filter replacement. So after my girlfriend and I deliberated we decided that we were not interested in the system do to the experiences that led up to that point. So this still neither 9th we decided to sign the cancellation documents and have them noterised and sent them to Carolina fresh water after receiving them back in the mail we sent them certified. And the fact we never received a call to verify the loan we thought all was well until now we cannot get them to cancelDesired SettlementI would like for the loan to be canceled Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comI've attached the Priority Mail envelope with the tracking number, that delivered their cancellation letter to our office. We received their letter on 6/21/16, almost 2 weeks after their cancellation period. When we received the letter, we called them right away, on the day of delivery, because we had never heard from them prior and it was far past the cancellation period. See below the notes from our computer system. Dates & Notes from system - 6/21 - We received a cancellation letter in a priority envelope from Mr. [redacted] and girlfriend. Their cancellation period was up on 6/9. The financing was complete. We hadn't heard one complaint or had any calls/messages from them trying to cancel so we called the customer. We first talked the girlfriend. She stated they never signed paperwork and I said we had both signatures on the finance paperwork, that our customer care representative brought back to our office and had scanned over to the finance company weeks prior. I asked her to have her boyfriend, Mr. [redacted], to call us back so we could speak to him.Mr. [redacted] called back later in the day and said they did sign the finance paperwork. When I asked why they sent their cancellation letter 2 weeks after the cancellation period. He stated it was lost in the mail, I said then why did you not call us if it came back to you in the mail and why wait 2 weeks to mail again? There was no comment. When I asked him why he was wanting to cancel he said it wasn't working the way it was promised so I told him I would send out our service manager to take a look at the system to make sure it was working correctly. He refused the service call.06/30 - The girlfriend called and said she wanted someone to come take the system, I told her I spoke to the Mr. [redacted] on the 21st and said we offered the service manager to come out to take a look at the system. I reminded her they never notified us until almost 2 weeks after the cancellation period to cancel. She said she sent the cancelled on 6/9 but mail was returned, so I said then why didn't you call, fax, or email us? She said because we didn't have to. I said we had a service person out at your home on 6/10/14 to add the extra bags of salt, why didn't you tell them you wanted the system out if you had cancelled on 6/9? She got mad and hung up on me. We have repeatedly tried to go out to their home to see if the system wasn't working and they have repeatedly refused the offer. We would still like to send the service manager out to make sure the system is working correctly. Thank youConsumer Response Ok to respond to what [redacted] wrote. 1. How was the finance complete when [redacted] clearly said that the Carolina fresh water would not be funded until we received a phone call to verify we were the people who received the goods. A phone call that never happened. And in fact once Carolina fresh water received the cancellation documents and called to talk to my girlfriend and then had me call, I informed them we never received a call to finalize the finance. They responded by saying all calls are recorded so being that call never took place they couldn't find it.so me thinking the loan was never financed I never thought to call to let them know. As far as I knew everything was canceled. And the service lady that came out on the 10th never knocked or announced she was there even so we would still want the water we where going to be using until they came to take it out to at least work. Once I got the returned mail I went down and immediately sent it out from the post office and had it sent certified and next day. 2.We do not want the system not only because it doesn't work and is as the salesman misrepresented, But I don't want to be in business with people that lie about there product. Carolina fresh water sent out water viles to a lot of people in my area, one of my friends sent water from the drinking purification system they put in and said was water we can SAFELY drink. My friend got a response saying they water had contamination and solids. So they clearly don't test the viles or lie to get into people's homes to take advantage of a Hot topic in drinking water. That's why I don't want the water system. 3. Since all calls are recorded why don't [redacted] play the call where she said my girlfriend hung up on here and all the other mis statement she made in this review and you will see she the one that hung on her not giving us a chance to explain the the situation

