On May 1, 2013 I paid [redacted] in advance for ordering and installing new window screens. I was paying for other work he had done and he just included everything in one invoice. When he took longer than expected to get back to me with the screens, I called, he was apologetic and told me he had gotten busy and forgot to order them. He said he would order them right away and get them to me asap. It is now December and he still hasn't shown up! He ignores phone calls, emails, texts, all attempts to contact him. I hired [redacted] originally on referral by a mutual friend - that friend has made attempts to contact him as well, with no success. In my last emails I asked him to simply send me a refund check for my advance payment so I could find someone else to do the job. He has never replied and I've never received a refund. I have never reported a business to the Revdex.com before, and I don't like doing it now, but there doesn't seem to be an alternative. Hopefully I can get a refund, and anyone considering hiring him in the future will be cautioned.Thank you.Product_Or_Service: Window screens and installation serviceOrder_Number: Invoice [redacted]Desired SettlementPlease refund payment made for screens and installation.

Complaint[redacted] was hired to do work at my house. His associate behaved unprofessionally at my house, and carried out inferior work in several places.I hired [redacted] to fix several things around my house to get it ready to go on the market. The major project involved replacing my back door, as well as any rotting wood underneath the door and the siding around the door. Another project involved the laundry area. [redacted] sent his associate, [redacted] (I never got his last name) to do the work at my house. First, [redacted] brought the wrong door to my house (door knob was on the opposite side of what I had told him) and he told my son I had told him that the door knob was on the other side, which was not true. [redacted] then worked very fast, and left. Upon examining his work in the laundry area, which involved putting back the doors that covered the alcove where the laundry appliances were kept, the dryer door would only open 1/4 of its normal span, the dryer vent was torn, and the doors on the alcove did not close properly. I also found a piece of cut dryer vent(aluminum) in my recycling bin.Upon examining the back door, none of the siding was replacedseveral pieces were painted over. [redacted] had broken a piece of my flooringwhich he then tried to cover with a piece of molding (unsuccessfully, there was still a hole in the floor) and the back door was not framed properlyyou could see outdoors around the sides of the frame.I called, and [redacted] sent [redacted] back. I asked them to put the laundry area back the way it was and to fix the door. [redacted] lost his temper and yelled at me when I pointed out that he still left a broken dryer vent; he also denied cutting the vent and leaving it in my recycling bin. I would have called the police had my son (aged 21) not been in the house. He then "fixed" the back door.Another contractor came to the house to do the jobs I canceled with [redacted] given my experience with [redacted]. Under the siding around the doorwhich should have been replaced and examined by [redacted], the contractor found rotting wood. There was also rotting wood underneath the door jamb, which [redacted] was supposed to have fixed. The molding that [redacted] had put onto the floor next to the door (to cover the board he broke)had also snapped off. My Realtor and the contractor told me to take pictures and send them to [redacted] because the work was obviously not done properly at all. I sent the photos to [redacted] asking him to respond. All he did was forward the email to [redacted], who claimed that it was not his responsibility to be fixing rotting wood around the door and under siding. But this is exactly what he was hired for.I paid [redacted] $600.00 for this work. The other contractor and my realtor were appalled. I still have the pictures. The work was of such poor quality, I reported it to the person who had referred [redacted] to me (my financial adviser)to be sure he would not recommend him to anyone else. [redacted] declined to respond to me in any way beyond forwarding [redacted]'s impertinent reply.Desired SettlementThe back door and lock were purchased from [redacted]. Given that all the work had to be redone by someone else, I would like all my money back minus the cost of the door and lock mechanism.
