A realtor named [redacted] is a bad reflection of any Real Estate agent who decides to put their personal gain aside for the ethics and commitments she took when she became a Real Estate agent in NC. I rented a home managed by [redacted] for 2 years and decided to move, since I was on a month to month lease. I contacted [redacted] and advised her I found a home in the same development for a less rental price and I wanted to give my notice via letter but I needed the address to send it to. She asked what and where was the property, which I disclosed to her and when she looked it up she confirmed it was listed less and in the same development. I had already signed an agreement for the new location and was in the three day rescind period. [redacted] spoke to the owner of the property where I had been renting for nearly 2 years and said (I have a copy of the letter) that the owner was willing to reduce the rent to the same price if I signed a 2 year lease, I agreed, as I was happy where I was at, just the price was at the high end and I was preparing for my son to go to college. I contacted the other property owner and told him I decided to stay where I was at and apologized for any inconvenience. [redacted] came to my home a week later with the new leases and did a walked through and just as I am about to sign, she said to me [redacted] and I decided to place the home up for sale, without ANY regards to the contract I just let go and my children. She could have cared less about my family and the fact that she/[redacted] had a reliable and dependent tenant for past 2 years. Under duress and not knowing if and how soon I could find another place for us to call home I signed the new lease. Within a week she started to harass me with overflowing emails and calls about the home. If she would have just allowed me to leave when I advised her of the new contract none of this would have happened. She basically LIED to me regarding new 2 years lease and almost left my family homeless.Desired SettlementThe money I submitted to the other owner for the application fee and I want an apology for what she did and how she is allowed to represent a company ([redacted] Realty). I have many friends and know a lot of people who are in the process of relocating to NC and will not recommend any of these sincere people to this company.Business Response Ms. [redacted] is an Agent with [redacted] Realty and she has recently joined the firm. This matter you have inquired about is a property management complaint and [redacted] Realty does not engage in or allow any of our agents to practice property management under [redacted] Realty. Ms. [redacted] does her property management under Carolina Properties. I have a letter from Ms. [redacted] and from her clients that discuss some of the details of this situation that I can forward to you and to the best of my knowledge the landlord has obtained legal council and they are in the process of working through any issues they may have.