The product that I Purchased is not upholding to what I was told or advertised when it was sold to me. The manager has been notified to call and hasntI was contacted by Carolina Fresh Water about a free water sample that I had submitted. Originally I thought the sample was just from the county doing a routine test. Once they contacted me they wanted to schedule a date to come by so we did. When they came they further showed me the results and demonstrated a water filtration system that does many of the following: Cleans your water, removes chlorine, and makes soft water which in return would: make your clothes last longer, reduce the amount of chemicals you use to clean with, GET RID OF RINGS IN TOILET, make your skin soft, etc. We decided to go ahead and get the nearly $8,000 system and they were more than happy to come out the next day which was a Sunday, and install the system. No issues installing the system. The system worked great for a few weeks and after that point we started noticing rings in the toilet, which I bolded earlier as something they said the system would get rid of. We contacted the company and they sent a tech who "adjusted the system" and said that the water was a little hard. I used quotations because they came while I was at work so I wasn't sure if they actually made adjustments. Less than a few weeks later, rings came back. We let the system replenish the water like they had stated and still no better results. Contacted Carolina Fresh Water again and spoke to their head plumber. told him the issue and I asked to speak with the Manager and he said I would have to call back because she wasn't in that Day. He told me her name so I could ask for her. I tried calling several times and the responses were always, shes in a meeting or not in the office. Left messages, notes and still no responses. I spoke to the head plumber once again, he said he would personally forward her a text if I would send it to him. So I did. Still never got a response. Ive contacted him again since that time and I asked him to have her call me the next day as I know I would be available. Never got a phone call. The system is not standing up to the level of quality that I was told it would when I purchased it and they have refused to call me in regards to this issueDesired SettlementI would like the company to come back to my house and un-install the system from my house and return the house to its original state (cap all opened connections points back to original state) and close my contract with [redacted] (the finance company who the system is being financed through) and return the money that I have paid toward the financing.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comMr [redacted] purchased his Whole Home Water filtration system from CFW in June 28th 2015. CFW gets no commitment from any customer until their system is installed and they are satisfied. To further protect consumers CFW abides by the 3 day right of rescission law and takes it a step further with the finance company calling and recording the consumer saying that their system is installed they are satisfied and it is ok to pay CFW. Mr. [redacted] agreed with all these steps. ON 9/3/15 Mr [redacted] called and asked to get out of his contract with his finance company because he was moving to FLorida. We stated to Mr [redacted] that we don't have anything to do with the financing it is an independent lender and we could not help him with that. He then stated his system wasn't working. CFW issued a service tech to Mr [redacted]'s house to test his water. Tech adjusted system for softer water and reviewed all tests with Mr [redacted]. Everything was good. 11/10 Mr [redacted] called and spoke to the head of the service dept and stated he had rings in his toilet. CFW explained the system doesn't clean it makes cleaning easier you still have to clean your toilet. A free service call was offered and Mr [redacted] declined stating he only wanted the system removed because he was moving to Florida. Again CFW explained we are not the finance company. CFW also explained in detail how to move the system with him to Florida and that seamed to Please Mr [redacted]. 11/11 CFW called Mr [redacted] to follow up and make sure he was satisfied, no answer a message was left with a managers number and name. 12/15 Mr [redacted] called installation manager and stated he had rings in his toilet and he wanted the system removed, again a free service call was offered but Mr [redacted] declined stating he lived in Florida now. At this point Mr [redacted] was given my number [redacted] (XXX) XXX XXXX. Mr [redacted] didn't call immediately so I called him. He stated he wasn't happy with the system. It then came out that he all ready moved to Florida and the new house had a system in it so he didn't need to move it. We offered a free service call since he was renting his NC house and he agreed. Shortly there after Mr [redacted] called back to speak to the owner of the company [redacted]. Mr [redacted] talked to Mr [redacted] at great lengths about moving the system to Florida with him since it is one of the best quality systems on the market. Mr [redacted] agreed to let CFW uninstalled his system and prepared it to be moved to Florida. 12/17 CFW uninstalled system for free and packaged it to move. CFW strives to provide the best possible customer service available. Multiple FREE service calls were offered and in the end the only result that we could provide was provided to Mr [redacted] for free. If it's within our capability and it means happy customers we do it ! My Name is [redacted] (XXX) XXX-XXXX and if any customer has a problem I am always available to talk.

This is one of the better sales experiences I have had. From the sales representative to the customer service representatives who came out two days after my install. Our system was installed the day after we bought it and the water is tasting great. Even a relative visiting over the weekend noticed how much softer her hair was after her shower as compared to her last visit just a month ago.

All those I have been in contact with have been what I would expect in knowledge, service and being helpful.
We are enjoying our clean pure water.

