be filled that was written by her ophthalmologistShe brought in no other health records other than the simple prescription for bifocalsThere was no indication of her visual status or health conditions noted on the prescriptionThis is pertinent information because Medi-Cal does not pay for spectacles for adults, and Medicare only pays for spectacles one time after cataract surgeryMs*** brought in her prescription and picked out a frame which we had made at a lab according to her prescriptionSince Medicare has not made payment on our claim, Ms*** was subsequently billed by our office for the frame and lenses that were dispensed to herShe now complains of not being able to use them because they are not clear and she can not get used to themOur office had the spectacles made to the prescription brought in by Ms***Any type of visual problem and / or adaptation problem would need to be addressed by Ms***'s ophthalmologist who wrote the prescriptionAs far as Ms***'s ocular conditions are concerned, this office has no records or history at allThat privileged health information is protected by HIPPA and is retained in Ms***'s file at her ophthalmologistOnce again, she presented to our office with the prescription in hand, which we filled and attempted to bill MedicareShe was only billed by our office after we didn't receive payment from MedicareTo this day, Ms*** still has the spectacles and she still has an outstanding balance at our office for those spectacles that are in her possessionIt is the patient's responsibility to know what their insurance companies cover when they get care at any practitioner's officeSincerely, *** ***, OD

Dear Revdex.com,
In response to your letter to my complaint against the Optometrist, I received a call which I'm sure it was them who called me and when I ans the phone it said, rejected. I'm assuming it was them, it couldn't be anyone else. I didn't know you can do that over the phone. I still haven't heard from them about my glasses and I won't after this.
Terrible how companies treat you like this. They should take themselves off the list with medicare.
