Manufacturer would not supply defective bearing or bearing specifications. BEWARE of [redacted] SCCOOTERS-ONE YEAR WARRANTY on DRIVE TRAIN-CAN BE VERY COSTLY-it may cause you to pay basically for a replacement machine. I purchased a [redacted] Go-Go Traveler Elite scooter. I bought the unit from Carolina Med, New Bern, NC, for convience of getting around, not that I'm completely handicapped. I used the unit app 12 times in last three years of ownership. [redacted] installed a very inexpensive ( approximate $10 ) needle baller axle bearing for the main axle. [redacted] only fix was for me to buy a New complete transaxle at a cost of $444 to me, basically the cost of manufacturing the complete scooter. Why not sell me a new inexpensive bearing!!![redacted] would do NOTHING to help me ( Company Policy ), no directions how to change out the deficient bearing was given or where to buy a replacement bearing. Carolina Med, the company I brought the unit from would also do nothing to help only to offer $200 off of a new scooter purchase. Carolina Med warranty is labor only for life of the unit. BIG DEAL, if you are NOT supplied or able to purchase any parts that are deficient.A person should not need to pay for on COMPLETE DRIVE TRAIN when only an inexpensive bearing is deficient. I highly would not suggest purchasing anything from either company as their policies are not up front with the public and cover very little of the repair cost if any were needed.Again, BEWARE, I'm not sure if your insurance company will pay for a second unit or all handicapped people are skilled mechanicsThe bearing froze up in 4/10/14. The assembly date of the scooter was 6/25/09 and I bought this item I believe in July or August. I paid between 900 and $1000.00 for this scooter and was told it had a five year warranty on parts and labor. The model and serial numbers are *XXXXXXXXX[redacted] and [redacted] Elite Traveler Plus.Desired SettlementI want to be reimbursed for the bearing that I sent for that came to a total of $16.00 plus five hours of labor at $40.00 per hour. Business Response Carolina Home Medical, INC is a certified dealer of [redacted] Mobility products. We service the products that we sell at no additional charge to the consumer. The bearing in question was not available from [redacted] Mobility as it is inside a sealed transaxle. The transaxle is sold as a complete unit. If Carolina Home Medical disassembles the tranaxle and it is not re-assembled properly, the brake could fail resulting in injury to the consumer. If Carolina Home Medical does this, we become liable for injury to the consumer and as such it is against company policy to disassemble parts such as these when it is not recommended by the manufacturer. I realize that the consumer has only used this product 12 times, however according to a note that I have in the consumers file we offered a 25% discount for this repair.

Over billed to patient amount approved by Medicare as full paymentpurchased a wheelchair with a physician order for my wife [redacted] H [redacted].Payment made under Medicare benefits,merchant billed me for $99.28 as been my responsability,sent a check on December 17th 2015.I received a statement of benefits from Medicare stating payment was made to Carolina Home Medical and no copayment/responsability on my part.called merchant Billing,discussed issue with [redacted] at XXX XXX XXXX,he acknowledge a mistake was made and there will be a refund for over payment.several calls made during January,February and last call made past week.Always a promise of a check to be on the mail.No check has been received.Desired Settlementnot sure,perhaps contacting merchant to raise/remaind him there is an unresolved issue?Merchant brought the check to my home today with apologies,I am satisfied with the resolution.thank you very much[redacted] J [redacted]: issue resolved04/08/2016 Revdex.com MORE INFO RECEIVED FROM THE BUSINESS : We are very sorry for the inconvenience and time it took to refund this patient.