Carolina Freshwater has made numerous and repeated calls to my phone, including 2 calls in 1 hour, after we declined their services. On May 3, a supervisor at Carolina Freshwater promised the company's repeated telemarketing calls to my phone would stop immediately. Unfortunately, the calls have continued - frequently (including 2 calls in 1 hour) and repeatedly, and at inconvenient times. The calls are made from 336-617-5389.Desired SettlementNo more calls!!Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comHi - We're truly sorry for the Inconvenience! We contract our telemarketing through another company called [redacted] We have informed them to take you off any call list. [redacted] buys lead lists from marketing companies and then tries to contact the leads. We will take every effort to end the calls to your phone number. I'm not sure why someone would call you back 2 times in one hour unless they didn't leave a voicemail the first try.. It may also be they spoke to someone that said "call back later today." I'm not sure why, but I'll continue to look into iuntil all marketing calls have stopped. Regardless, we''ve made [redacted] aware of the situation and we'll take every effort to get your name & phone number off any cold call list. One last question - I see your phone number has a (512) area code. Is this the phone number they were calling? If not can you please send me the phone number that was called multiple times. If you have questions or any issues arise, please contact me @ XXX-XXX-XXXX. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience -[redacted] Carolina Fresh Water

We have had a great experience with Carolina Fresh Water! We live outside the city limits of Kernersville and knew our water was not fabulous, being at the end of the Winston-Salem water line. Our sales rep was super knowledgable and just a nice guy to deal with. He spent a lot of time educating us on all the different tests he performed. By the end of the demonstration, we felt as though we were able to make our own decision to move forward with the water system product without any annoying push from the rep. That is a huge deal for us.
Some of our biggest deciding factors were:
1. The warranty and maintenance service
2. Ability to take the system with you if you move
3. My husband donated a kidney a few years ago, and we felt this was a great step in preventing kidney stones
4. All of the health benefits associated with clean water; everything from your laundry, hair and skin, cleaning to consuming clean water. Over all, just a great health investment.

Great experience with Carolina Fresh Water! They came and did some tests on our water and showed us how hard water was hurting our system. They installed the filtration systems that day and called back within the week to ensure everything was working to our satisfaction. They called back periodically to make sure we are still happy and will schedule immediately if there are any problems or routine maintenance needs to be done on our system. It was a little expensive, but worth it for the service and protection of our system and health. Thank you Carolina Fresh Water!

I'm a clean water advocate and general water geek. I have used several reverse osmosis units in the past. I've been using store purchased distilled water for drinking, coffee, cooking for 20 years.
The in-house water filtration unit that Carolina Clean Water sells (GE) is top of the line hands down. I could go on all day about the technical details of % of flouride removed, total particulates per million, the neutral pH of the water, the tastelessness of the water. The purchase and financing process was smooth as silk. The added benefits such as soap & cleaning products program helps both offset the monthly cost of purchase as well as defers some really nasty products going down the drain.

My name is [redacted] and I had an amazing experience with Carolina Fresh Water. [redacted] Charlotte Area Manager and [redacted] are amazing. They were and still are available to answer any question and address any concern. After meeting them I felt like a part of their family. I used to not be able to drink my tap water. Now, I can drink my water and it taste good. I enjoy taking a shower and I love the way my skin feels afterwards. Getting this system was the best decision I made since relocating to Charlotte. Thank you [redacted].

I have had my system for several months. It was the best move I have made in a long time. I didn't realiize how bad my water was until it was tested. The people are very friendly and personable. They make you feel like you are special, not just another number. If I had a question, I got an answer pretty quick. Yes, the system is a little expensive but well worth the results.

Simple and quick, so glad we got the system, can"t believe the difference it has made. A 100% better water quality, just try it for yourself.

[redacted] provides a superior level of customer service. He is incredibly responsive and provides the level of service that he claims he will. A year after installing our unit we were told that our water tested as being contaminated. [redacted] was at our home as soon as OUR schedule permitted (less than a week). He would have come sooner had we been available. You can't go wrong working with [redacted]. No one will take better care of you!

HORRIBLE RIP OFF COMPANY!!!
They will always try to say your water is too hard, or it has contaminants. Get your water tested by your State Certified Lab Office and then compare.
Carolina Fresh Water uses ploys to get you to buy their equipment for an outrageous price!! I've seen reviews where the customer negotiated the sale as much as $1000.00 off the listing price. DO NOT EXPECT A FOLLOW-UP Visit for retesting the water once you purchase the equipment, they will not return.
This company has NO BUSINESS backbone and treats it customers without much dignity or respect. Seek other options!!

