I was told that that window tint I purchased and had installed from this company would solve the glare and heat issues in my condo. It didn't.I purchased the window tint on 7/ and was told before install that it would reduce glare and heat in my condo. It did not. I tried contacting the company and they never responded. I filed a dispute with my credit card and then they contacted me. They claimed that I was trying to get something for free and I was trying to "weasel" out of paying. I am trying to get my money back for something that did not work as they stated or get a replacement. However, they didn't offer to do anything when they contacted me other than say I was stealing from them and trying to not pay.Desired SettlementI would like to get refund or cost of replacing it with the correct tint.Business Response Instead of contacting us directly to let us know that you were unhappy with the product and allowing us to provide other options, you contacted your credit card company and disputed the charge causing us to incur additional fees. We called and emailed several times to offer solutions, which went unanswered by you. We then asked that you simply return the product for a full refund. You said unable to return the product. We then asked when we could retrieve our product. You replied - "You're being rude - I'll just live with it." You now have in your possession one of the best heat and glare reducing films on the market, AND you have taken your money back. Pointing out your dishonest business methods should not be construed as rudeness. While you now seem to be on a mission to discredit our company, yours is the first negative review in our 30+ years of being an authorized 3M dealer, and it's completely unfounded. We pride ourselves on our customer service. Had we been given the proper opportunity to address this situation before you disputed the charge, we would have made every attempt at finding a solution that worked for you. We simply ask that you please return the product or return the funds. Consumer Response I order a window tint service back in July from Carolina Solar Control. I was told when I purchased that it would greatly reduce heat and glare. I was unable to verify this immediately after the install. In the week after, I noticed it was not doing as the company had told me it would. I contacted the business and did not receive a response. I filed a dispute with the credit card company to try to get my money back. After that was file, then I started hearing from the business. He proceeded to mock my faith, stated I was a trying to "weasel" out of paying, and then stated I was stealing from him. The way these people are running their business is not right. I was told they could come and put more window film on top of the existing window film, which would make the window not look right... An option that was offered that cost me money. I was offered for him to come out and measure with gun and see if the film was working.I already know that it's not working I can feel the amount of heat that is being produced. Then, he told me that I could take down the tint and mail it back to them. I can't reach the film. After this, I told him that I would have to live with it, however I thought about it and we don't have to live with something that was advertised incorrectly and pay for it. Another reviewer on Google also stated that the tint they recieved didn't cool and provide the glare protection they were looking for either. So, I am leaving it in the hands of the credit card company and you guys to help me get my money back.Final Business Response I think there is a communication breakdown here. He is twisting my words to his benefit or does not fully understand what's being said.July 13th - the 83% glare reducing and 72% total solar energy reducing film was installed.August 30th - we received a recall payment notice from Mr. [redacted] credit card company. The funds have been removed and a penalty applied to us for the chargeback. Multiple attempts were made to contact Mr.[redacted] by phone to resolve the problem. Messages were not returned so an email was sent.Sept. 1st - Mr. [redacted] finally responds to email.Mr. [redacted] continues to say he tried to contact us prior but I have asked him to produce this email and he cannot. All company phone calls and emails come to my personal mobile device and are returned within an hour. I have searched and can find no record of any email or call prior to the 1st. It should not take nearly 2 months to decide if a film is meeting your needs. A few days is typical.As I have explained earlier, we have offered to add another layer of material to reduce more heat and glare at cost and have explained that this would keep his full warranty intact. We double layer film all the time. During the estimation process it was also explained the current product was the darkest film that could be SAFELY applied to a double pane window unit. Going darker would most certainly break the glass from heat stress. Mr. [redacted] continues to say we mislead him and the product does not do what it's supposed to do. It is simple to verify the films glare reduction and heat gain rejection with a meter. He has refused this offer and continued to call us out. We offered he return the product for a full refund. He said he was unable to reach the glass to remove the film. However, apparently he can reach the glass to feel the heat coming through. I offered to come and remove the film at no charge and he replied, I will just live with it. So he's keeping the product and service and refusing to pay for it. He has now posted 5 very hateful reviews on many of our social media pages. I can no longer offer to add another layer or remove the material for him as he has created a very hostile environment that I will not send any of my employees into. Mr. [redacted] needs to return the material or return the money to our account along with the penalty. We are considering legal action for the assault on our company.A simple phone call to discuss the issue would have avoided this entire mess.
