McCluskey Chevrolet thanks the customer for the purchase, and the servicing of their vehicle with usThe customer purchased their Cobalt from us in July, At that time, his vehicle qualified for our Free, Lifetime Powertrain Protection (no cost to the customer), which is an actual
insurance policy that is purchased by McCluskey Chevrolet (and a monthly premium paid by its owner), underwritten by The *** *** *** *** A condition of this policy, with this insurer, is that every 5,miles (on a used vehicle such as the customer referenced here), an oil change AND a tire rotation must be performed by McCluskey Chevrolet in order to keep the policy in full force and effect by The *** *** *** ***
According to the customer, he indicates that he was never told about the tire rotation element as a condition of the policy, but has gotten his oil changes performed at our dealership during his ownership. It is for this reason, that McCluskey Chevrolet has contacted The *** *** *** Company this date, and asked them to re-instate the customer's LIFETIME POWERTRAIN PROTECTION, effective todayAs a result of us making contact with the insurance carrier, explaining the customers situation to them, and asking for their consideration in this regard, they have agreed to re-instate his policy with themAs a condition of this re-instatement, the customer must, henceforth, get all of his scheduled oil changes and tire rotations performed at McCluskey Chevrolet, in the mileage intervals referenced above - in order to keep the policy in full force and effectIf he does not, or should he go over on the miles, the policy will be voided by the Carrier.
This LIFETIME POWERTRAIN PROTECTION covers the POWERTRAIN elements of his/a vehicle, which directly pertains to the transmission and the engine (and some of the components/parts relating to such), but a POWERTRAIN has nothing to do with a thermostat, which is what the customer is indicating he is seeking covered under this policy
Hopefully this customer will realize that McCluskey Chevrolet has acted in good faith on his behalf pertaining to this complaint, and McCluskey Chevrolet is, and has always been, very concerned about customer satisfaction - which is evidenced by the fact that we have asked for, and have obtained, a re-instatement of the customers FREE, LIFETIME POWERTRAIN PROTECTION
?

The CarFax on this vehicle never indicated any MAJOR damage, and McCluskey Chevrolet was unaware of any potential problems with the a spot weld on the frame - that was obviously performed under another person's ownership, and not McCluskey Automotive
Although it has been months since
the time of the customer's purchase, (and approximately 18,miles later - that the customer has put onto the vehicle's mileage), our McCluskey Automotive Manager has contacted the customer recently, and in an effort to express our company's philosophy of "customer goodwill," has offered to give this customer top dollar for this vehicle as a traon another pre-owned vehicleHe/we would also be willing to take back the original vehicleAdditionally, McCluskey Automotive was/is also willing to absorb any negative equity position that the customer may be in as a result of short-time ownership of this vehicle versus long term ownership (of which reduces the principal amount in addition to the interest)
Our base of lenders have required that in order to implement the above referenced, the customer would need a very minimal down payment, in this case, a $down payment. Unfortunately, another vehicle/loan with no money down from this customer was not an option, again, a decision that was made from our base of lenders
If the customer can comply with the conditions of a potential loan, ($down), McCluskey Automotive would still be willing and able to assist this customer with another vehicle

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

I still don't feel like I should have to give any money down to have my car traded out. Also I go threw their buy here pay here because they said that was the only option I really had when I got the car since I didn't have co-signer or money to put down with trade in. So I make all my payments directly to McCluskey themselves. So lenders have nothing to do with this.
Regards,
*** ***

Ms*** purchased a *** *** from McCluskey Chevrolet, and when we were made aware of her concerns about the transmission problems she said she was experiencing, we addressed those concerns right awayWe had her vehicle taken to our Service department for an evaluation and any repairs that
might be needed in this regardWe also gave Ms*** a loaner vehicle to drive while these repairs were being performed We did adjust the bands on her vehicle and could not find any other issues that needed to be performed pertaining to the transmission issues she indicatedMs*** picked up her vehicle upon completion of these repairs, and then came back into our *** *** location the very next day, stating that there was still a problemAt that time, we then took the vehicle back to our Service department, and had our senior Service Advisor ride with Ms***, in her vehicle, to see if a problem could be identified with the manner in which Ms*** thought the vehicle should perform, again, still relating to the transmissionOur Advisor reported that he could not find anything wrong with the way the vehicle was drivingThis Advisor was of the opinion (since he could find nothing wrong with the transmission issue she was referencing), that since the customer had suffered a stroke, and partially paralyzed on her right side, that it could made it somewhat difficult for her to apply the gas pedal properly, versus something wrong with the transmissionMr***, (the Sales Manager who inter-acted with Ms*** regarding these issues, and in getting the vehicle serviced for the customer), advised Ms*** of this thought, and at that time, she was still not satisfied with that conclusion.
The following day, Ms*** brought a male guest with her to our *** *** location, that she indicated was a friend, and former mechanicHe told Mr*** that he would drive the *** with Ms*** and let Mr*** know what his thoughts were on how the unit was driving/drove upon completion of this test driveMr*** saw this male guest and Ms*** drive off the lot in the ***, and then return back onto the lot after this driveThey both got out of the ***, spoke for a moment, and they both left - he in his vehicle, Ms*** in the ***Mr*** assumed that since this male guest drove the *** and left, without any further inter-action with the Mr***, that he found nothing of concern from a mechanical standpoint - otherwise, he would have come back in and let Mr*** know otherwise.
A couple of days after Ms*** and her male guest came in and drove the ***, as referenced above, she brought the *** back in, stating it was overheatingAt that time it was sent to our Service department to get this issue identified and resolved, (and she was put into a loaner vehicle), and as of November 5, 2014, we are waiting for the customer to pick up her ***, which has had the necessary repairs performed to address this issue, at no cost to her.
McCluskey Chevrolet has been very pro-active on addressing Ms***' concerns with her vehicle, and taking care of any of these repairs that were needed at no expense to her

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2015/11/04) */
I am not sure why she is complaint, she told me not to do anything else. She came over to another property and cursed me out. I would have finished the project but she strictly told me not to. She said she did not want me to finish it so I...

asked what I can do? She said put my cabinets back on because of her company coming over this weekend. It was a constant issue for me to get time to go over there. She was frustrated and we did not start the job on the day we were supposed to because she didn't want us to. I went there and put the cabinets back on for her. I have not heard from her at all since. That was it. I was willing to finish the job, but she strictly told me not to. This job is more than halfway done, if she lets me finish she will still owe me over $1000.