Sales Men ([redacted] said it was less than 1 percent apr for 5 years at 120 a month. It's 120 a month for about 7 years around 13.9 percent aprSales man said it was a 1 percent APR for at 120 a month for 5 years. I signed the contract because he said the terms would be settled when the finance company called. The lady I spoke with at ISPC said that it was 80 a month for 12 months and then 120 a month for the remainder. I didn't realize that it was past 5 years. I contacted the ISPC representative after I realized something was wrong with payment amounts. Come to find out that it's an open ended account and will take around 7 years to pay off. And the interest rate is 5.9 for the first year than 13.9 for the remainder. This is not even close to what the figures the salesman give me when I signed his contract.Desired SettlementI want the initial agreed terms to be filled.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@aol.comCarolina Fresh Water takes great pride in our sales process and the protection it offers it's customers. Mr [redacted] did place an order from CFW and it's representative [redacted] but had no commitment what so ever to sign a contract until his system was installed and he was happy. Like Mr [redacted] stated on his Google complaint his water is better and he loves the product. As to the financing no representative can determine a payoff time frame on a revolving line of credit when it can be 2 days or 10 years depending on spending and payment amounts. Mr [redacted] selected the 1 - 1 1/2 plan with CFW and his system was installed. After his 3 day right of recession CFW sends a completely different individual to sign the contract and go over the terms of the finance agreement. All of these terms were agreed to and the contract was signed. To take it a step further the finance company calls and goes over the terms again and asks if the consumer is ok with those terms and can they release funds to CFW. Mr [redacted] agreed to all. With all those steps in place and the fact that Mr [redacted] loves the product, CFW is at a loss for what more we can do. We have no control over over the finance company and don't have the ability to negotiate terms of behalf of the borrower. My Name is [redacted] the General Manager and I am always available to answer any questions on financing. (XXX) XXX-XXXX. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction and don't ever want any prospect or customer feeling as if we have to do anything underhanded to achieve a sale. That just doesn't present any value to our company. That is precisely why we have put so many steps in to protect those very people.Consumer Response CFW never sent another representative to our house to go over the terms. The only time terms were discussed was with [redacted] and the finance company. The finance company never talked about length of contract and only said it was $120 a month till it was paid off. (Which I assumed was 5 years)A representative came out over a week later to test water and go over the cleaning products but contract and terms were never discussed. The unit was installed the next day after [redacted] left and We were never given the 3 days recession period. I do love the product but sales tactic and deception got the best of us.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I'm dropping the issue because I don't desire to argue over something I can't change. I'm aware that unless I wish to draw the courts into that this is a waste of time. I don't really have physical evidence of what the companies salesman actually said anyway. It's my word against his and that's all here say.I'm disappointed that the company didn't make an effort to reach out. Absolutely zero effort was put into contacting me, even after I reached out to them. I have no intention of referring any business to CFW and will caution anyone who mentions them.Take CareFinal Business Response CFW as stated previously, goes out of our way to protect each and every consumer and does not wish to engage in this kind of activities in a public forum. CFW will provide the CHARGE SLIP signed by Mr. [redacted] the clearly states Description of terms of this transaction : 5.9% APR with a 1% minimum monthly payments for 12 months. 13.99% APR with a 1.5% required minimum monthly payment thereafter. This is not fine print stuck in a contract this a separate and individual slip that Mr [redacted] signed separately when he signed his contract with [redacted] 1 week after his system was installed. And yes she is the same person that goes over Mr. [redacted]'s free 5 year soap pack and gets the actual contract signed. To further that action ISPC recorded Mr [redacted] excepting these terms for their own protection as well as every consumer it finances on behalf of. It is in the opinion of CFW and I'm sure all finance companies we use that would protect all from FRIVOLOUS accusations such as these. We do not wish to engage in these kind of public and negative marks against us especially when we have done everything by the book and to protect Mr. [redacted]. We are more than willing to provide Mr. [redacted] the charge slip that he did receive a copy of and still should have in his packet from CFW.

Very good company to work with.
